Crazy airfares

I just bought my fiancee an airline ticket for mid-May.

The one-way fare was $393.46

The round-trip fare was $293.02

Does anybody understand the airlines' pricing system?:blink::blink::blink::blink:

But it's a win-win for me. I saved $100, and if she gets on my nerves, I can send her packing without having to buy another ticket.

(*That last part was a joke, in case you didn't get it)

Its always been cheaper for a return than a single ticket. Not really sure why that is. If you pack her home, make sure you get to do the housework before she leaves lol :D

I think even God does not understand airline ticket pricing.

It think it is a secret supercomputer somewhere that does nothing else just prices the tickets...

If you re not use it for returning, the Passenger's name sometimes is on the record according to FAA. Be careful not do it often. You re ok.

Its crazy how they do that. I bought my fiancee a round trip ticket form Kazakhstan to the US for $1500.00 US. One-way ticket was $4800.00. More than 3 times as much.

I know there are security rules against this with the FAA and TSA, but it would be great if you put the return leg on Craigslist or Ebay and get some $ back lol. Just tryin to make a buck back on what you rightfully paid for yourself.

It does seem like you got a pretty good price.

I was just looking at airline tickets today.....I saw one-way tickets during mid-week, mid-May that were around 350 from SJO to JFK.

Did you check Kayak.com? I think that is the best site for airline deals.

You must be so excited.....it won't be long now! Good luck with all that lies ahead and thanks for all the advice!

Rather than the illegal method of trying to let someone else use it, I wonder if you can phone the airline with a semi-legit excuse and see if they will let you get a "voucher" or something so you can use that other leg towards a flight later on.

She coming into JFK (my home airport) on Taca from San Jose, Costa Rica. It works out well since they're the only one that gives the EAD.

I always fly on Taca (www.taca.com), nonstop from Costa Rica, 4.5 hours. My ticket JFK-SJO-JFK to go pickk her up cost only $319. :o

No can do, these are deep discount tickets which are non-refundable and non-transferable.
