Hi All,

I just found out from the CSC RFE line and from the NVC that my petition was shipped by CSC to NVC on January 25th (next day after approval  ) and has now reached NVC today, January 31st. They gave me a new case number. :)

Moving along quite nicely. :dance::dance::dance:

Yes, the I-134 does not specify that, but I-134 itself is not required (although it is recommended to bring it anyway). What is usually recommended to bring with you to the interview is the following (this is a quote from the Moscow embassy web site instructions for the fiancee visa process):

Financial documents from the petitioner – a US citizen: please note, that Affidavit of Support (form I-134) is not required, but may be requested. The document must be notarized. Please submit financial documents to show that the applicant will not become a public charge in the United States. Such documents may include, but are not limited to:

- Most recent year tax returns (form 1040) or tax transcripts from IRS

- Copy of bank account

- Earnings and leave statement

- W-2 forms

- Letter from employer

You can also take a look at the guide for the K-1 visa in the guides section of VJ.

Hope this helps.

I was approved (NOA 2) Jan. 24th. I was wondering if anyone knows where they send the packets? to the fiancee's house abroad or to the embassy? also how long before the interview usually? thanks guys.

After the approval your petition will be forwarded to the NVC. Since you were approved on Jan 24th (same day as me) I'd venture a guess that it's already at NVC. Call them to confirm and get your new case number.

From NVC it will be forwarded to the embassy. The embassy will then be sending a packet of info to your fiancee's house. Depending on the country/consulate there maybe 1 or 2 such packets (packet 3 and packet 4). The time to interview also depends on the country/consulate. Check your regional forum, see what people are saying in there. Also check the embassy web site, they might have some specific instructions.

Good luck!

Has anyone else heard about requesting a provisional file to be opened at the consulate once you receive the NOA2? I've read elsewhere that the petitioner can fax a copy of the NOA2 along with a letter to request a "provisional file" and, depending on the country, the consulate will then send packet 3 to the fiance before the approved I-129F actually gets there. Sounds like a great way to speed things up a few weeks, but wondering if anyone has had any success with it... Thanks

I-129F sent to CSC 27 Aug 2007

NOA1 8 Oct 2007

rcd email re: NOA2 29 Jan 2008

rcd hard copy NOA2 4 Feb 2008

rcd email from NVC (in response to email inquiry -took a week to get an answer) - petition sent to Sydney: 11 Feb 2008

Fiance rcd Packet 3 on 13 Feb 2008

Packet 3 returned to embassy 25 Mar 2008

Fiance rcd email version of Packet 4 on 22 April 2008

Interview scheduled for 6 May 2008

Actual Interview (due to consulate mess up!) 9 May 2008- Visa approved!!

Hey Igor,

I thought I would join the crowd. July filers welcome I take it? I could use the help. Not sure exactly how NVC stage works. Also I moved house since filing so is this the stage at which I can register my new address or do I have to contact the embassy in London for that? USCIS doesn't allow the beneficiary to register a change of address.

Thanks,

Tracy
