I got a touch the day after I got approved. You think that touch was my application being sent to NVC?

A touch after approval could mean two things: a notice (NOA2) being sent to you or the petition packet being sent to NVC. Or it could be both! :)

I am pretty sure the 156 and 156k can be typed in a computer. Not sure about DS-230 since you don't need that form in Philippines.

hey eric ;) since your fiance' is from the Philippines (like me).. you might want to know about the D-156 form.. The Manila Embassy requires:

"DS-156 Form – Starting 01 November 2006, handwritten or typed Visa Application DS-156 Forms will no longer be accepted. Visa application forms printed from the Internet and then filled out by hand or typed on a typewriter will not be accepted. Please fill out the form online, and then print it out using a laser printer. The printout will be three pages in length and include the two-dimensional barcode page. Make sure that the barcode is printed clearly and completely, with no lines broken or torn. Only use laser jet or inkjet printers and good quality copy paper when printing the online DS-156 Form."

Sorry for changing the tropic. Could somebody guide as to how sample employment letter should look like? I have asked my employer to give me a letter. They asked me to give a sample.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Mox, your NOA2 is coming soon. You have helped so many people here.

So, I was hoping I might get through at least one part of the process without having to wait an extended period. Called NVC and no trace of my petition. It's only a week though. Anyone fancy some cheese with my whine? :D

Don't fret. We were approved on January 25. They never had our case number in their system, but I just got the letter in the mail dated February 1. You should see yours within the next week.

Oh good. Thanks for the reassuring info. I really want the next bit to go super quickly.

Well, today I've called NVC again (as I do everyday) and they told me that it looks like my case has finished processing and waiting to be shipped. What the hell does that mean? Why don't they just ship it? :unsure:

It's like a fine wine. You can't just ship a petition out once it's been approved. You have to let it breathe a little. Only then is it ready to be shipped. :D

So, we are back to the subject of whine then? :)

I'll ask again: got some good old stinky cheese to go with that?

I will whine now about how disgusting gorgonzola is.

Should the letter come from an HR person or from your supervisor? I guess I have always assumed that it should come from the supervisor...and well, since my company has a weird set up with the HR department (basically, HR/Finance/IT is a separate agency) it might be confusing for the letter to come from them when their letterhead, company name, etc are all differant than my agency. Thoughts?

The instructions state:

B. Statement of your employer on business stationery, revealing:

1. Date and nature of employment;

2. Salary paid;

3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

It does not state who the letter must come from.

I got the exact same thing. Called 5 minutes ago to NVC, still not in the system. The guy told me to wait 2 weeks after approval date to call back, I'll call start of next week!

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

A couple of days after my approval I called CSC using the RFE trick and asked them when and if it was shipped to NVC. They were able to tell me.

NVC will not now when CSC sends it, but you should call them about a week after the approval to find out if they received it.

I just received my NOA2 today (Feb 7).

Congratulations! And welcome to the next stage. :dance:
