Mox has explained this few times really well. I am using Mox's idea. Basically, touch doesn't mean much.

Somebody have scanned the document or somebody changed the file - it could mean anything. It is not predictor of what could happen. Hope it helps,

Port of entry for k1 visa holder? Guys, I would like to ask you if my fiancee should go to the non-resident lineline line or resident line (citizen, green card) at the port of entry?

I was thinking that I could go to bring her with me. Now, the plan has changed and she may have to come by herself. I would really appreciate your thoughts.

She's not a resident until she adjusts status, so the non-resident line is most appropriate if she's traveling by herself. If you do manage to travel with her, just ask a customs officer which line you can stand in together.

what I meant to ask then is how do I know that my case was "touched"?

thanks

Touched is when your "Last Updated" date changes on the "USCIS Case Status Online" page. That date represents the last time your petition was "touched."
