Hey Igor,

I thought I would join the crowd. July filers welcome I take it? I could use the help. Not sure exactly how NVC stage works. Also I moved house since filing so is this the stage at which I can register my new address or do I have to contact the embassy in London for that? USCIS doesn't allow the beneficiary to register a change of address.

Thanks,

Tracy

Tracy,

Of course you are welcome here.

Call NVC at: 1-603-334-0700

Press 1 for English, then 2 for Fiancee cases. It'll put you on hold. When it does there will be a brief pause of total silence, don't worry you are not disconnected. If it's too busy it might kick you back out and tell you to call back later, just keep trying. You could also press 5 instead of 2, there's no difference.

When you get a live person, tell them your CSC receipt number and ask them if they received it and when. If they received it they can tell you your new case number, and you'll be able to update the beneficiary's address.

NVC has customer support answering phones Monday through Friday, 8:00 am till midnight eastern time.

Good luck.

--Igor

Hello All,

To match the previously created threads I decided to create one for the August and September filers.

Let's keep in touch and help each other out during this next step of the process.

For reference, here's where you can find previous similar threads:

Pinch me Igor, I'm not sure if I'm still dreaming. Am I really in the advanced lounge of NO2a to NVC? When I receive the hardcopy in the mail will really be the tell tale that the email was not a mistake. So you think I should wait a week before calling to see if NVC received?

Congratulations again! Yeah, I'd wait about 4-5 work days from the date of your NOA2 before calling.

Chuck N Rose, congratulations!

Igo&ELina, Cshaw Mox: What is the best time to call NVC? Should I call NVC or DOS?

Thanks guys

Yes, mornings are good. Also after 6pm has been working for me. Takes a few tries to get through, but eventually you get a live person. So far I've only been calling NVC, didn't need to call DOS.

I called yesterday to the NVC and they said my packet was being fowarded today to the embassy. I am thrilled. Does anyone know where the embassy send the papers the fiancee needs to fill out?

They send 1 to the U.S. citizen and 1 to the foreign citizen. From what I hear, the U.S. citizen will receive packet 3 much sooner than the foreign citizen. Also, if you go to the ciudad juarez embassy site, you can collect all the needed information ahead of time. The appointment letter you will receive in the mail is required in order to get your medical done and go to the embassy. They allow copies of this letter, so when you get it, scan it or fax it and send it to your fiance as soon as possible, in an e-mail.

I got pack3 way sooner than my USC Fiance but that MIGHT vary from country to country.

The only content the petitioner needs to fill out is the Affidavit of Support really. (Pack3 comes with the forms the USC should fill out, but these are also downloadable from the internet)

One thing that helped our case to go a little faster was the fact that as soon as we knew the Case had left NVC, we calculated the estimate time it should get there and I sent the pack3 requested contents ahead of time (Info available onm most country consulate's website)... so that saved us a good few days or weeks and we got our interview date preety fast.

And when I got the pack3 (and pack4 - it all came together) in the mail I knew my interview date from long ago.

And I guess they sent pack3 along with pack4 just because.

Best of luck!
