Why does it always have to be illegal immigration in the news. Could anyone think of away to bring more attention to those of us that are trying to do this legally? What if all of the ones waiting took over the stadium just before the super bowl kick off ? I suspect maybe we would make the third page. Hoping not to many people notice. Sorry for the rant, feeling a little left out. If... john&jean

illegals are the achilles heel of many here...also, global warming...hookers etc.....

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The news media likes to focus on the negative aspect of society since it sells better. People are more captivated by good events than bad ones. This doesn't mean there aren't people who wouldn't like to hear some good news for a change, but in general, the more ghoulish the headline, the more it'll stand out and garner attention.

Because that would bring to the forefront the fact that many who clamor against 'illegal immigration' are really against immigration of any kind.

There are some like that, but I think the majority of people are just simply opposed to the idea of giving a reward for breaking the law. This idea is especially offensive to us who have gone through the process legally.

But even then, legal vs. illegal isn't as black and white as it seems. There are plenty of people on this site who had overstayed visas of various types but were able to eventually attain legal status through marriage.

Our green card journey has been less than straightforward, but I don't feel that gives me the right to pass judgment.

So, do you think those who snuck into the country or overstayed their VISA should be given a place in line ahead of those who didn't?

and terrorists!

FWIW legal immigration makes for boring headlines.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
