@mags: I didn't get any updates on my case since that 1 "touch" in August. That's why I called customer service in December just to make sure that everything is good with my application. They couldn't tell me anything other than what my online case status tells me since May- that its pending at CSC. Then customer service told me to get an infopass apt. in january if I still didn't get any updates by then.

Ah I misunderstood you, when you said "Then, no updates on my AOS til December 2007" I thought that something had changed. My bad! :D

Personally, I'd complain about that lady and then I'd get my elected representatives involved in the case, detailing everything that has happened to you (paying close attention to that Infopass appointment).

I wish you luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I am soooo sorry to hear that.. on my case they lost my paper work I waited and waited and waited the 11 months they ask you to wait and I called and called every day, I was given like you so many different answers until I went to the office with infopass the reason I put on the paper was "speak with an officer about my case" when the officer was unable to track my case he accepted that a lot of cases got lost in CA due the openning of the new office in Chula Vista and several cases were lost in the moving.. I was like... HUH????

so he started to give me this nasty attitude and I didn't argue with him so I asked for his supervisor and here comes this filipino man... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NASTY ATTITUDE... he was denying my green card on my face.. I tried to explain him several times they lost my file.. and he was ready to place a CANCEL stamp on my passport.. I pulled my passport and asked for another supervisor I repeated 100 times they lost my file.. when I asked for a supervisor he left and then he came back with the same attitude and said that they DID lost my case.. he didn't apologize for anything....

BUT I GOT MY GREEN CARD... you need to push buttons, ask for a supervisor... crazy people that treat you like you're trying to rob them... makes no sense.. please be positive... I was told that my green visa will be denied.. because obviously we married for the green card.. he asked me howcome I married a black man ***IN FRONT OF MY HUSBAND **** !!!

He is black and he is 20 years older than me.... This stupid ignorant said..."you're young and cute is obvious you married him for the papers" he is old and black....

well... so horrible experience really don't want to go there again... I'm affraid to apply for citizenship just because I really don't want to stop by their offices...

Please be positive... ask them if by any chance they lost your file.....they know there are 10000 of lost files and they will change their attitude.

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU

here's an update on my dilemma: we went to our congressman in New york City and the lady who helped us was sooooo nice! She called CSC and they confirmed that my case is at their office. They said that the average processing time is 270-300 days though... But that's fine with me as long as they're working on it - I can wait.

Just got home and the nice lady from the congressman's office called and said that she just got off the phone with the supervisor in CA- they're doing my name clearance as I'm typing this and the supervisor was positive that I'd get the GC in the mail within the next 8 weeks!!:dance:

My online status doesn't show an update yet but I am sooo happy and exited that we finally got some answers!!

Also- the congressman said that they hear about the craziest stories of peoples' Infopass experiences every day.

crazy korean lady should be smacked in the face for causing such trouble!!

thank you for all your encouraging mails and replies!! I feel so much better! (L):)

Congrats on getting some useful information. I'd still pursue filing a complaint against the IO, they should not be allowed to get away with that kind of treatment. They think they are untouchable and we are at their mercy. We are not begging for anything that we are not entitled to. We follow the rules, we pay the fees, we demand at the least respect (because we can't demand them to work any faster).

Personally, I'd wait until I had the GC in hand, then I'd go full force with filing complaints & taking it up with whomever I needed to.

Good luck!

first, happy to read that you got some resolution in the works. the most important thing is to get the GC in hand. But I find it sad that they KNOW about this behavior and dont' seem to DO anything. :help:

One thing I would suggest you is to print out everything you could from the USCIS site before they take it off. This way you would have proof that your file did get transferred over to CSC. It will also be required when you will write to your local Rep.

Also, send a written complaint not only to your Congressman/Senator but also to the Ombudsman. He is supposed to take care of these kind of issues. Write the whole matter in as much detail as possible, try naming (if possible) all the people involved and who were witnessing everything.

This kind of behaviour and attitude with immigrants is totally unaccetable.

My prayers are with you and I hope things work out well for you two.

Good luck!
