Thank you for correcting mine! Quick question - we are planning a 2 month trip to Asia and are obviously going to travel with our passports and the NOA1 to get back into the country. Do you know if we need to travel with the actual NOA1 or can we just make a copy and bring it with us? I'm paranoid to lose the original so I was going to travel with several copies in case we lose them. Would that be OK?

No problem! I think a copy would be sufficient. I was thinking about taking the original, but now that you mention it, I don't want anything happening to ours either. We're leaving the country next Friday for 2 weeks and come back 2 weeks before hubby's GC expires, so we definitely need proof that he can remain in the country when we come back.

Biometrics date received today, 7/21 (The letter says the "notice date" is 7/16). Added our case to VSC. By the way I just put 7/1 for "I-751 date" since that is the date the I-751 was received by USCIS. If other people are putting the date their application was mailed, that's fine, but I don't see how it's as useful for others to know that information as it is to know when the application was received and when the NOA1 date is. We know that the NOA1 date seems to be the date received for most people. Any changes here would be more interesting to know about than whether or not someone shipped their application expedited or not. Shipping times don't really help others, is my only point -- so I propose using the date received by USCIS (assuming most people use tracking and have this information) for the "Date of I-751" rather than date shipped. Anyway, best of luck to all! By the way, the biometrics letter reminds you to bring ID! Going by the wording of the document, it seems a driver's license or passport is all that is required. But why not bring both of those, plus the green card!

Also, there are two Application Numbers listed on the form. I looked them up on the USCIS portal website. The first number doesn't return any result. The second number seems to work fine, it says: "On July 1, 2016, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number EAC**********, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case."

*shrug* You've got a point, but I just went by what every other monthly thread went by. I think it's based more on the NOA1 date, and VJ just tries to separate by month for more accurate estimates. Thanks for the tip on bringing the three types of ID to the appointment!

When did everyone receive their biometrics letter? We received our NOA1 a week ago but haven't gotten it yet, wondering how long it will take

I don't know exactly what day it arrived in our mailbox, but our NOA1 is 7/8 and we haven't gotten anything yet either.

@k.dlg, I guess I got the biometrics letter sooner cause I am in California as well? CSC is at Laguna Niguel, and it's about 5 hours (~400 miles) drive from San Jose, CA where I am.

Appointment Letter's Notice Date = 7/16/2016

USPS Postage Stamp Date = 7/18/2016.

The postage took 3 days to reach me. Based on the postage stamp ($0.46). Out of curiousity, I went to USPS.com, then look for Mail & Ship from the top level menu (in dark blue), I clicked on Calculate a Price.

1. Enter the 'from' zip code (CSC's zip code is 92607, it's on the NOA envelops you received) and entered 'to' zip code (my address).

2. Enter Mailing dates. For this I entered the dates based on what was stamped on the letter, and choose the same day (e.g. 7/18/16 is a Monday, so I choose future date that is a Monday).

3. Left all the other fields as default.

4. Select Shape = Letter

5. Enter Weight = 0.5 ounces (just a guess)

Then in the next few screens, it showed "First-Class Mail® Stamped Letter", which is the recommended postage, and it showed $0.47 (pretty close to the stamp postage on the envelop I received). And it also showed expected delivery of 7/28/2016, which is a Thursday. So that's how I kinda figured it out.

Hope this helps.

I hope it arrives soon for you, then you can request for reschedule. Or, since you already have your flight booked etc, do a walk-in. I would suggest bring your trip documents to show proof that you will not be around for the scheduled appointment date. I can't say for sure if they will allow, seems that it's pretty random and differs for ASC in accepting walk-ins. Good luck!

Hello usc85,

The first set of number is the I-751 Receipt Notice (NOA1, confirmation that they received the $ you paid). And on it, the letter mentioned (one of the lower paragraphs):

"Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case on-line at www.uscis.gov...."

That would mean the 2nd set of application number is the one you would use to track your case. Hope this helps.

Also, there are two Application Numbers listed on the form. I looked them up on the USCIS portal website. The first number doesn't return any result. Welp, I just checked the mail on a whim super late today and tada, our biometrics letter was there with an appointment date of 8/2. AGH. Hubs is going to try to walk-in next week before we attempt a reschedule. Luckily our ASC is only 20 minutes away. I thought we were going to have to go to the USCIS office further away.

Due to our update ...
