TROUBLE OBTAINING CASE STATUS - MSC

19 posts in this topic Register to Ask a Question

Is anyone else having any trouble obtaining case status information for an I-130 Petition? I filed on October 23, 2012 and when I check the status, it says that the case can not be found. I have already received my NOA1 and my case starts with MSC.

YES ITS THE SAME FOR ALL OF US MSC PEOPLE... THE ONLY THING CAN DO IS CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AND SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY UPDATES... I HAVE A FILE DATE OF 10/18 AND I WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT MY APPLICATION WAS RECEIVED AND BEING PROCESSED.. HOPE THIS HELPS

i have the same problem. i filed my petition last oct. 21 and i have received the NOA with priority date and it does state that they have received the petition and its on process.

why are we having problems obtaining case status through online even with a receipt number. and what does the priority date mean?

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to USCIS Service Centers forum; topic is about USCIS operations, specifically checking case status online which is applicable to all filings at USCIS and not just one petition type.

I logged on to ask exactly same question!

I filed my AOS on Oct 1 and got NOA on Oct 10. Today was the first time I tried to check the status on line but couldn't.

I wonder if it has anything to do with MSC cuz on the webpage it says "It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC)."

Frustrated...arrrgh

Glad to know I'm not alone! I have an MSC case number as well but it doesn't turn up anything on the UCIS site.

Me too! So frustrating trying to get an update and have to call USCIS every time to find out what the status is of my AOS app.

I just called USCIS again to get an update on my status and the Tier 2 OP told me that it takes approximately 7-8 months start to finish to proces the application. Looks like I won't be receiving my temp GC until March.

Interesting information. My husband (now a USC) has filed an I130 for his child and the receipt did not come with the expected CSC, but MSC. Which apparently means we can't check the status online (I checked earlier) Well, at least it is good to find out we are not the only ones.

I filed last Oct 3 & couldn't check the status of the case up until today ( Dec 12). I was on the phone waiting for the Tier 2 officer to pick up the phone. As I was waiting for more than 30 mins, I continued to checked in the case status & was shocked to see it changed from "Your case cannot be found.." to "Initial Review" with the date Dec 12. I immediately hang up the phone & added the case to my portfolio. I noticed that my other petition for my dad which was approved last Dec 3, the date of last updated changed to today's date. So, this means that the adjudicator has pulled these two cases & is piecing the two together. The FBI is doing a background check of me ( the petitioner). I'm hoping that my petition will be approved within this week.
