Hi. I am a U.S. citizen. I petitioned for my wife and my stepchild (13) years old. I mailed both concurrent applications at the same time. 3 months after filing my wife combo card approve nothing for my daughter. 3weeks ago ago my wife and I went to our AOS interview she was approved on spot but yet nothing for my daughter. Has this happened to anyone? How long before they approve her application?

My wife has recently gotten her appointment scheduled, her daughter was planning to stay and live with her biological dad for a while and didn't want to leave her friends yet. Anyway things have changed it seems as the biological father's family is jealous or something, but my question is can I apply now for a K-4 for my step-child? My wife is at the interview stage so she is not a K-3 visa, can I still file for my step-child to come now? Using the I-129F? Any info one the best way to handle it at this stage would be great! Thanks!

Hello if you've found this post. I haven't seen anything like this so I wanted to start a place where people who submitted for their children can have a place to exchange info on the process. I am filing for my stepchild who lives in Colombia currently. We filed online and our process is being "actively reviewed" at the Texas Service Center. I'll post updates in case this is helpful for people in a similar position. Hopefully theres some people out there that would like to participate in this thread! I'd love to hear if anyone has insight into whats going on regarding these cases at USCIS right now.... Cheers!

Hi VJ Community, I have been searching for information regarding a stepchild adjustment of status, who currently has a pending i-130 with USCI; The dilemma here is that USCIS has the following: "Alternatively, if your stepchild is already in the United States, after USCIS approves your Form I-130, your stepchild may apply to adjust their immigration status to become an LPR by filing Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status," so since the i-130 has not yet been approved, the question is: Can the stepchild adjust status with the pending i-130 (797 - Receipt)? Based on other information I've read he qualifies as an IR of the US Stepparent and as such a visa should be immediately available Thank you all in advance for your help and time

Hi all, For those who have attended the Mumbai embassy interview along with step child. What are the supporting documents the embassy has asked? Do they require a letter for permission from biological father for immigration? Do they ask anything apart from that? Like custody papers? Thanks in advance.
