Rejected I-130 & I-485?

I just received a NOA with a rejection notice. It says it was rejected because the amount is incorrect or has not been provided.\

I sent money orders. Each money order could only be a max of $500 so I sent 3 for I-485: $500 + $500 + $140; and sent 2 for I-130: $500 + $35.

I won't be able to get answers from USCIS until tomorrow and I'm freaking out. Did I receive this because of the multiple money orders or because I did not include the biometrics fee? I thought I read something about paying that later, when an appointment is ready to be made. Am I wrong?

I would see if you could figure out how to get them into ONE payment for each AOS and you MUST include biometrics unless for a child under 14.

Yes, Agreed on the previous post. Try to get the payment in ONE money order. USPS has a max of $1,000. Or you can get a Cashier's Check from your bank. And yes, you have to include the biometrics fee.

Thats the only reason it probably got denied is you have to include the biometrics fee.  Seperate payments should not be an issue many people do that with their money orders.

Thanks y'all! I am gonna contact Western Union and USCIS tomorrow.

Just another lesson learned on carefully getting all your facts right.

My husband has comforted me to the fact it's all still okay, just a small mistake that will soon be fixed.

I have seen people getting their applications rejected for using too many money orders, so aside from the fact that you sent them the wrong amount (you forgot the biometrics fee), it could also be because of too many money orders.

Definitely send a personal check in the correct amount instead, that way you can also see when they cash it.

It can take 6 weeks to get money back from the money orders, we don't have it available in the bank and I'm now almost out of status so wanna file ASAP. I don't think this is an option :/

But you didnt pay for biometrics did you? Then that was the problem, not that you used several money orders.

I don't want to risk any more rejections. They advised me to go ahead and do a check instead so that's what I'm doing. I just don't know how to organized them now...

Did you pay biometrics last time? yes or no? Because if you didnt thats why they sent it back to you.

Sure, you can send a personal check next time, but make sure you pay for biometrics as well.
