RFE AT INTERVIEW - MEDICAL EXAM

My husband had his medical exam

in Jamaica on December 23, 2016! Our interview was yesterday 10.16.2017. However, we received an RFEbecause he was not tested for Gonorhea or syphullus. Can someone please help me on what I should do. The officer stated that all I need to do is get him tested and bring back the paper to him. 

 

Can I just text him for the gonorhea and have those results added to the DA-3025 by a civil curgeon or does my husband need a brand new medical exam ? 

 

His DS-3025 is still within the year. The doctors around here are asking for 500$ for a full medical exam or 200$ for just the gonorhea exam.

 

the RFE states:  :Starting August 01, 2016, the center for Disease Control (CDC) changed its policy on the Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination record. The new policy states that all Form I-693s must have the Gonorrhea test performed and the results must be annotated in the Remarked section of Part 5, Civil Surgeon Worksheet, Section C, other class a/b Conditiond for Communicable Diseases of Public Health Significant regardless if gonorrhea is found or not. The Form I-693 that you submitted does not meet this requirement. Please return to a USCIS Civil surgeon to have a new medical exam. You must submit the new original form and any original supplement completed by the Civil surgeon ( to include the laboratory results) to us.  You and the Civil Surgeon must sign the form, and it must be send to us in a sealed envelope from the Civil Surgeon. If the Civil Surgeon refers you to a specialist, the exam by the specialist must be included, and the socialist must complete the proper sections of the Form I-693.

DS-3025 is completed by Panel Physician at the foreign country and not Civil Surgeon. Does his DS-3025 have a check mark on "US vaccinations requirement COMPLETE" ?

If the DS3025 is marked complete then no new medical is needed. If not then yes.
The AOS has to be submitted within a year of the medical overseas.

The DS3025 is marked completed in the bottom with an X. So I am unsure exactly what the officer wants me to do.

The DS-3025 states in the bottom "US VACCINATIONS REQUIREMENT COMPLETE" and has a box with an X filled in.

I think the G and S test was implemented after you got your medical done perhaps ? Or the panel physician forgot to test or include the results
in the sealed envelope with the rest of the medical.
I would look for a CS who agrees to only do the G and S test and take the DS3025 with you (if you still have a copy) to show your vaccs are complete.
If that is not possible then you should get the whole medical done or risk being denied.
You can try to explain to the CS that K1's aren't required to have a new medical (print out the regulations found in pinned post)
but that you only need the 2 remaining tests. Your DS3025 vaccinations are complete. The tests go with the medical and appear to be missing.

Agree with @Ebunoluwa and good that your DS-3025 is still valid until December 2017. Try to find one here...

Well, you stated “ The officer stated that all I need to do is get him tested and bring back the paper to him.“ 

 

That seems to indicate a full medical is not needed, only the tests.

I’m not familiar with the medical for the AOS. Was just wondering if you were sure he didn’t get tested? My husband had his medical and interview in Oct 2016 and I remember he paid extra fees for the gonorrhea test. The cost of the medical went up bc of it.

I called the embassy clinic in Jamaica. I asked the nurses to please make sure she gives me the entire amount for everything necessary. She said for the full medical exam, it will be $250. And that is what I send my husband to get his medical with.  She assured me that they comply with all necessary vaccines and blood work.  

 

I called a tier 2 officer today. She explained that the gonorhea test is shown in the I-693 form that was sealed and my husband had to give the immigration officer when entering the states. However, she said that the interviewer might of not known but to just comply with what he is asking for because he is the one approving us!

Wow it’s unfortunate he would have to take again if he already got it. I remember it went into effect Oct 1 last year as a requirement and they said the medical would take an extra week to come back. But what can you do other than spend the extra unnecessary money?🤷🏽‍♀️ My husband always says its a money making machine over here.🤣

The test results might have never been included or gotten lost somewhere along the way or something. There is no need to worry and overthink it further. The immigration officer sounds like he told you exactly what he needs. I recommend you find an affordable civil surgeon, talk through what you exactly want from him/her, get the testing done and get the results to your IO officer as quickly as possible. The link below that @Aviinashh posted earlier can help you find an affordable civil surgeon in your area. You can also search on the official USCIS website https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor.

Make a list of a few civil surgeons in your area and give them a call to find out about their rates and medical exam procedures.

That STD test requirement became enforced around November of 2016 (forgot the exact date).  If you had filed AOS BEFORE that date then it would not have been required.  My wife had to do the STD test since we waited until January 2017 to file AOS, despite having been married since October the previous year.  We just got caught in the cogs of a changing system...
