Hi, good afternoon. How does someone contact congressman? Is it illegal? Do we have to pay them?

It's not illegal.  Check out your congressman's website for contact.  Be advised that many AOS are backed up right now and many adjusting from a k1 do not get an interview but take longer to get the greencard.  Be patient

So, you are saying It's a possibility we might not get an interview, but receive green card. But it will take longer. Are you adjusting?

I'm sorry, I was born impatient.

Welcome to the US.  Things work differently here than in many places in the world.

It's not illegal to contact your congressman for help.

It is illegal for a congressman to take money for help.  That's bribery and a crime in the US.  Not only would the congressman be in trouble, the payer would also be in trouble.

it is not illegal to contact any congressional member.

it is however illegal to give them money or any other form of payment, both you and the congressman will get in trouble. it is also illegal to offer any sort of bribe if it is taken or not.

thanks

As stated before it is not Illegal to contact your Congressman and they do NOT accept any type of money. I see that you filed for AOS so you are still within the normal time frame for Adjustment of Status because it can take anywhere from 8-12 months on average. My wife's AOS took over 10 months before we found out she was approved for AOS

I agree it does stink that we have to wait so long for the case to be adjudicated. Have you done biometrics yet?
