Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesHello guys I m new here wish I knew about this place sooner but anyway!
I m from Portugal and my fianc from the US we did the entire process and now just what s left is my medical and interview!
medical is soon in a few days.
I ve spent long periods of time with him cause I m just finishing college so I could and we decorated our future home, got cats, we have a venue booked for the wedding. Have met each others parents more than once spent holidays with them like Christmas and Easter. Had an engagement party made for us. This for saying that I have a literal book of pictures and proof and we are very much anxious to finally be together with no deadlinesI am extremely nervous for the interview and I just came seeking success stories and reassurance so I can remain calm until then lol
Our process was followed by a lawyer too.
We are flying together ( even if he can t enter the embassy) to Paris in June for the interview.
Hope everything is going great for everyone here we all know how taxing it can be to just wanna be with your soulmate and have it be delayed

5 RepliesHello Everyone!
I am hoping to get some ideas on domicile and I-864. My husband and I are still going through the I130 process (filed on December 23). I am trying to prepare for reestablishing domicile, and the I 864. I am living with my husband here in Honduras, and we plan on leaving when he has his visa at the same time. I have been working at an international school for the last 6 years and have been using the foreign tax credit when filing my taxes. I have a permanent address in the US and a voting record. I am wondering if I will have to start paying taxes again (no more tax credit) or just use my tax forms as proof that I have filed. My current income is above the poverty guidelines. I also have a Last Will and Testament with my husband's name on it. I also own a car in the US.
Is there anything else I may need to prove domicile?
I am also starting a small business and I am wondering if a business tax ID and fictitious name establishment can be used as evidence. In addition, my husband already has the possibility of employment.
Any insight is helpful.

2 RepliesI applied for the CR1 visa for my wife May 2023. USCIS received the I- 130 form but I haven t heard anything back yet. It s now going on a year from applying. On the USCIS website it went from 1 week estimated time on the case decision to reading as of today 2 months.
I am feeling hopeless in this situation being that my wife and I have a 4 year old child together and I am unable to spend time with him being that he is with my wife in her country. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on expediting the process?

1 RepliesI submitted my DS-160 and booked a visa appointment but have just realised that after the website refreshed during my application I only put my University for the education section. I forgot to re-type my secondary school. I also missed out one of the countries that I've visited in the last 5 years.
I was so sure I reviewed it properly Is there anything I can do now?
