Comments : Scheduled Medical Exam by email. Quick response. Sent original email at 7:30am and by 10am was scheduled. Sent between 3 emails in total back and forth. Asking for information about beneficiary, case number, along with interview and biometrics dates. Was told I must schedule 5 days before interview.

Calendar allows you to schedule biometrics immediately after picking interview date. Must be before interview date.

Medical Exam date : 04-23-2024

Had medical exam yesterday, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be cost wise but each person's case is different. Total cost for us was about 831,000 COP. We went to Dr. Jairo in Usaquen. It was definitely an all day process. Appt was at 9:30am and we were there until about 12pm. X-rays, vision test, reviewing documents, blood tests. Then made an appointment for 3:30 to come back and get scene by the doctor. Was there for about 2 hours. Then told to come back the day before interview at 5pm to collect our documents.

Just a heads up, Bogota traffic is very crazy so make sure to account for that when traveling.

Biometrics : 04-29-2024

Just checked the lawfully app today and saw our i29f was approved so should be getting NOA2 soon. We feel like we have been waiting forever but this gives us some hope.

We had to send an inquiry to the NVC to get our case assigned. Sent inquiry Jan 28th, 2024. Received response and welcome letter within hours on January 30th, 2024.

We got our K1-FTP January 30th, 2024. What day did you get yours? Are you planning on joining her for the interview?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-13 said:
@Ricardo just got the welcome letter from embassy today after filling out DS160 and paying visa fee on ais.usvisa-info.com
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-13 said:
Wow awesome we got our welcome letter yesterday 02/12/24 so you got your embassy packet 10 business days later so then I should get mine end of February so have you got a interview date scheduled? And no I can't attend with her for the interview as I am in the Military don't get to go with her
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-14 said:
Once you are in Ready status from NVC, fill out DS160, then pay the visa fee... I literally got the welcome letter from embassy within minutes. I think that kick started it. You need to add your case number from NVC (i.e. BGT******) and the confirmation number from DS160. I filled out DS160 last night at like 2am and created the account on that site above and this afternoon at like 4pm payed the fee and got the letter. Haven't scheduled interview yet putting some travel plans together now. Dates are starting April 12th right now. It only shows one month availability, so nothing for May yet. I am thinking to schedule something this week.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-14 said:
So when it shows ready on NVC does it show a link of where to fill out the DS160? And also do you need to submit a passport photo of your fiancee? Or would she need to bring those to the us embassy interview? What forms did the ds160 ask for?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-14 said:
I have been watching alot of Diego and Karina's videos on youtube and they have helped a lot with the process. They just went through the process and he has videos on everything. https://www.youtube.com/@diegoross You have to do DS-160 here. https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ You do need to submit passport photo but it can be the same one you used for I-129f. I literally took the photo of her with a white wall and just cropped it. The ds-160 tool has a place to crop it as well. She will need to get those passport photos for the medical exam. I believe it is 4 photos. DS 160 does not ask for forms but you need to add personal info, family info, education, work history, and background questions.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-14 said:
So for proof of income my taxes she will need to bring that with her for the interview correct and ok thanks. So the DS160 I can complete it now or do I have to wait till embassy contacts me?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-14 said:
Yeah taxes for sure. They have a video on i-134 as well. Definitely do the DS160 now and create the account on the site above and pay the fee.. You will immediately be able to pick an interview date and then you will be get the email shortly after.

Even if in NVC still shows in transit I was told to wait for embassy packet so that's not correct?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-14 said:
Oh no. Wait for ready status first. I thought you were in ready Status.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-14 said:
No not yet we are still in transit status

Question on the police clearance my fiance was able to obtain hers online it has no signature or anything she said she got it online. Also does it need to be translated in English?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-15 said:
yes. it is a form from online. No it doesnt need to be translated. You will be fine with what she has. My fiance has the same thing.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-15 said:
Awesome just want everything to go well let me know how it goes did you choose a date yet?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-15 said:
Yup we chose April 30th. Just added some info in the comments about medical exam too.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-15 said:
So on the 30th will be your medical exam too? Also is there a lot of open availability for appointments?

Wow so it gives you options for biometrics and then the actual interview. So only one you need to email is medical? And they provide the email on the packet?
ElliottTheGreat on 2024-02-15 said:
Yes. They are listed on bogota embassy site as well.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-15 said:
Awesome I will probably have more questions come the DS160 haha thanks for all your help man I just want to make sure everything is right.
Ricardo & Leidy on 2024-02-15 said:
So it's "Ready" got the status reading that sooner then I thought so now I do the DS160 that correct? Do I need to submit the password photos on that site?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
