Here I am writing to y'all from my work place in Houston, Texas.

I reached here on June 25, 2016.

The immigration process went lighting. I arrived at George Bush International Airport, and then further, guided to join the line with the visitors. I was attended within 15 minutes.

The officer asked me for my finger prints and asked for my IV packet that I handed over to him right away.

He asked me to wait for an officer. The second officer took me into this room with three officers and handed over my IV packet to them. They updated my data in their system within 5 minutes or so.

and I was in with IV stamp.

The officer greeted me with a smile and a hand shake "Welcome to The USA".

and here I am sitting in my Houston office, working from here.

Feels great to be with my family.

@DWheels. Let me know if you need any further info regarding POE.

awesome. In your office thats cool. Congratulations and welcome to America.

Exactly - just like they lost the W-2, they could lose a more difficult-to-replace paper =S

I just wanted to take some time to thank everyone in this forum for their assistance throughout this process. My wife had her interview this morning and we have been approved!! She said it was very fast, only lasting 3-4 minutes. It sounds like they basically asked 2 questions: how we met and what I do for a living (both with simple follow-on and related questions). They then looked through the pictures and asked where we got married. They told her she was approved and happy travels. She claims they then took her passport and advised it should be ready for pickup within 2 weeks.

Thanks again everyone and for those still navigating through the process, rest assured it's just a waiting game at this point and it will all be over soon.

Congratulations. That's wonderful news. Way to start off Monday.

Thank you :luv: I think I'm going to add a date cutoff there, so people can see more recent interview scheduling (instead of ALL scheduling) should they choose. If there are any other suggestions, please let me know!

BTW, it's ALL JavaScript, so anyone that wants to copy/paste the source code or review it (it's messy, sorry, I don't normally work with JS) - please feel free. Note that in order to work with Google Sheets API you will have to replace the clientId as that clientId will only work from the listed domain.

If you wan to get true numbers try omitting anything that's in column I (which are other visa types than IR1/CR1). Cuz there are alot of F2A category that are long waits that kind of throw off the numbers (I think). If Column I is blank that's a CR1/IR1

I called this morning and they say it is still not ready!

let me know when you get a date... because if you have a date, so do i. I'm counting on you lol :goofy: I cannot deal with the added stress of calling everyday and hearing nothing.

Now you have seen the spreadsheet and see the 60 to 90 days wait for Jamaica. There still April people waiting. So please be patient.

that's weird because so many May people got interview dates. hmmm

Hello!

I've got a question about the financial documents one needs to bring to the interview. In the email I received about the appontment notice it reads:

"EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Please have the U.S. Petitioner provide a copy of his U.S. federal income tax return for 2015.

In addition, please have your financial joint sponsor provide both the U.S. federal income tax return for 2015 and his W2 form for 2015. Should he be unable to provide a W2 for 2015, we will ask that his/her household member (with whom he’s filing joing tax return), complete form I-864A, contract between sponsor and household member. Form I-864A can be accessed at www.uscis.gov"

My questions are

  • So, my husband didn't make enough to file taxes last year so we were going to write a letter/note explaining that he didn't make enough and therefore didn't file taxes with a photocopy of information from his bank about his dividends last year. Is that OK?
  • Further, does my husband need to fill in a new I-864?
  • Secondly, my joint sponsor (my father-in-law) has his W2 and has sent for the transcript of his taxes. Is that the tax return they ask for? Or is that a different document? And will HE have to fill in a new I-864?

I don't want to have to make them go through loads of extra work, but I also want to get it right! :)

thx!

Good call - updated it to reflect that. Maybe I'll add a dropdown later in case people want to see non-IR1/CR1 as well.

thanks for this

You're quite welcome! After dwheels' suggested change it makes it a little better. Hopefully it's trending towards quicker (which gives me another idea for the page...)
