Doing everything perfect is not a guarantee of success!

Our packet was perfect

After filling my DS-260 and hearing nothing my wife called NVC, turns out that although my DS-260 was complete it hadn't shown up as complete!

Sooooooo after once again hearing nothing, she called again to 'oh we have been waiting for YOU to contact us, your husbands divorce certificate is missing!!' Well we knew this wasn't the case as like everyone else we cross checked everything a dozen times, but to satisfy them we expedited a fresh copy overnight

Sooooo we hear nothing, another call and they tell us that they did have a copy of my divorce certificate but didn't realise that what it was!!!! So my very patient wife went through the wording and finally they realised...............

We at last got CC on 21 July and await my interview

People please be patient, it is an appalling drain on your life, it is not a quick process, but never ever lose hope it will happen

Many cases take longer to be completed not because the applicants did something wrong, but very often because the USCIS/NVC messed something up along the way.

If you think logically, people with older priority dates have been away from their spouses for much longer. I doubt anyone would do that on purpose..

We have done everything right the first time, just like you. We overnighted everything to USCIS and NVC, paid fees the minute they were available, triple-checked all forms.

We never got a RFE or a Checklist for anything we did wrong, but we've been unlucky to:

- have our I-130 sent to the Nebraska Service Center (which is never faster than 5 months for the NOA2);

- dealt with NVC's website issues that prevented us from filling our DS-260 for over a month;

- had the NVC lose our police certificates (even though we wrote the case number on the top corner, as advised). We had to mail again, adding another 30 days for review;

USCIS is luck of the draw. Lots of people waited 5+ months for their approvals for cases with no RFEs (mine included, thanks Nebraska!). NVC is a whole other ballpark, especially after the system failure (some are still waiting for their DS260s to be reviewed more than a month after the problem was "fixed" and their forms were submitted). It's definitely not an even playing field, all things considered.

(I'm just a bitter 2014 filer, don't mind me. :devil: )

I'm sorry to hear that from you both! I guess my assumption is if the system works out well and seamless, as it should - but usually never does.

Enjoy this weekend - there's always next week and another chance for us to get interviews!

I had my interview in Montreal Canada on aug 12th and I was so pleased with my interview :thumbs: , but my status say AP every since that day :rolleyes: . Has anyone who were approved right then but not giving any kind form or explanation put under AP? And mind you he kept my passport (Canadian citizen) and told me I will receive it back in 2 to 3 weeks with the visa. If anyone have any info on this topic I would appreciate your input. :idea:

No I have not and it will not happen. The lateness is just like last month look ad you will see it started on Tuesday 7/14 -7/17 . It was wild. So I am holding on to next week. I think this is what NVC calls second round. Would guess interviews will be slated to end of September.
