A good number of embassy staff at New Delhi (at least in the public dealings) is.. Indians.

American Citizen Services staff at the Delhi embassy I dealt with last year were a mix of "americans" and "indians". Therefore, your statement could be rephrased as "American embassy dili walon ki bhi" :D

lol.. I know very well. When I went there to pick up my son, I dealt with Pakistani embassy, Canadian embassy and US embassy. Canadian embassy had mostly Indians, but probably Canadian citizens. US embassy had mostly Indians. Plus Nehru place that does most preliminary work for most embassies is fully Indian. Even the KLM airlines counters at airport were all pure Indians. All of them attempt to pull some Indian stunts (like red-tapering) but then in the end they do what their boss country ask them to do.

When I went to US embassy with Pakistani passport for my son, Indian behind the counter first looked at it, made a bad face, but immediately wiped out his expressions and handed over the passport to a white American who asked me the questions.

I can imagine every scenario playing as you described at the various embassies in Delhi.

I just completed my daily call in about an interview a few minutes ago. It only took me a few minutes to get through this time. She once again confirmed my case (CR-1) was closed July 22nd and was told I would be emailed once an interview has been scheduled.

So did I. I am a MTL filer. No interview yet. CC May 12. I hear that emails are coming quicker now, so at least we don't have to call so often?

Look to the Visa type columns. Anyone going through NVC like F2A, EB (I don't add student or sibling Visa types)

One thing you have to consider if you see a CC after you get a date before you look at their NOA1 (PD date) that is when that PD comes into play. Or it could have been an expedite, or like mentioned a different type.

Right now its very obvious they are doing something different. I have read on Facebook in one of the groups all the embassies are doing a new upgrade to their system and this may be greatly effecting IR1/CR1 type visas.

But honestly this is keeping in line with how NVC schedules. Looks like they are going back to their 2nd week of the month scheduling style.

All I can say to help ya'll is stay tuned, good news will come so just be ready to pounce when you get that P4 letter.

I thought this is the case. I have seen several MTL filers with CC after mine, already have their interviews - but their NOA1 were back in 2014 whereas mine was in 2015.

With Montreal consulate, I think it has to do with Priority date. My Cc was June 16 and there were 2 people with a June 26/ June 29 Cc but they got an interview date last month for August interview. Sucks huh???

I agree it should go by CC, if it's by NOA1. I'd like to think I am a more simple case, and I did everything right the first time with submission of documents and not getting an RFE - only to have to wait longer for an interview than everything else before it.

Many cases take longer to be completed not because the applicants did something wrong, but very often because the USCIS/NVC messed something up along the way.

If you think logically, people with older priority dates have been away from their spouses for much longer. I doubt anyone would do that on purpose..

We have done everything right the first time, just like you. We overnighted everything to USCIS and NVC, paid fees the minute they were available, triple-checked all forms.

We never got a RFE or a Checklist for anything we did wrong, but we've been unlucky to:

- have our I-130 sent to the Nebraska Service Center (which is never faster than 5 months for the NOA2);

- dealt with NVC's website issues that prevented us from filling our DS-260 for over a month;

- had the NVC lose our police certificates (even though we wrote the case number on the top corner, as advised). We had to mail again, adding another 30 days for review;
