Some news for today. Synopsis - I-130 left Dallas office yesterday headed to NVC (and not NRC).

I got a phone call from the USCIS Congressional Liason (a human at the local Dallas USCIS Office)

this morning, he told me he's calling because my ILS human in my congressman's office asked that he call me.

He told me that the casefile left yesterday, on it's way to NVC.

I said, 'Great! Please verify for me? Can walk the building, have a look?'

and he said SURE! I'll call you back !

20 minutes later he calls me back, telling me he checked the file room and the mail room and has proof that the casefile left yesterday on it's way to NVC, verifying all with the mail clerk and the I-130 adjudication unit. He told me that it probably took a lot of time to create the A-File, as my casefile was about 9 inches thick. And he told me that most likely it'll hit the door at NVC on Tuesday next week.

Prior stuff ..

Yesterday I went into the local office circa 12:45 and couldn't get in, but the security guards called around and told me the casefile left the building, they not have it any longer.

Yesterday, circa 2:00 PM, emailed my ILS person again, followed up with phone call immediately after.

Yesterday - circa 4:45 PM - called USCIS , got an ISO, and they told me they don't know where the casefile is. Also told me can't determine if headed to NRC or NVC. (NRC is bad, kiss of death, fwiw) Escalation made to supervisor, with a promise of a call-back from an ISO Supervisor. (no call back, to date).

So, I'm gonna relax a bit, have a great weekend of cooking. Y'all be sweet now, y'hear?

<End of Report>

I'm a bit late but I too received my NOA1 in October...sadly I am still waiting...2 days from 7 months. I havent had an RFE's and I've called USCIS countless times, talking to level two and I had an infopass appointment where they finally tell me last week that they want to do a local interview with me but wouldnt let me know when it would be...i have since submitted assistance with the CIS Ombudsman...this is getting more difficult by the day...

sometimes, somedays, i felt like i was throwing a bucket of paint up against a 1000 ft wall, just watch the spray pattern with no results.

I learned to ask pointed questions at the infopass, and learned how to knock the people behind the windows out of their comfort zone.

The people behind the windows are NOT the people handling adjudication, and is useful to get them to actually do some work for you, as opposed to them keeping in their auto-track of bullsh|t answers.

Here's my list of questions - perhaps you can refactor them a bit and use them, on yer next infopass appointment:

Thanks anything is worth a try at this point. For the longest I couldnt even schedule an infopass appointment with the Washington field office because everything was booked, then all of a sudden I could. Then they hit me with the local interview nonsense and couldnt really tell me why...:( im praynig that the Ombudsman can get me to the next step...

Some movement. On today's phone call into NVC, the NVC TeleOperator tells me the casefile has been logged in as being 'in the building'.

[and of course to wait 10 to 20 more business days]

Yay !

[How to make a new buddy? Keep em laughing, ingratiate yerself, never curse, and always speak something in their native language about cooking food]
