(Took two weeks from submitting packet 3 to get interview date). We had to reschedule the interview two more times...final interview date was May 12, 2009. Every time we requested an interview date by email, London gave us a new one within 24 hours.Previous times the interview dates were scheduled, packet 4s arrived within ~4 days since dates were assigned. For our final May 12 date, packet 4 was sent April 24th and we received 5 days after. *Medical: 04/24/2009: Medical-Bentick Mansions: Painless and successful *Interview: Went without the passport (because of the hell we dealt with, aka UKHO) Approved (pending passport). Given 221(g) for passport submission ONLY (no indication of AP/AR) *Sent passport to London: 06/11/2009: SMS Courier service picked up passport for US Embassy 06/12/2009: Passport delivered to the US Embassy (SMS confirmed by phone & online tracking) 06/15/2009: DOS confirms that passport has been entered in embassy's system as of today *Desperate attempts to figure out why my fiance's visa has not been issued: 07/13/2009- 07/23/2009: contacted London by phone, emails, post, congressman/senator inquiries initiated: We are finally told that fiance is in AP. *London does phone investigation: 07/24/2009:CO-London called me-USA. 1/2 hour conversation: asked me same questions that my fiance was asked at the time of his interview. 07/25/2009: Congressional inquiry tells us that London is "verifying his qualifications for the visa". 08/01/2009: Senatorial inquiry tells us that "his case is under review by the Immigrant Visa Unit (London)" and they will "contact him directly regarding his visa". 08/06/2009: Emailed London with updated contact information and request to find out what is going on with AP. Also called SMS and updated contact information successfully. *DOS: last update in system is as of July 28, 2009--can't tell me what the update is, but that is the last date of the case update in the system, so I initiated 2nd congressional inquiry to DOS/London. *Email received from London: 08/18/2009:London finally emailed us saying they have updated the contact info in his file and that his case is still under review by a consular officer, there is no time frame on how much longer it is going to take (this email is in reply to our 08/06/09 email we sent them). 08/20/2009: We both sent separate emails to London informing of UK FLRS expiry in Nov 2009 and requesting expediting consular review of case. 08/26/2009: London replied to both our emails: He is in administrative processing, they will contact us when it is completed. They understand that we are pressed for time. 09/14/2009: DOS-Jessica made inquiry on my behalf (call back on Fri to ask for update) Also, emailed: First Lady, Vice President 09/15/2009: Mailed snail mail to DOS: Mrs. Clinton, Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary; Snail Mail to (London): CG & CG OMS. Congressman Roskam called me, initiated another phone inquiry to DOS for my fiance. 09/16/2009: DOS SAYS VISA ISSUED TODAY (Out of AP after 4 months and 4 days)BUT THEN I CALLED AGAIN AND THEY TELL ME IT IS STILL PROCESSING!?!? 09/17/2009: DOS confirms that we are still in AP. Also, embassy requested some forms from my fiance as of Sept 15, 09...We emailed embassy asking what is going on/what forms? 09/18/2009: London replied to fiance's email: they want the DS-157 form, emailed as an attachment. He emailed a new DS-157 as an attachment today. 09/21/2009: Congressional inquiry sent to London. (The phone inquiry was forgotten.) 09/22/2009: DOS rep tells me that case has been approved and transferred to NIV unit, just waiting on completion of administrative process. Still need to find out whether DS-157 has been entered into the system... 09/23/2009: New DS-157 has not been entered into the system as of yet. Case in Administrative Processing...Received Letter#1 (Copy of Congressional Inquiry to DOS), staff worker worded the inquiry incorrectly, DOS misunderstood, but I called congressman's staff worker, she said that DOS replied that his case is still in Administrative Processing. Waiting for Letter#2 in my hands (reply to the inquiry). 09/24/2009: DOS says DS-157 still not in system yet! So will send one by post tomorrow! Also: Sept 16, 09 is the date when case was transferred from IV to NIV for printing and issuance! 09/25/2009: Sent DS-157 (again, but this time by post) via Royal Mail recorded, should get to the embassy by Mon, Tues the latest. 09/29/2009: DOS still says DS-157 is not in the system. Royal Mail shows that the postal DS-157 is still undelivered as of today. Faxed request for a detailed inquiry to Senator Durbin's office today. 09/30/2009: London calls my fiance, still no DS-157 received by them so requested to fax over one today. Fiance faxed over DS-157 to London today. Also, Royal Mail shows proof of delivery that DS-157 via post was also delivered in London today. 10/01/2009: Letter received (dated Sept 24, 09) from Public Inquiry Division-DOS in response to my letter (Sept 14, 09) to Assistant Secretary Janice Jacobs. (Saying the same old "Admin Processing" stuff that congressional/senatorial inquiries have stated before). 10/02/09: DOS says that London has received DS-157 and responded to senatorial inquiry (my fax to Sen. Durbin). 10/03/09: Letter from Sen. Durbin Received. DOS/London says that AP is complete, case is in NIV: mandatory AP in Washington. 10/06/2009: Call to DOS confirms that his case in in Washington in AP. 10/08/2009: The DS-157 shows up in the system TODAY. Also, received a letter via post by the Chief Consular Officer in London (in response to my letter I sent her a while back) saying Admin Review ended on Sept 24, 2009 and his case has been on Admin Processing since that date, and London is waiting on a response from DOS/Washington,DC (clearance) so that they can issue his visa. 10/14/2009: Received a letter via post from London (in response to my letter to Hilary Clinton that I sent on 9/15/09)It is dated Oct 05, 09 and says that my fiance's AR is complete but he has been put in mandatory AP, there is no time limit. 10/16/2009: DOS says embassy put a note about receiving the passport today in the system (although they have had it since June 12, 09) DOS sent an email note to London regarding this. Also received a letter (via post) from DOS dated Oct 02, 09 in reply to my letter to Deputy Sec. James Steinburg saying that my fiance is in AP ( this is in reply to my Sept 15, 09 letter to him). 10/27/2009: Initiated Senatorial inquiry request via fax to Senator Burris. 11/02/2009: DOS says the last note for an update is October 29, 2009. The note just says pending admin processing, nothing else. 11/03/2009: Called Sen Burris office, left message, no one called back. 11/04/2009: Called Sen Burris office AGAIN, left message, no one called back. Also mailed out 4 letters again for requesting answers to my questions to: Sec. Clinton, Assist. Sec. Jacobs, Deputy Sec. Steinburg, & Chief-CIU London. 11/05/2009: Faxed request for inquiry to Congressman Roskam. Still have not heard back from Sen. Burris Office! Also faxed letter to US Embassy in London with the same questions. I called Senator Durbin again, left a message, got a call back saying that she will contact DOS and ask about the exact procedure on how to transfer case from London to ISB. 11/06/2009: Received email from London IV unit (in response to our fax to London 11/05) saying they received clearance for my fiance and will issue visa shortly, it will be sent out with courier service within next few days. Confirmed this information twice with DOS. Also Senator Durbin's office called me back saying that she emailed London reminding them about his UK student visa expiring on Nov 30, 09 and she said this should push things along faster. 11/09/2009: DX Courier tracking confirms that visa is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow!
