I love living off my spouse's money and happily for me...he loves me spending it
I think regardless of my outcome, my life will be pretty much the same and trust me when you are dealing with kids there is no such thing as a vacation.

In some places you CAN study, you'll just be paying high fees (for not being a permanent resident) but that depends on the college.
You CAN drive for a period on your home countries licence. It depends again on your state rules so you'll need to ask about that because somtimes you'll need an IDP (international drivers permit) as well as a licence.
You CAN do volunteer work, you CAN take up a hobby. You also have 6 months to ENTER the US on the K1 so you have that chance to "save up" money if you are worried about spending your spouses money.
Mostly though I'm a little confused about why you're having issues with spending your spouses money... its YOUR money too.. you're married. If you're concerned you should be discussing this with your spouse. I haven't had a job in the 18 months i've been here and Tony supports me and is 100% fine with that (joint decision for reasons I won't go into). I only just this week finalised my US drivers licence. WE bought a house (yes he pays the mortgage but it's OUR house because we're married).
It gets a little boring but it's not forever.

Ok, for arguments sake, let's say you get your NOA2 tomorrow, and let's also suppose (also just for arguments sake) that your timeline follows the exact timescales of a recent London person...me! Ok so that would make NOA2 date 30th March. Which would give you an interview date of 16th May. Now after that it will take anything up to 2 weeks to get your passport back. Let's say 1 week, as it's kind of around that at the moment. So that would mean you would be able to travel on May 24th or thereabouts. So that's 5 days within time for the wedding.
Now I consider my timeline to have gone quickly since the NOA2, so even on those timescales it is CLOSE! Don't forget you may be put in AP along the line somewhere. Also, it is possible you may get an RFE!
I think you really have to think of Plan B. Even if it did go as per the 'argument sake' scenario, how do you invite guests to the wedding when you don't even know if it will happen until 5 days prior?! I really hope you can re-schedule without losing much money. If it was me, that's what I would do. It will probably save you a lot of stress.
    Good luck!

If he's been clean for 26 years then he's got a pretty good chance of getting the I-601 waiver based on it being more than 15 years since his crime and that he's been rehabilitated. If your dad hasn't already submitted his B2 visa application then he should get off his duff now and do it, and then have the I-601 prepared so he can submit it as soon as his visa is denied. Cases that don't depend on hardship tend to be decided more quickly since they are less subjective.
I'm going to go against the tide and disagree with most everyone else in this thread.
If it means a lot to your dad then I would give him a little time to get the I-601 submitted and a decision made. If it gets within a month of your visa expiring then go ahead and leave for the US. You and your fiancee will have the rest of your lives together, but your marriage is a once in a lifetime event. It will probably mean a lot to your dad if you can at least give him a chance to try.

K1 is a fiance(e) visa. If the K1 visa holder marries prior to entering the USA, they are no longer a fiance(e). They are a spouse. For a spouse to use a K1 visa to enter the USA is a crime called visa fraud. They can be deported and banned for life from the USA.
The terms of the visa require that the foreigner enter the USA unmarried, then marry the petitioner IN the USA within 90 days. Anybody suggesting anything written in my preceding sentence can be changed, is misleading you. Marriage AFTER the 90 days is allowed but it changes how the foreigner adjusts status to permanent resident.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I didn't think I was jumping the gun with my second marriage, at the time, but it didn't take long for my hindsight to override my foresight.

I see what you are saying. Being a relatively new poster here myself I know how trying it can be. We've been waiting for over six months now. But when someone who's filed and waited a few weeks starts whining about how unfair it is to have to wait that long, I keep thinking that they need a taste of reality. Perhaps it's the US attitude of I want it now, but they need to know that things might take a long time.
So telling someone to just stop the ranting and wait is really not a harsh thing to say. It's more of a wake up and smell the coffee statement.
Trust me, I can feel their pain, but some of them are just stiring things up and trying to get others stirred up about something that is really out of all our control.
    Just my opinion.

You just filed in February and are already agitating to speed things up? How will you feel after a few more months? Some get approved quickly, but the majority have something of a wait. It might be a little early to get so up in arms. Just be thankful you are not going through the Vermont Service Center.

Sorry man, I'm at work and I can't read through millions of pages of confusing government instructions at the minute (which, for your information, I've already printed out and highlighted so I could ask questions on here for the parts I'm uncertain about). I'm sorry if answering one question was so difficult for you. There are a LOT of pages of instructions for the AOS process and it's not as obvious as you make it out to be. You don't have to reply if I'm bugging you.
I've done nothing but research this ####### for 8 months so please don't act like I'm simply being lazy. I appreciate your help but you don't have to be a jerk about it.
Also don't act like the instructions are the law for this process. I can't tell you how many times I've read something in the instructions or on the embassy websites that have said one thing, but required something completely different. If I went solely on this information and not asked redundant questions on VJ to clarify, we'd have had several RFEs by now.

The two major vaccinations you need is the Td/Tdap, and the MMR (for your age group).
    See requirements here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/39181/pdfs/vaccinechart.pdf
I believe that vaccinations aren't strictly required at the time of the K-1 visa, but you need them for the AOS.
If you do not get them now, you will HAVE to get them in the U.S.
Many people in the UK get them done by their GP to save them money.
You can also get them done /at / the medical, but they are quite expensive.

Hmmm......OP let's think critically for a second. If something is a FIANCE visa and the main requirement for the visa is to marry in the US within 90 days after your arrival on the visa do you think you would be able to marry before you even received said visa?

I don't understand how this question can be asked so frequently. The rules of the K1 visa (which should be read and understood before applying) FIRMLY state that the petitioner and beneficiary must get married within 90 days of the beneficiary entering the United States. If you get married BEFORE you get your K1 visa, you no longer have a fiance. You will have a spouse.

They can deal with things however they'd like, they have absolutely every right to. Like I said in my post, if it makes them feel better and makes them feel that they are doing everything they can, then all the power to them. If it makes a difference, fantastic! I don't think it will, and I would hate people to get their hopes up. Never once did I tell people to stop trying. I'm entitled to my opinion as much as anyone else is, and I don't feel I'm being rude about voicing it.
I wish the best for everyone in this process, no matter how long they wait. I simply believe this is a broken system and no amount of complaining will fix it, unfortunately.

This is a forum, you cannot tell people where and when to post. Sorry if you don't like what's being said, but people have the right to say it. Having an NOA2 does not make a person's opinion null and void.
    Good luck to you.

You are spamming the threads and wasting bandwidth everytime you post to these threads.
I have to endure a full web page of your pics with every post you make. That is not only a waste of the forums bandwidth but a waste of mine and everyone elses as well.
I don't want to have to see your pictures on every other post but I have no choice If I want to follow the thread. Put in a link if you want people to look, but don't force eveyone to have to view them.

On the bright side, at least you've found out that the relationship was not strong enough to last BEFORE one person has made a life changing move.
