He tried marijuana once as a teen and now the urine test is positive? Uhm, I'm no doctor, but it seems like he has a lot of liquid retention...

newlyweds2010 got a reaction from FLAussie in Fiance visa - wedding
Everybody back home told me that it takes about 1 year to plan a proper wedding, so I was thinking "how are we going to do it in less than 3 months?".
Therefore our original idea was to have a small wedding and then eventually a bigger party. But her family (she's the USC) suggested that we have a big wedding reception + party right away, or we will never have time to organize a bigger event later.
So they took care of everything, booked the place, got the dresses for the girls and the tuxedos for the men, ordered the wedding cake, got the invitation cards, mailed them out both national and international.
they started working on it after I arrived, and it's all set for August 7. less than 90 days to do the whole thing. there will be around 100 people. and it's going to be awesome

It depends on the grounds on which the denial was based. If it was only for lack of strong ties, then you should be fine. If it was for something else, then you might have issues.

newlyweds2010 got a reaction from AmyWrites in Is the oath ceremony required?
There are certain things in life that you cannot control - such as being born in a certain place. Some others are the result of your free actions. Applying for a citizenship other than the one you received at birth is one of them. When you apply the government fully discloses what the "whole package" is, including: attending the oath ceremony, listening to "God bless the USA", having to file tax returns every year for the rest of your life, facing the possibility of being called to serve on a jury, and - remotely - bearing arms or performing noncombatant service on behalf of the United States. At the citizenship interview they ask you once more whether you support the constitution and you are willing to give the full oath. If you say Yes, they make you sign the form. At no point does anybody force you to do any of this. You still have the choice of not doing it, and in fact a large majority of the people in the world have not done so, and still live happily without a blue passport.

John, if you are set on going home, file and get a divorce before doing so, just to make sure you can keep visitation rights and continue to be a part in your kids' lives.
Consider contacting your consulate in the US and asking for repatriation assistance. Many countries do so and it might be a better alternative than to roughing it up in NYC.
If you have considered staying in the US and pursuing residence, consider speaking to an immigration lawyer, who can give you advice as to whether you qualify to apply under VAWA.
On a positive note, that you have decided to to something to stop the abuse is already an indicative that this year promises to be somewhat better than last.
    Good luck whatever your decision.

Go ahead and join the OP in his class action lawsuit.
What lying has the government done? Average time is just that. It is not a promise or legal requirement to process every case within that time. It's a government goal, not a law.
What does illegal immigration have to do with this? Nothing. Whether an illegal is here or not has nothing to do with how fast your spousal petition gets handled.
Furthermore, no one is "complaining about the one person trying to fix the problem." He is being warned that his efforts are not meaningful when he filed his I-130 about 3 weeks ago and he is already peeved that his wife is not here.
