jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Any Documents Needed for Medical Exam?
If I recall correctly we needed THREE passport type photos for the medical exam. Get lots, you will need them.
She should also make SURE she has or has started any needed vaccines and be sure to request form DS3025 signed and checked as "vaccines complete" (if they ARE complete or started) KEEP this document, do not turn it in at the interview. You will need it for the AOS and it will save you a lot of time and money later. She can get her vaccination records from the medical clinic she has been using.

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Foe of healthcare law went bankrupt — with medical bills
So she does no tpay for insurance OR medical bills. What do you expect. But I thought that you want to cover everyone's medical bills, yet 47% of Americans pay no income tax so how are they NOT deadbeats and freeloaders also?
The opiton to get medical treatment and then file bankruptcy exists for everyone already. So much for saying the uninsured have no medical care.

You're only done with the USCIS portion of it. Congrats on that. Have fun!

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Ex Issues
I spent a total of $27 on Alla the first two days after we met.
It has increased exponentially since though. If she is a scammer she is a very clever one and deserves every penny.

I paid for all the visa stuff, and I sent her money for travel expenses like trips to her former university to get her transcripts, trips to Minsk to get documents translated, etc.. and I always sent her some money on here birthday and Christmas via Western Union. After losing a house, property, etc... through divorce, this wasn't nearly as expensive as my divorce. I didn't mind sending her a few hundred now and then just for the fck of it, and when I did send her that money she complained big time. It was a pride thing for her. I would send her the money without telling her first, and then I would send her the Western Union # via Google Talk so she would see it when she logged in. That money purchased a washing machine which she and her sister needed badly, even though she would never ask me for it, and it got her some killer looking clothes sent to her from a friend in Germany. It gave me some eye candy when I flew over there.

jimnlena reacted to baron555 in Immigration Attorney
The problem is that you haven't done enough homework on your own, which you have to do anyway. It's called Read the VJ Guides, link at the top of the page.
Those will step you through the process and the forms and documentation involved.
The issue you have, unbeknownst to you, is that understanding the forms and the documentation involved is really the least amount of time consuming tasks.
Even with the super immigration attorney, YOU will have to gather together all the documentation on your own...they will not and can not do it for you. THAT is the most time-consuming part of the process. If you follow the Example Forms and the Guides, you will have no issues with those.
YOU will still have to find the time to gather together all the documentation and then there is documentation your fiance needs to send to you. The attorney is not going to talk with her, YOU have and should, as the man should and the FSU woman wants, do on his own.
Can the attorney, buck up and do some homework and then plan to set aside whatever time is going to be required to gather together the documents needed....the Guides give you that list for free, whereas the attorney will just suck up your money for the same.

jimnlena reacted to SMR in here's an idea
Laptop power supplies can take a broad AC input. The cords, on the other hand, are typically intended for one voltage or the other. That's why almost all laptop power supply have a removable AC cord. You can find a cord in Russia that will fit into the brick (and yes, that is a technical term, no need for facepalming. I design bricks for a living).
If the power grid has a lot of spikes you may have a problem. Further, the higher voltage on the capacitors can stress them more. On the other hand, a higher voltage means a lower current on your inductors. Basically, they are designed to work both ways and should. There is a lot of cheap Chinese ####### out there, though, so you have to be careful.

Same here. I just pretend it doesn't happen. "Yeah, that's my crazy wife. Leave her alone, she'll be alright in a little bit."
Over the years I've learned when she gets in those moods to just do my own thing - alone! "I'll be out in the garage."

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Valentines Day
I actually felt bad for the guy, he was just kind of staring at her waiting for her to talk to him or something. When we left I had to ask Alla, "was it my imagination or was that girl texting someone the entire meal?" She said "Yes, she was, she never put her phone away for a second" Alla said she was a "typical stupid young girl"
Really. I would have excused myself and left. The restarant is on a bus route, she could find her way home.

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Russian out Ukrainian in
My experience, limited as it is, is with Russian women living in Ukraine and various Ukrainian women. Some from west Ukraine, some from villages and yes, there are many differences. There are perhaps more differences between rural and city women and also between younger and older women. Personally, and again with limited experience, I draw the "age line" at whether or not they finished their education in the Soviet Union. Seems like the women that are old enough to have truly lived and formed opinions of life in the Soviet system are far different than younger women.

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Ukraine K-1 initial denial - next steps to fix
In general FSU women are promiscuious. They were formerly much more discrete about it. For an example, Russia and Ukraine have by far the highest ratio of abortions to live births in civiized world. Abortions outnumber live births by 2 to 1. Slim was spot on in his post in another thread...FSU chicks do it like rabbits.
As Scott says, having sex before marriage with someone is not promiscuous, particularly if that is where it is going. SMR, if your wife was over 20 and a virgin, she was a very rare breed, not at all the general norm. Alla had two sons, one of them ready to start college when I met her. I never asked if she was a virgin. Her virginity ended well before the Soviet Union did.
Besides, I am with Scott on this one...no way I am buying shoes without trying them on.
