Awarded "most succinct and relevant response".
I noticed a couple of red flags, Bob23. My best friend from work was Chinese and I had a lot of interaction with Chinese students as graduate director at a University here. Occasionally we would see one with the same attitude:
    Someone has a bigotry issue.
It's pretty hard to adapt to a place where you hate the people. Remember that you are also an American so when you say she looks down on "all Americans" you might want to consider that.
I agree with PumpkinPie too - you sure sound like a considerate guy, yet nothing seems good enough for her. That's an attitude problem, not a culture problem.
Personally, I would be thinking about whether this is a person I would want to marry as opposed to whether I can move heaven and earth to please them. You can't work hard enough to please someone that has that kind of attitude.
You can, however, lay it on the line and tell them that adapting to life here is a requirement and if they don't want to do it then it is time for an amicable parting.

wow you didnt import the car... you will likely have to pay duty fees on it now since its your car and not hers. If she kept the car in her name and came with it on the K-1 it would of been duty free... You have a pretty big mess.
edit to add - You also have to get a compliance letter from the cars model company. That could cause more issues if the car is not compliant!

Less than 5 months. Now this is just for the USCIS approval. There is no guarantee about how quick the Embassy will approve a visa, if they even decide to do that. Expedite just means to get to the interview stage quicker.
Just because your fiance lives in a bad place doesn't necessarily qualify them for a humanitarium approval.

You also cant get your money back that you spent already for the K-1 so not only do you lose that money but you have to pay AGAIN for the CR-1 and you have to start waiting from the start all over again and possibly longer for the CR-1.

Have you tried getting a private investigator to look for him? Sometimes they can be expencive but they might be able to find him if you know your dads full name and a general location of where he lives.
You could also try using GOOGLE search if you havent tried that, searching his name on there and see if anything comes up. Another good one is facebook, I found some long lost cousins on facebook who live in England.

I'm sorry it has not arrived. Did you fill out the form correctly.? I made one mistake in that area because inorder to receive it .. you have to select all 3 boxes.
IF i were you I would take them to the nearest Social Security Office and Apply for one if you dont get it when January 1st rolls around Since they are not even in the system as pending or having applied.... the agents at the SS office will be able to tell you if a request for a SSN was submitted to BALTIMORE, MD who generates the Numbers.

He can't work until he gets the EAD card. The stamp in the passport doesn't allow a K1 to work. Sorry. Working is illegal unless he has the EAD or GC.
There are many many posts about this. Including a full explanation about how JFK is not supposed to give out the stamp anymore because it confuses people.
The I-9 form here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=31b3ab0a43b5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD confirms your eligibility criteria. You will notice the stamp is not there.

You need to remove the conditions on it and get a 10 year card. You dont "renew" a 2 year conditional.
Check out the removal of conditions step by step guide in the guide section.

Inky got a reaction from Nich-Nick in How do I go about changing my last name?
You dont legally change your name. When you get married your name is changed. You use your marriage certificate to get your documents in your married name.
Apply for your AOS in your married name.

You realize they are going to take it apart and throw all the binder and dividers and everything away, and put the petition papers in their own packet?
You dont need all that and wasted money on it. All you need is a cover page and a large paper clip.

Visas are used to enter countries, so since you're already here, you'll be adjusting status, not applying for a visa. Start by clicking on the word Guides at the top of any page here, then ask your remaining questions in the Adjustment of Status forum. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-tourist-visas/
You can accept a job from a new employer when you have EAD or a Green card.

Inky reacted to Kathryn41 in DV 2011 Interview at Montreal in October - placed in administrative processing 221g - how long wait?
I did want to address this issue as it is one you should get used to. Many Canadians get a rude awakening when they realize how different things are in the US. Even though we are very close neighbours we are two distinctly different countries.
You are applying to live in the US. The US is a foreign country. It is not Canada. It does have its own rules and laws which are different than Canada's. You are speaking to an American evaluating you based upon the legal criteria of America. The Consulate employee does not work with Canadian laws. He works with US legislation. Why would he evaluate you based upon Canadian laws since they do not apply in the US? Of course he is going to be referring to everything according to US law. There is an intersection between what is allowable in Canada and how it translates into the US, but ultimately, it will be what is acceptable in the US that will determine the ultimate decision.
If you were applying to enter the US and had 5 wives because it is allowed in your country of Nationality, would you expect the US to follow the laws of your country and allow you to have 5 wives in the US even though it is against US law? Of course not. The US official needs to compare your situation to make sure it is allowed under US law and that the unique circumstances you face (and because there are very few DV lottery applicants from Canada since Canadians are not eligible) you can appreciate he is taking the time to find out the correct information. You have taken the steps necessary to qualify as a married couple in the US as well as in Canada so once the careful examination of all of the facts is finished you should be alright. Just don't be so surprised that a US government official is following US laws for a US immigration benefit.

Yes, they are needed if you are sending copies of your tax returns. If you are sending tax transcripts that you order from IRS, then they are not needed (tax transcript includes that information). Only last year is required, 3 years can be shown if you think it helps you. Good luck.

    1. The interview is a 50/50 chance you may have one you may not. It is manditory that you show up to it if you have one.
    2. If you have not been collecting evidence the last two years you may be in trouble. They are looking to see evidence from the past 2 years of your marriage.
    3. They send you an extension letter of your green card that is valid for 1 year.

While I can't help you with your situation.. I just gotta comment: I wouldn't say the baby is 'accidental'. My mother always called me a 'surprise'. She defined the two for me, saying that a surprise is something you'd do again if given the choice, and and accident is something you wouldn't. (Congrats!)

You may also need to submit an I-566. Generally, "A" visa holders are required to get permission from the Department of State before they can adjust status in order to avoid diplomatic problems with the country that sent the "A" visa holder to the US. An I-566 can only be submitted while the "A" visa holder is still in lawful status. This may be a show stopper for you.
I suggest a consultation with an immigration lawyer.
