I do not agree with the comments about Germany and WW2.
OK it is a passing reference and not really pertinent to the subject. It was a different time and he seems to be looking back with rose tinted glasses. I could happily argue the opposite.
I do agree with a lot of the other stuff, his description of the IDF reminds me of the US Armed Forces, now the US has the advantage of the Atlantic and Pacific. The IDF has a distinct lack of defensible space.
I always assumed that Israel was on borrowed times, the Jewish population is I think just over 3 times that of Gaza, look at the surrounding States and probably outnumbered 30 to 1 and with Countries that have no issues taking casualties.
Short version Israel has to win every time, or to put it another way if the surrounding States disarmed nothing much would happen, if Israel did they would be nobody left by the end of the month.
Of course they have Nukes so I presume every surrounding Nation would be impacted. Reminds of a board game called Nuclear War, if you were eliminated you had the opportunity of combing all your cards and attacking the remaining players, quite common for nobody to win.
