She signed documents asserting OP would live with her. There are legal consequences to denying a spouses access to their homes.

OP and wife convinced either other, USCIS, and State the relationship was bonafide. OP has a right to figure out what is going on with the relationship

That observation seems to be employing a stereotype.

Lawfully moving  to the most  advanced country in the planet is the opposite of a world of hurt.
I’ve been detained several times by CBP, INS, UK border force, Australian border force.  If one cannot cope with that possibility, one should not travel internationally.

Based on the post, OP has done nothing wrong and will not be doing anything wrong by coming to America.

OP’s wife had a choice. And still has choices. OP is supposed to wait in limbo until it is “convenient”? Is OP an object or thing?

Hmmm, are you more concerned about the end of the relationship or gaining entry into the US?

Do you know why it's "too soon" in her opinion for you to come to the US?

If you did make entry into the US and she wanted nothing to do with you, what is your plan?

According to profile: OP is from Nigeria.
If things go south as soon as he arrives and he files for ROC with divorce waiver after never having lived with his spouse I don't think we'll have a happy ending.
Depending on when the visa expires I would have a chat with the wife and try for counseling. If she is adamant about splitting don't go to the US.

Just make sure there's no other bird warming that nest. I wouldn't even encourage you to stay at her address, should a fight ensure and being fresh of the boat, you don't know where to seek help.

Agreed -- accelerate your move.  Meanwhile, try to work out your issues, and continue working on them after you arrive.

I'd say surprise her by traveling tomorrow and tell her, "Surprise, your husband is home, now you are hooked up with i864." May be the eroding love may bounce back. You want to be with your wife, travel to the US asap. Then figure out in person.

My Phillipine friends  told me to look up average wages. Were shocked $700 wasn't enough since the average wage is around $240.  Only if they were expats would they need from #1000,00 go $1,500 to live how theh were used to in for example the US.  Remember expats and tourists are in general or usually pay more for everything.  Hive her more, she will ask for more sooner than you think.
    🤔🤑
I would stop paying her for a month. I'm sure she will appreciate the $700 after that.  Just saying.

No offense taken. Thank you for taking the time to posting your views. It will certainly help others in similar situations. You're right about the cultural things being so ingrained in the children nature to take care of the parents no matter how difficult it is. I can rant on about this all day. LOL

My wife and I handle money issues a little differently.  We don't look at it as "her" money and "my" money.  It is "our" money and we make the decisions on this together.  To be honest, I will pretty much agree to everything she says because 1, she's good with money and, 2, I'm an idiot.  But she always asks for my input, especially on things like this.

Now, to be honest, we send an amount every month that most people would roll their eyes at, but it is the amount that we agree on.  And the decision is ours and ours alone.  Nobody gets to tell us the amount to send.

The issue shouldn't be the dollar amount, the issue should be whether it is what you want to send or not.  If it isn't what she wants to send then the issue should be corrected.  I would suggest your wife telling MIL that you, the husband, won't let her send that much.  If MIL has a problem with that, then she can get on the video chat and discuss it with you.  Most likely MIL won't do that and that might take some of the pressure off your wife.

i'm sorry if it sounded like i was rooting against your relationship, you guys sound like a nice couple that can talk through things.
I feel for you guys, these cultural things are so ingrained in us it must be very hard for your wife to change her way of thinking, especially when her mom treats her like this.

We won't split up but I will die first since I am older. And when that happens and if she has not learn by then, she won't be financially secure supporting herself in the USA and may move back to the Philippines. Her mother will live to an hundred and the daughters in their seventies will still be sending money back there.

He is not “waiting for his i130 to process”. He is able to adjust status as soon as he sets foot in the US as his PD is current for adjustment (even if not for a visa interview outside the US yet). Totally different context.
  15. Thanks
Soloenta reacted to SusieQQQ in Entry Denied into the US
Pretty obvious to me why entry was denied. Final action date for F3 has been stuck at Nov 2008 for months and even when it moves to December (OP’s PD) there is a massive backlog for interviews. By contrast, table B dates for filing (F3 current to AUg09)is able to be used for adjustment of status which means that OP would be eligible to file for adjustment of status as soon as he entered the US. Looks like they saw huge risk of OP cutting the line to adjust vs waiting many many months still for a visa interview. Hardly seems fair when you look at all the other people on VJ who get to the buck the system and doesn’t sound like that is what OP had planned anyway, but he is paying for others who abuse tourist entry to cut the line.

I feel like if it was something to due with adjusting status he will at least get a chance to be interviewed by the CBP officer and get asked about ties etc. He was not even allowed to processed to that

Interesting.  So it’s either combination something to with your country of origin, your DS-160 and I-130, or misunderstanding about your ability to adjust status on an F3 category.  A B-1/B-2 visa appointment would get closure.

That probably explains it then.  Though I do know Canadians born in Iran who have visited the USA multiple times successfully.

    Apply for a B-1/B-2 visa.

btw I believe your F-3 category will be granted on the basis of your country of birth or original citizenship and not Canada.  It doesn’t make any difference today given the current visa bulletin but I could imagine it making a difference in the future.

Sorry you have to go though this. Try to reach out to the consulate then and see what they think. Could be just a mistake, or could be something they saw in your visit visa application, DS260, or CBP interviews record that did not match.

How often do you travel? Were you a citizen of a different country before becoming Canadian? If so, did you apply for visit visa before? Without knowing much about your immigration history it is pretty hard to point out to anything really

What does that mean they didn't interview you?  Can you please explain what happened?

What was your port of entry?
Were you taken into secondary inspection?
Were you asked to show ties to Canada?
What other questions were you asked?
Was anything written in your passport?
    Were you given any paperwork?
Were you asked to sign anything?

Please give us more information so we can help you.

Mine was due to lack of ties to Canada.  I am sorry that happened to you.  Care to share any details?

    Good luck
