    STEP is short for Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
    here is the website

    You register your travels abroad and then the Embassy in the country you are in sends out emails on any news in the country.
    I always use it when traveling abroad.

    I am a from the US and my wife is a Vietnamese citizen. We live in Vietnam. I have a 5 year visa exempt also by using the same process T&T&T described in his first post. The 5 year visa exempt lets you travel to and from Vietnam as much as you want in that 5 year period without having to get a visa. However, you are limited to a 3 month stay. After 3 months you have to exit. However, with everything else visa related nothing follows the rules exactly and by being married they over look leaving the country every 3 months. You DO have to get a new stamp though just as T&T&T pointed out every 3 months at a cost of $10. That can be done without leaving and takes about a week to process.

    As I answered. I am a woman. I came to the US by fiance visa. That is why I want to write about it. I work on the fiance visa, then do green card with my husband, then 10 years green card by myself, finally is the naturalization. I also worked very hard to assist my husband, took care of children, and went back to school for a degree. I worked in the immigration cases as well. I feel painful in many cases that made my heart broken and angry.
    Yes, "We don't ask that of an American women marring an American man," but the USCIS will ask why do Alien women, especially from Vietnam and some other Asian countries, marry their American men? Because we apply for visa entering their country, the USA.
