What was your fiancée response to this question? Why didn't you guys have a wedding in Vietnam?

That's a tricky question because if they did, they would not have been eligible to file the K-1 visa. :)

@Pete82: Congrats!

Question for you, if I may. I read your review of the interview and you mentioned that they asked your fiancee to turn in Packet 3 and DS-160 when she showed up for the interview. I am a little confused because on your timeline, you stated that you had already sent back Packet 3, so why did they need her to turn it in again?

I don't even want to remember teaching my babe to drive.

Congrats!!! Time to plan her new life. Start studying a driver's manual and get her drivers liscense as soon as she can. Her time at home when you are at work will make her bored out of her mind.

What was your fiancée response to this question? Why didn't you guys have a wedding in Vietnam?

1) Can I see your photos?

She shows him our pictures together when we went traveling around vietnam from Dec 2013 to Jan 2014. He quickly scan through the pictures

2) Where does your finance work?

She inform him that I work for Sony

3) What does he do for a living?

She inform him that I was a Software Engineer for VAIO

4) When did you finance go the United States?

She inform him that I was born in the United States. He was surprise ( not sure why) so he commented that my english must be good.

5) What language do you speak with your fiancé?

She stated that we talk in Vietnamese but we use english when we message each other

6) Have you or your fiancé been married before?

She stated "No" he was never married before

7) Do you or your finance have kids?

She stated "No" he doesn't have kids

8) Who introduce you guys to each other?

She stated that we meet online on a dating website.

Note : I think he was trying to dig and see if we were legit and we were introduce by arrange marriage from a broker

9) When did you meet your fiancé?

May 22nd 2013

10) How many times did you fiancé visit you?

Twice. July 2013 for 10 days, Dec 2013 for 40 days

11) What was the last time your fiancé visit you?

Dec 2013 to Jan 2014

12) Why didn't you guys have a wedding in Vietnam?

Trick question here. She stated that our family met and that we will get married via paperwork once she arrives in the US and then we will save money to have a big wedding in 1 to 2 years.

Note: I told my fiancee to be in the look out for a pink slip or blue slip during the interview. She was look and i guess they change it. Everything was hidden away from her so she couldn't see any paper work

Also we didn't have any engagement party but we have a very strong case. I had all the plane tickets, many skype logs, We had hotel receipts with both our names on it, we had plane tickets with both of us when we travel, We had the engagement ring receipt and GIA report. We didn't have any kids nor were we previous marry. I'm 31 and shes 23 in terms of age.

I make almost 6 figures and i provided tax paper, w2, letter from bank, letter from work, so ad. of support was easy.

Also I didn't have a timeline in there.

Let me know if those information helps you out or if you have any other questions for me.

Ah.. so we submitted the DS-160 online but part of the process is to also email them back some forms (DS-160, DS-2001, 2 visa photo, and a copy of her passport). We submitted the DS-160 online however at the end of the online form, you need to print it out so you can snail mail it to them.

However when I say we had to bring package #3, it was the i-129F form that they sent to my fiancee where they stamp it "Approve" and also there was a cover letter that indicated the HCM #.

Let me know if that make sense. If it doesn't then i can take a screen shot of the form for you.

I'm Condo shopping right now and i'm trying to bid for this one place which is really close to a community college. Basically she could walk there which would take 5 minutes. I am thinking to get her a scooter since she already knows how to drive that until she gets her Associate degree. Once she gets her AA degree then I'll get her a mercedes as a present. =)

All,

I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum. I am a community manager for the Sony Community (community.sony.com) so I know the power and wealth of information on this type of forums.

The process is very time consuming especially when I had to do 95% of all the paper work while working and this forum is very useful. I felt really lucky for the following reasons:

1) Fast NOA2 (not sure why it was so fast for Oct 2013 - Nov 2013 submitter of NOA)

2) Fast Interview date (lucky timing from NOA2 to interview because of the new system implemented)

3) visajourney - vietnam form (so many great discussion here that really help prep me and my fiancee.)

Even though I didn't post many questions here on my journey, I read a lot of comments and discussion from other members and has been extremely valuable. Thank you for every thing guys!

let me know if there is anything i can do to help other members here (Push it forward)

@ OP, thanks for your response to my inquiry. I want to say a big congratulation to you and your fiancée. My other question is why did you tell your fiancée to look out for the pink or blue slip what does that mean? Which of the color is for approval? Like some said in another post that they already decided on the case even before the interview. I will be waiting to hear from you.

I read from other members discussion that if your fiancee sees a pink they she is already approve and just needs to go through the process of the interview. A blue slip indicates more information is required. This is why I told my fiancee to be in the look out and to make sure she is calm.

If you see pink slip : You are already approved so relax and enjoy the interview

if you see blue slip: don't stress. They just need more information. This doesn't mean you fail. Just that we need to submit more paper work. No biggie.

Let me know if that answers your question.
