I130 for spouse
appleblossom replied to Christinab99's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Ignore the 'taking longer than expected', that timeline is notoriously inaccurate. The I-130 processing time is approx 12-14 months, so you're still well under normal processing times. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ What has increased since the pandemic is the wait time for an interview at some consulates - there's a big backlog now at some (others have no wait at all, it's very location dependent). Good luck. -
Cross After DQ & Wait for Interview? [split topic]
appleblossom replied to Canadian24's topic in Work Visas
I travelled several times as a tourist whilst waiting for my EB-1 immigrant visa, no issues at all. As long as you don't try to stay and adjust status, there shouldn't be an issue but do take proof of ties to Canada just in case. Good luck. -
EB2-NIW Waiting for Interview Letter in London 2023

Please remove your case number from the forum! No need to contact NVC, they’l be on it. What does it say on the case status website page? It probably says ‘at NVC’, same as in the screenshot above, but if it says ‘ready’ or ‘in transit’ then you know your IL is imminent. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? If your transfer was only approved at the end of June then I’d guess maybe August you’ll get an IL, for an Oct date. Just bear in mind things do slow down in the summer, but hopefully it won’t be too long. Good luck. -
Still waiting

Yes, if you look at worst case scenario it may be. But I’m a glass half full person and wouldn’t worry about medical issues and a delay unless it actually happened. No point in worrying about what might be! So Germany is (for a normal application with no issues) one of the fast consulates around. It can be 4-5 years for people from places like Islamabad or Lagos. -
I’d be surprised if the Florida field office had anything to do with the application, so I wouldn’t bother contacting them. Presumably you sent it to the Elgin lockbox if you live in Florida, so I’d contact lockbox support, or contact USCIS directly. https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2022-06/Tip Sheet - When to Contact a USCIS Lockbox_0.pdf Good luck.

Are you sure you don’t mean for the I-130? That’s not country specific, it’s the same for everybody. The OP is referring to the wait for an interview once DQ’ed, and Germany would be one of the fastest places for that, shouldn’t be anywhere near a year. Other countries are 2yrs+ just for that. -
Never heard of less than a year, but it also shouldn’t take another year. Ignore your online guesstimate, it’s notoriously accurate. Seems to be around 13-14 months at the moment so hopefully approval any day now. Don’t forget to check the documents tab, approval is usually there quite a while before you get notified. Good luck.

They are treated the same once they get there, but that can take a while for that to happen so it probably isn’t there yet. What does your status say? -

Then personally I’d do it. We got our O visas in less than 3 weeks last year. It would be worth doing as back up if you can. -

They may not even know - if it’s been sent to DoS for background checks they won’t be aware of what’s going on behind the scene. It could be your military background, or your criminal record, or a combination of both. The criminal record wasn’t drugs related was it? -
They’ve already said the cut off will be 50K for Europe. So it will depend on how quickly you can be interviewed and if you can get granted a visa before the deadline - so which consulate? Some have longer waits than others. Good luck.

No, not after approving the I-130 petition, just from today. The I-130 petition could be approved tomorrow, or in several years, no way of knowing that. I'm surprised it hasn't been approved already if it was filed in 2013, are you sure it hasn't? Average processing time given is 4.5 years. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ But it's hugely helpful it it really has taken 10+ years to approve it if you are trying to qualify under CPSA. If you can give more details of ages/dates, then people can tell you if they think there's any chance under CPSA or not. Presumably you're a child of the sister?
