Did you get a status sating "card was produced"?
If so, less than 2 weeks. Keep reloading the case status, and eventually (days) you will get a USPS tracking code.
Now is the time for you to:
- download the lawfully app and add your I-90 case to it. Make sure notifications are on and check each day in the morning as I find lots of stuff happens over night.
- setup USPS Informed Delivery
It does seem that the longer a gc is expired the higher priority USCIS put on the case, if it is new
Thank u for that info.
i just checked status and it says card was produced

how long to wait to received the actual green card from date that says it is produced?

Im confused
Did they take the original and payment at secondary ? Or do you now have to file it. You have to be given a biometrics appointment not just turn up at the ASC
or did the signed I193 just a “ formality “ ?
I renewed my gc before flying here. I already have i 797 with biometric appointment.
They did not take any payment for the i 193. They filled it up and I signed it and gave me a copy. And told me to show up on my biometric appt in my i 797
-
Would biometric appointment ask me why I did not renew my green card and let it expire?

I can imagine how traumatic the interrogation must have been. I was in secondary for only around 15 minutes with a very polite CBP officer, but I was still terrified the whole time even if I managed not to show it.
Thank u. I wouldn’t make it without VJ members advice. Thank you VJ

Frame it and post it in your bed room as a daily reminder of what not to do.
You should develop future habits that avoid the need to file I-193 in the future. So stop leaving the USA for a long time and stop letting your I-551 expire while abroad.
I think you should stay in the USA for 5 straight years and file for naturalization
Yes. I learned my lesson. I want to be USC someday

Did they ask for or take your phone at anytime?
Was there one Officer asking you questions or more than one?
Did you think anyone in the room was in a worse situation than you?
They didn’t take my phone
there were 3 CBP
There were tourists in the room and I saw some of them were crying. I knew there were tourists because they don’t speak English

5 minutes ago, Family said:Please take a moment and post all the questions ( verbatim or close to) that you were asked at secondary and how long the interaction took…
1. How long I was gone
2. the reason why I’m gone that long
3. Why I didn’t renew my GC right away
4. they asked all the purpose of travel for each trips I had in the PHIL
5. They asked why I want to return to the usa
6. do I have family here, who are they
7. what I did in the PHIL for all those years I was gone
8. what are my ties to the usa
They kept asking some of the questions over and over again
I was in secondary for 6 hours. The room was crowded. They looked at all the documents and records I brought. They inspected my luggages and hand carry. They told me that they will deport me right away and that I should start looking for flight back since my GC is no longer valid even with the i 797. Then I was told I will face the immigration judge. They were really scary. I have never been arrested in my life and during that time I felt like I committed a crime. After all the interrogation I waited for another 45 mins and they made me sign the i 193.

What do I do with the i 193? Am I supposed to bring in the biometrics?

Perfect! There will be no interrogations/ questions at biometrics
. You are free and clear. Hopefully you keep posting on VJ and help others find the courage you tappped into.
Oh thank god. I don’t think I can undergo another interrogation.

You did it!!! Congratulations .
When you say you were “ given” I-193 w fee waiver…are you saying they gave you a blank form to fill out and send out?
I lean to they issued and approved an I-193 on the spot and all you need to do is the biometrics for the I-90 renewal .or they gave you a separate paper .please clarify.
Biometrics will be at ASC !
They will not touch your green card !What is ASC? the i 193 is already filled up with my information. They typed it. I just signed it.

What can I say? That isn’t what is being reported for the facial recognition kiosks. If you don’t want to try that’s fine. A famous immigrant to America once said you miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.
There were kiosk at the airport but it says global entry. I went to see CBP.

I went to secondary…
i was given i -193 with fees waived? I was soooooo nervous i almost peed my pants and I could not understand there explanation. they did not take my GC. They told me to come to my biometric. Does this mean I’m ok? My passports was stamp as admitted ‘LPR’ with 193. I’m just waiting to be picked up by my relative.
will I undergo interrogation again at the biometrics?

My silent cheering you on when you posted the cranky -only-one-on-duty CBP officer response was to tell you to wait for his shift to change and try again.
But they have also hung up on passenger callers and you needed the support of the airline staff..so yes that was a small miracle in itself.
Keep every bit of info you learned safely stored away and use when/if necessary ( LPR dates on card or told to 3rd party)
Your armor is the resource/memo from @Mike E …though I love the beeline to kiosk suggesting, they may have alerted for a secondary inspection.
Stay simple and focused on
You never intended to abandoned
Original departure was for short duration
Difficult circumstances
You will be fine..and remember they can either tell /threaten you w : will detain you or actually do it for a few hours /days.
Keep your cool . You made it home!yes i think they flagged me for secondary inspection already
thank u so much everyone for helping me.. i will keep u posted
