  1. Nice, I'll give it a try! I also made a ChatGPT bot based on official study material. The bonus of this one is I can actually voice chat with it. It reads a random question from the list, and I reply by saying the answer, so it makes it similar to exam conditions. It's a verbal exam, right?
  2. I'll keep the forum posted with my experience of course.
  3. Happy Friday! My interview got scheduled, which I did not expect to happen so fast! Time to study for real!
  4. Try different browser or computer?
  5. LPRs are free to have as many jobs as they want. Not a problem to disclose on N-400 either.
  6. I'm sorry if my message seemed off. The reason I posted it is because some VJ folks think their interview is scheduled when it isn't, creating high expectation. I only wanted to clarify my understanding of MyProgress. I'm not a native English speaker, and misunderstood the use of word "reaching" in this context. Thank you for sharing the news, they're good news indeed. And the fact you don't have to do biometrics is a very positive thing. Saves time and hassle. Please keep us updated on progress and don't feel discouraged !
  7. I didn't have this situation, as my taxes were always filed jointly when I got married. However, I don't see a problem submitting 2022 it shows your name, you're being married. Doesn't wife's name show at all anywhere on tax return transcript?
  8. Congratulations! Which field office?
  9. You may be misreading the tab information. When your interview is scheduled, Step #3 will be checked the same way as step #2 and step #1.
  10. Did you not file online? Typically you can see documents online.
  11. That's what instructions for I-751 say. That's what I provided and got approved. Others got approved evidence for smaller timespan - from GC approval to I-751 filing date.
  12. You could have requested combo interview when filing N-400 by uploading your I-751 receipt notice in additional / unsolicited evidence section in your application and writing a short cover letter asking to have a combo interview due to pending I-751. I'd imagine your interview is already scheduled and it would be difficult to change anything. Be prepared to do combo interview (I-751 and N-400). But also your I-751 may get approved before interview or after interview with N-400 waiting for the outcome of I-751. It's hard to predict what exactly would happen. Too many moving parts. Good luck!
  13. Combo interview. Yes, spouse needs to come with you, especially because you have I-751 pending. Otherwise IO may not approve the case. You don't have to take kids. If somebody can watch them while you're away, it should be OK.
  14. Depending on the officer and their interpretation of marital union, even a week apart could lead to denial when filing under 3 year rule. Looks like your officer was pretty relaxed about it but maybe had to get additional approval from his boss hence this excuse about slow computer. Let us know how it goes and congrats with the interview!
  15. In my opinion, this is a recipe for disaster in the long run. All passports and ID docs should ideally have current legal name. I can understand variations in spelling due to alphabet differences. Such as André vs Andre. However, I cannot imagine country A's passport saying John Smith and coutry B's passport saying Fred Johnes. In fact, quite a few countries, for example UK have policies for their dual citizens mandating names should match in all passports. This is really big inconvenience from security standpoint. Dual citizens with different names in different passports should not be surprised if they're asked by authorities to explain such discrepancies when travelling internationally, for example. A person with different identities will always be a subject to additional checks by both governments.
  16. Agreed, policits can change over the time, especially if OP has several decades of life ahead. Without more context from OP, the decision to renounce looks rushed, especially if only became a citizen few years ago. Of course, it's solely OP's decision, I was only hoping to inform OP about various aspects of renunciation. @nastra30 and @jostermacedo shared great resources to study. @DJClaire if you end up renouncing, please post your experience here. It may help somebody else in your shoes. VJ community has limited knowledge when it comes to this process.
  17. Marital union is the requirement for naturalization under 3 year rule. If you had things like spouse or you living in different state because of work, travelling for few months outside of the US without spouse, living temporarily at different addresses due to other things - this all can lead to denial of N-400 under 3 year rule. The requirement is you and your spouse living in marital union until oath without breaks.
  18. I believe 7.5 months is the timeline between N-400 is received by USCIS and decision (approval or denial). Oath follows the positive decision and isn't included in timeline.
  19. That was a mistake. Either you had to study everything and file forms yourself OR you could've hired an immigration lawyer. "Preparers", notarios often harm people's cases by filing things incorrectly or not filing at all. It typically takes 4-8 weeks to get receipt for filed petitions. So let me guess, did you pay with money order instead of personal check? Why? With personal check you can track things. Demand proof of delivery from that preparer. I'm sorry to say, but there's very great chance you got scammed. But you won't know for sure until 4-8 week go by. Did you review paperwork before it was sent? Do you have copies of what all was allegedly submitted? Like, for example, did you include medical exam I-693?
  20. Always make copies moving forward! Good luck!
  21. Biometrics may be reused so you don't have to go to appointment. There's 0 chance interview will be waived though. Everybody has to go through it.
  22. Thank you, I'll study those. But I excluded them from GPT because they're different for every state / district:
  23. Probably infamous "MyProgress". It's never right.
