scholes18 reacted to Vickys_Mom in Since yesterday, all cases have disappeared from USCIS website
It's Memorial Day weekend. If I was going to do a software upgrade and needed an entire weekend to do it, I'd do it this weekend since you'd have the extra day if you needed it.
I agree that they should have switched over the servers to an "under maintenance" page and stopped accepting requests, but things happen.
Check back again on Tuesday.
Regards,
Vicky's Mom

Interview scheduled for June 20. Was hoping it would've been waived since we got a medical RFE last month, but alas...

scholes18 reacted to Kiana & Katarina in i-485 RFE: DS-2054 vs DS-2053?
Why would I redact my post which stands completely valid? We did receive a copy of the medical exam and I copied word-for-word what the RFE stated in my original post. Is it hard to believe or something? Why would I come onto Visajourney after months of being inactive to lie? Maybe I am missing something?

you are over thinking this. CBP full knows i-485 and adjustment of status. as long as you carry proof of residency and u dont cross the border and try to enter back in, there shouldnt be an issue

Correct, that's the combo card. The case itself will not update and close until the card is produced - give it 2-3 weeks.

Requests for initial evidence (e.g., I-864) generally come from service centers early in the intake process, usually the NBC in Lee's Summit, MO.
Requests for additional evidence (e.g., medical RFEs for I-693) usually come from field offices during the actual adjudication process.

I personally took it as a good sign when our RFE was sent from a FO. My personal understanding (I am not a professional) is that it is sent to the FO for final adjunctification. From extensive googling what I found as the most common experience in the circumstance of a medical RFE from a FO was the medical RFE gets returned to the FO who then (upon approval) sends it back to NBC for them to process/send out green card.
We received a medical RFE from a FO that isn't ours, we returned it April 8th and today we got the notification (CaseTrack App) that our Greencard is being produced (Exactly 30 days after delivered to the FO and the status never changed to received- which I have seen is also common as what I have read it that the NBC has a team to update statuses and FO don't always). I have seen it is usually a minimum of 30-60 days before you hear anything back after they receive RFE response. The FO ours went to was Cincinnatti.
Best of luck!
ETA: Yes, it is normal for them to distribute to other offices with lesser workloads as well (is my understanding).

I-290 B will work. You need new sealed medical , most clinics will do a new one for reduced fee.

We got approved today and the approval notice says "We will send your Employment Authorization Document (also known as an EAD card or Form I-766) to you separately. The EAD card will have an I-512 endorsement on it, which indicates that you have been approved for advance parole"
Is this what everyone is calling the "combo card"? Also the I-765 still says 5 weeks until case decision even though they said they've made a decision. I'm sure that's just an error on their end that will go away eventually?

I stumbled upon your post about interview anxiety, and I just wanted to drop by and offer some friendly words of support. First off, it's completely normal to feel nervous before an interview – it's like butterflies in your stomach, right? But hey, you've got this! Remember, confidence is key. Take a deep breath, focus on your strengths, and go ace that interview like the rockstar you are!

scholes18 reacted to JeanneAdil in EAD cards for illegals
After doing all things legal for immigration legally to be here and taking 6 years from July 2009 till September 2015 costing both of us lots of money, i see on my Facebook another Moroc man who went to Guatemala then to Mexico and crossed into US as asslyum seeker.
Moroc does not have famine, war or threats from drug gangs. this Moroc man was bused to New York city and has . work permit in 2 weeks. i thought he lied so i looked it up on USCIS
https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-streamlines-process-for-refugee-employment-authorization-documents#:~:text=After USCIS approves a refugee's,vary%2C depending on delivery times.
USCIS has begun implementing a streamlined process for Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, to provide Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) more efficiently to eligible refugees after they are admitted into the United States. This streamlined process shortens the wait time for an EAD to approximately 30 days instead of several months. All individuals admitted into the United States as refugees on or after Dec. 10, 2023, will receive EADs pursuant to this new process.
this is not fair and i know immigration is not fair as we see on here all the time but this is wrong and we should all be upset

Check the documents tab of the I-765 in the next 24 hours. Likely a combo card approval. Same thing happened to us a few weeks ago.

At last! We have finally been approved, just short of 2 years since filing. I logged into my USCIS account yesterday to read that our case was approved (no interview). Also, it now mentions that new cards have been ordered. We are over the moon!!!!!!!!!!!

Normal. It can take months before you get EAD / AP (if you filed). Or silence for another 6-9 months, then either decision on the case, RFE or interview notice.

Combo card approved this morning. Excellent news - they can take all the time they want on the GC now for all we care. 😅

I have not. It seems like if you don't get an EAD approval shortly after biometrics, chances are you won't get it before your AOS gets approved.

Yes you should to prove you were free to marry your current spouse.
