That is the address where you want your green card mailed after you enter the US.

Are you only just filling your DS-260 now? It’s really late in the year

I don’t think they can see that. Just speculation of course. When my spouse crossed before me, they asked where I was, and my spouse had to tell them I was still in AP.

Ah, then yeah looks like you’ll have a 221g slip with your passport.

Sometimes the CO recommends approval at interview but a supervisor overrides it later upon review.

    Wish you luck!

I do wonder why they’re so hard on Canadians, it’s baffling.

Ugh...just reading this makes me a bit sick in the pit of my stomach for you.  Extreme vetting and yet, it's sent by e-mail and forgotten about.  Makes you wonder how important it really is but yet, you're stuck in immigration purgatory as a result.  All I can say is I'm sorry and I'm sending timely passage vibes for everyone stuck in this process.

@can_do you can see the timelines for a bunch of us that filed WOMs last year here (see first two tabs):  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oh7cj_1HiWa-JH82xOeRtYb6gJWjU3KcF7ALuyQmV4w/edit?usp=sharing
you can see that the timelines from file to visa in hand differ.  For me personally, it took 95 days from file to case closed.  It generally takes 2 weeks from signing on with a lawyer for them to prepare your WOM and file it with the court.  Hope this helps.  Wish I had filed a lot sooner.  we waited for 7 months in DS-5535.  If I could do it all over again, I would have filed at 90 days.  Good luck to you!

I come here to hang out with all the quirky characters that roam the site.
I'm particularly keen on soap opera like cases so crazy, that seem made up.
Also enjoy the fights among members, who exchange sometimes aggressive messages in a curious attempt to be the one who's right.

The forum is pure fun.  And if one can help and get the likes, pretty fulfilling. 😆

Montreal’s parameters seem pretty liberal, none of us here know what triggers it. Timeline is several months to a year plus. 5535 was sent to me same night of interview. Don’t send it pre-emptively, they have instructions for how they’d like to receive it, but feel free to start drafting it as the template is easily found online. Yes you can still travel, all the same rules apply.

Oh for sure, it’s better than no updates at all! The date updates happen when your file is opened for whatever reason, so at the very least you know you are not forgotten.

You didn’t do anything wrong. If the CO wanted to deny you, they would have, instead you’re in 221g which can be overcome - and for most people, it does. Eventually. I was once there too.

Keep your head up man. I waited a long time for my sojourn in administrative processing to be over, but I managed to do it. I prevailed. And I am sure you will too.
    No such luck on that...

Hey buddy you're absolutely right no one is claiming to give expert advice, we are all just sharing our experiences. But that is different from making statements that are completely inaccurate (i.e. plain wrong). Share your experiences, but don't state your guesses and assumptions as fact.

If you are thinking out loud at least preface those statements by saying something like I am not entirely sure but I believe that maybe xyz. The way you're stating your guesses makes it sound like you are stating fact and that could be to the detriment of someone who is new to the process and doesn't know better.

I encourage you to share your experiences and even your thoughts, but please be careful with your wording and make sure that when you are not fully sure of something and just sharing what you think that you are stating it in a way that makes it clear that you're sharing your thoughts and not fact/experience.

Welcome to the thread, though. Not sure if I should say happy to have you here because it makes me unhappy to see people stuck in limbo.

    cheers

The issue perhaps is that you’re trying to make sense of the status changes, when really the only one that matters is “Issued.”

“Administrative Processing” status is good too, as it often happens right before printing.

There is no standard progression really. Mine was “Issued” and went back to “Refused” for a day, never got “Administrative Processing.” Goes to show how you can’t assign too much meaning to the status.

Good job with the RCMP certificate.

I understand DS5535 and have gone through the complete forum. So cannot agree with you on this as the CO mentioned it during the interview to send it together.

The CO mentioned in the 221g to send the requested information and the passport.

    Will keep it positive.

Recent applicants who had interview are receiving the DS5535 with passports in their 221g. The DS5535 might be quick check for some applicants depending on where they have resided in last 15 years or so.

Will you be sending your passport with DS5535 ?
