Thank you. I did hear a few stories about the secondary inspection. It’s probably not horrible but the support probably helps. 

The only thing i heard of from an African coming was the way the ticket was purchased
online the USC purchased a ticket in 2 stages (2 separate tickets)  one to France (it was not a transit ) and then one from France to US
the airline would not allow the person on the plane as they had no visa for France 
France allows people to transit with a valid US visa but not to fly there in this fashion
 
and i hope i explained that 
be careful when buying online tickets 
if the person has to pick up a new one in a foreign country ,  check that country's site for rules

His English is solid. I mean, he has a thick accent of course lol but it’s his primary language. I just heard of a couple of horror stories dealing with CBP.

Specific home country may be an issue as well, depending on which one.  Other issues causing scrutiny could be a big age gap, or beneficiary's past US visa applications if any.

We are building a home in the U.S., not his country. And for timing, we married after knowing each other for about year and half. We met when I signed up to volunteer for a youth program he runs in his country. We dated long distance for that year, then married.

But in 2020 we leased an apartment (in Barbados not his home country), because Barbados was closer to the US than his home country and he doesn’t need a visa for Barbados. So we chose a place where we can be together easily, I could easily travel back and forth.

It's impossible to predict how long their decision will take and what the outcome will be.  All you can do is wait and hope for the best.

The form must be current when submitted so you are fine with the I864 as submitted. Taking the 2021 tax transcripts is good 

I know it has to be frustrating. But keep your head up. We got an RFE before too and while it hurt, the time passed quick (looking back) and we got DQ’d. While you’re waiting it’s hard. But looking back it went quick. Be encouraged.

I submitted on Febuary 9 some documets and competed on Febuary 15. I hope I get DQ soon

For anyone wondering, I did NOT upload 2021 taxes before being DQ’d.
 
Our original submission was Oct 30, 2021, reviewed on Feb 2, 2022 and at that time my financial docs were all approved. So after the RFE, I chose not to upload ‘21 taxes since financial docs were already approved.   We will take them to the interview. 

We have finally been DQ’d today!!!! 😃😭 tears of joy. Thank you God!
