Usually when you file for divorce you indicate that in the form. Once your divorce is finalized you will get a Divorce Certificate (should be ordered by yourself once Decree is issued) with already your maiden name.  
 
***At least that is how it works in Colorado

usually within a month it should move to your field office. that's just  my observation. 
You can always get in touch with your congress person to get the update.

Yeees guys finally the vawa journey is over. My greencard just got approved, then few minutes after it went to card being produced. 🥰❤️❤️ Time to join the military now 😁😁😁

May 2022 bring internal and external peace to you all -- and approval of whatever you're patiently waiting on.

Finally after 70 days of waiting i received my receipts for EAD and AP.
 
 

With PF you can apply for FAFSA (federal Aid) Must collage accepted but i do not think private Nursing school does. You must verify with the School. 

You have been waiting for so long for that EAD. I do not believe you can get a SSN through your school unless you are an on status F-1 student who got an on campus job. I was an International  student and that is how I got mine, and that was way before I got married and later filed for VAWA. 
Have you filed for a case inquiry? 
 

I believe it is possible since I took one this August. I was able to do that after applying for financial aid and just got the Pell Grant. 

prima facie three today. 6 months. hoping this is the last one i need.

Have you tried to reach out to Congress/senator? 

Congrats Ocean23. Where did you send your renewal package? My lawyer applied for renewal in March and package was sent to NBC instead of Vermont but it is still pending as of now. My extension will expire December 20 and I might be out of job. I tried to expedite last month but nothing. Not sure what to do at this time. Any recommendation?

Yes it is normal.
Most of time they approve together but some time it can be separate.
If you don't get combo card then you will get EAD and then paper base AP.
Both are same.

May 2019 ,  30 months waiting for VAWA  and counting!!!! I’m so tired and depressed. Started therapy and the man could tell by looking at me that I wasn’t ok. Why are they taking so long!! 
Thank God for school, it keeps me busy, else I’ll be on the streets picking papers or in a mental facility. Life is hard. 😩

Apply for a confidential address. When you receive it use it as you address on the divorce papers, everything will go to that address then filter through to your correct address. That’s what I did for my divorce I’m in ny as well just Google it. You should find the information there

Anyone has experience filing for divorce in NY?
I went to the  court's website to file online but had to stop when I realize that by doing so my spouse will see  my current address and SSN (which he did not know by heart). 
What would be the proper procedure to file without him having access to my personal information?
