I'm so sorry to hear things didn't work out, I can't imagine going through so much stress only for things to end. You will be in my thoughts.

Even coming on the VJ website now just breaks my heart. I think the whole emotional rollercoaster of the process, then the end of the relationship.  😢

I'm still so sad, I can't believe it.

    Good Morning,

My fiancé has an appointment next month in Johannesburg finally

Does anyone know how long after the visa is finally approved and issued she has to fly to America?

    Congratulations.

From what I know, the visa itself will be valid for 3 months from the time it has been issued.

Hope this helps and all the best.

  3. I asked again, and he said he doesn't want to go ahead. I guess if someone was sure if they wanted to marry you they would make it happen.

It's the sad truth but the more I hold onto the hope of it happening the more it hurts so it is time to just let it go.

It's very sad.. 😞 I spent a whole year, if not more planning this whole thing.

I can't do anything about it anymore.

    🥀

  4. I have read online and several other places that the NOA2 can automatically be extended for another 4 months. I did email the embassy today and they said they are still dealing with cases from 2019. Usually the embassy will extend the NOA2 automatically. (According to posts online and lawyers posts on YouTube).

There's still no communication between him and I and I feel like I need to know for certain whether or not he truly wants it. So I will be patient and just pray for the best things work out.

  5. I have all my documents except for my medical and the I-134 and his documents. We were at that stage. I was waiting for him to send me his things so I could go ahead with DS160 and the medical because all this is costly as well.

I'm still waiting... hoping that he will figure things out.

I was just concerned that our NOA2 expire on the 3rd of July 2021. Is there anyway I can extend that? I haven't scheduled an interview yet, I cannot do it without the documents.

    Thank you everyone.🌹

  6. Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice.

I haven't scheduled the interview just yet but I do believe the case is ready at the embassy.

I was awaiting documents from my fiancé and that's when this whole thing happened. Our NOA2 expires on 3rd July 2021. Does this affect the process if we had to work things out? That's what gave me anxiety in the first place is the fact that this whole thing would be for nothing or we would not make the date.

Just to clarify, the case is ready at the embassy but I haven't gone ahead and filled a DS160 yet or scheduled the appointment.

A lot of stress if every day you look for news (any news) from immigration

and then there are trigger phrases that an immigrant can say to USC that worries them

like "  i'll never get my visa"  instead of "we'll never be approved"

or "i'll never get to America which is my dream"  instead of "i'll never get to be with you (the USC)"

this process is a joint venture for 2 people always look at that way /  its for us to be together not for me to get a visa to live in  the USA

I agree. There has been loads of ups and downs. An emotional rollercoaster to say the least.

    Waiting on USCIS..

    Waiting for NVC

Not knowing what is going on...

    And then this.

I can't really describe the emotions right now. It is a lot to deal with.

Sounds to me that it's stress.  I don't think at all that he doesn't love you. Men are different than we are obviously. But they deal with stress differently.  We like to talk it out, they think in silence. We stress them out with too much talking.

If I were you and I would at least wait a week or two have gone by.   I would text him a simple message, "No matter what happens, I will always love you. Miss you."  Don't expect him to answer. But he just might.

Please keep us up to date,  I'll be praying for the best outcome for both of you.

    🤗💗🤗

I have done that. Will wait a week and see how things go.

    Thank you!

This is why when i write to many on here i say forget immigration during the process unless an there is vital information needed to send in like for an RFE or other communication with immigration

This time is suppose to be for getting to know each other and the romance of it all

We went thru 6 years and i never let Adil know how upset i was with the whole process / i talked daily about what life would be for us here and tried to keep "his spirits up"  as he got discouraged and thought it would never happen

But if going thru the K1  hassle broke you up,  the AOSEAD and AP process after you married would be a nightmare as you would be stuck at home and unable to work

If he does decide to talk ,  you are going to have to get romance back into the relationship for the reasons you fell in love,

and if you get that K1 visa,  you need to understand the rest of the journey as stated above and talk about the other processes with him before you come

it can be a nightmare and can come between 2 people when the time after marriage should be more like a honeymoon time

    You have my prayers

    I agree and I understand.

Thank you for your kind words and prayers🙏

  10. We had a couple of setbacks.

Waited 9 months for NOA2. Then had an error on the name so that needed to be changed.

I had to move back to my home country as well but the NVC sent our petition to the wrong embassy in the country that I was residing in.

Everything has been really stressful.. and I spoke to him about it. It has been overwhelming.

I guess in the end all I can do is wait and see if the love is strong enough to go ahead with everything.

Sorry that this has happened.  Hopefully it wasn't an impulse decision, especially after all this waiting and everything else.

    Thank you.

It was and wasn't. I am just trying to stay positive and praying that it will work out. I do love him very much and I hope that the situation will become better.

    🙏

Thank you everyone for the comments.

I pray and will stay positive that things work out.

If this is me-  I would do nothing fast

The USC could change the mind again and then have to start the process all over again if you wrote and cancelled interview yourself

but i would think long and hard if i really wanted to be with this person

you don't need to come here with no family,  no friends and be left alone some time in the future

its heartbreaking,  i know ,  and so sorry this happened to you

but if this is over one little argument,  give it a few days and see what happens

I agree. We currently aren't talking anymore. In fact the whole argument had to do with K1 process and I think I overwhelmed him a bit.

It is truly heartbreaking because we waited so long. Almost year now, every time there was an update I was so excited. I really love him. I still

pray that things will work out. I am praying everyday.

This whole process has been really stressful.

I will wait a few days and not do anything yet.

    Hi!

I am having a lot of trouble trying to get the Embassy in Guangzhou, China to transfer my case over to Johannesburg, South Africa.

I have contacted both, and both are telling me that they need requests from each other. I have even forwarded the email that I received from Guangzhou, to the SA embassy.

Does anyone know what I can do?

I sincerely could do with the help. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now.

    Thanks.

I have done that multiple times.

Also, Guangzhou Embassy in China is an online inquiry form so there's no way to send a direct email to them other than using the online form.

    😕 I'm a bit worried

  15. I have also received the same email. My case has also been sent to Guangzhou. However, I have moved back to South Africa to continue the process. I am a SA citizen but the Guangzhou embassy is holding onto my case and won't transfer 😕

But yes.. I also have not received an immigrant visa interview appointment from them and my case also says "ready"

Hey all. My case has been sent to the embassy and now I need to change embassy location. Do you think I should fill out the DS160 while waiting or wait for it to go to the correct embassy or does this make no difference?

    TIA

    It does make a difference.

Getting them to move it from one embassy to another is a mission. Have you been able to make the transfer? I am having problems with changing the location of the embassy

Since you’ve already contacted the Embassy in South Africa, wait for their response.

In the meantime, if you have a saved copy of your form filled out showing you did not picked China as your interview base, pull it out, reprint it and have it ready to forward it to them in no time.

They have replied to me, saying that the Embassy in China needs to send them a request.

The Embassy in China has told me the same thing.

I told them both the same issue and even forwarded the email for the China Embassy to the SA one!!!

    What else can I do?

It seems the best way is to contact your House Representative in California?(Wherever you live) and ask that they contact the embassy in Johannesburg to request your file be transferred from Guangzhou.

My House Rep contacted the visa division's chief and that got the job done. It took a month or so but the file made it.

As a reminder, while you wait you can check your NVC case status and see if the number updates with the Johannesburg tag here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

That will give you an idea of when it was moved and processed. Might give you an advanced notice so you aren't stressing waiting for an email to confirm it arrived.

    Thank you!

Thank you so much for your recommendation. I missed that one in my list of emails that I tried. IVManilaReplies@state.gov was actually the first one that I emailed. I got an automated response stating reduced staff and to visit the online resources for help. It didn't indicate that there would be an attempt at a response. I maybe should have kept trying but that auto response was discouraging.

There has been an update. My fiance's email received a response from support-philippines@ustraveldocs.com. They have escalated the ticket and the NVC case number has been appended with 01 MNL to the end. For anyone else that might be going through this, the tickets are posted https://cgifederal.secure.force.com. I checked the NVC case number https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

The email response doesn't give much detail but a step in the right direction. Now when I look up the case it shows Philippines as the embassy to contact.

How did you get them to change it? I am in a similar situation. My case was sent to Guangzhou, China and I need it transferred to Johannesburg, South Africa. I have emailed the respected embassies but no response. I need help and advise. The case status says it is already ready in China, but I am leaving China to go back to my home country which is SA.
