@Josh or …you made it to America! Incredible.
Your passport has a stamp on it that proves you are LPR as IR , if I recall..so you will get a 10 year green card….sooner or later.
You can go in person to Social Security office and ask them to print a verification if possible and update mailing address.
Find a stable place/ address and leave your wife alone if she owns a gun…
Do an AR-11 change of address

I would report the SS card as stolen by her.  She cannot cancel your green card.  Find a divorce attorney to protect yourself legally.  Seek spousal support from her under the I-864 she signed.  Move on and seek happiness for yourself.

Bat man reacted to Crazy Cat in K-1 vs CR-1 time to visa
Sometimes, there are reasons to consider the long term effects of a decision:

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.
    K-1
        More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also
In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice
A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire

    CR-1
        Less expensive than K-1
        No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

As much as I understand that you want to be together as soon as possible, just basing a decision on timelines might not be the best approach. Timelines vary per country and per case even.

Why not look at what the pros and cons of the K1 and CR/IR1 are? The K1 will put the immigrant in a very tricky situation during the required adjustment of status period. They are stuck in the US without being able to be independent for many months. I know that this might not seem like a big issue at this point, you just want to be together as soon as possible, but reality will kick in very quickly.

The CR/IR1 will give the immigrant the opportunity to be independent, free to work and travel immediately upon arrival in the US. They will have a better opportunity of getting settled and integrate in the US. I my opnion, your life together in the US will be more of an equal partnership this way.

I get tired of people saying their visa was rejected simply because they receive a 221g. This is NOT a rejection it is asking for more clarification or documentation. It gives you the chance to send them what they are asking for as well as a cover letter explaining your situation.

Submit your information along with a cover letter. I think you may have a problem.

You will not get a visa/green card if you can't show intent that you plan on living in the US now or in the near future. You have to go to the US within 6 months of the medical exam or the visa will expire. No point in giving you a visa if you can't show proof of planning to go there.

Petitioner needs to establish domicile. After that, you should get your visa.

She can get an apartment, bank account etc as proof of domicile

Bat man reacted to MarJhi in Waiting for AOS/EAD - how do people spend these 6-9 months without work?
My biggest worry for my fiance when she finally does get here is her getting bored until she is able to work. In her current job in the Philippines she works 50 to 60 hours per week and outside of work she is more of a homebody. But at home she has a large family, 8-10 people living there at any given time so there is always a lot of activity. When she gets here she wont be working at all and when I am at work she will be by herself. I have had this conversation with her many times that I am concerned about her getting bored until she can start working but she seems to believe that wont happen. She says she will keep the same schedule as me (I work overnights) which will essentially have her on a similar schedule to family and friends back home. She says she will probably just be talking to them on Whatsapp if she gets bored while I am working, which I guess that does make things a little easier. I am working on things for her to do while she waits, like learning to drive, volunteering at the elementary school next door to where I live etc. She also dealt without work for 9 months when her employment was shut down during the pandemic, so she is pretty confident she can deal with the time off again once she gets here.

One thing she is fine with is her English language skills. Her English is excellent, maybe just needs help with pronunciation here and there. She loves to read and her genre of choice is American spy/adventure novels. For years she kept a dictionary and a thesaurus with her as she reads so she can look up any words she doesn't know, so her vocabulary is better than most Americans I think.

Not sure, if I'm an exception... but I had absolutely no problem with being unemployed for months. Lol

When I arrived, I tried to make myself feel at home. I tidied up, cleaned, painted every room of the house, fixed broken things, started woodworking, built shelves, worked in the yard, and so on... I did everything that I never had the time or energy for when I was still living in Germany.

I live in a very rural area. So, I also explored the woods, went hiking, etc. Then after a few weeks, I also adopted a dog from the shelter and spend all my free time with him. I built him a fence, bed, an agility trail, etc...

    Time actually flew by.
Wish I could have been unemployed even longer. I didn't get everything done that I wanted to get done 😁

One thing I have learned is that people who are just starting out value speed over all other benefits. I don't know if it is because they are in a honeymoon phase and are anxious to be united with their new love asap.

I joke with my friends irl on how the K1 is like the sports car you've always wanted as a kid. Nevermind that it is expensive, has horrible gas mileage, uncomfortable and impractical for every day use, and cost a lot of money to maintain...you just want it because it goes fast.
