I think we'd have been ok. Otherwise, I could have asked them to come back at night with a sonometer and see if they could sleep next to him lol 💤💤, or with a camera to show them how much I turn around 😬

If there are important mail pieces you need sent to the US, like bank info, student loans, pension documents etc then you'd need to contact each entity in the UK and change your address. You can also pay a fee to royal mail for forwarding. Please keep in mind that any correspondence sent from the UK to the US is going to take a very long time to arrive, and unfortunately may be lost in my experience, so if there is anything financially important try to have something set up online where you can monitor it from there.

Unless you have valid reasons for an expedite (https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/expedite-requests) you have to wait your turn just like everybody else. Once she has her immigrant visa, then she'll be able to move to the US and get her green card on arrival.

I'd take the advice of everybody on this thread and meet her first, particularly if she's younger than you, to make sure she genuinely loves you and wants to be with you for you, not just for a green card and/or financial benefits. The whole process will cost a fair amount and take quite a long time before she can move to the US, so best to be 100% sure before you start it.

If your motivations to marry this person are in any way deviating from the fact that you love this person and can’t live without them, you don’t have a case to prove you’re in a bona fide relationship deserving of a visa of this type.

I will leave it there because as someone who has navigated this system with all the respect allowed for a discerning and tough immigration system, I have a few choice words for those who wish to undermine it. And they probably won’t be well received.

Also to add two more things (just popped into mind and previous post is outside the edit window):
If you all originally entered as K-1 and K-2s, they'll need to FTJ on your I-360 or file their own. K-1s and K-2s are able to adjust only via a petition involving the person who got you the K-1 and K-2s. This can be the original I-129F, I-130 filed by the same USC, or a VAWA I-360 where the abuser was the same USC. Proceeding with any other sponsorship you have to proceed as if they entered without inspection but worse and would have to complete the process via consular processing abroad. Another factor that tends to trigger DNA testing is lack of birth certificates (where you submit secondary proof like hospital records, church records, etc), and late registered birth certificates.

That being said, why not just have them follow to join on the I-360?
Normal VAWA protections apply to derivatives too including being able to adjust after overstay, violating one's status, or EWI even and skipping the need for an I-864 (where you file I-864W for each).

So the stuff to submit for each would be:
I-485
I-765 (optionally)
I-131 (optionally)
Copy of your I-360 approval notice
Copy of kid's birth certificate with translation if not in English
Copy of your green card
Copy of any name change documentation if the name listed on their birth certificates doesn't match your current name
Copy of kid's passport's ID page
Copy of visa and I-94 they entered with (if not an EWI)
I-864W
I-693 (can be submitted later)

I really do hope you listed them on your I-360 and I-485, otherwise I'd recommend getting a good lawyer on how to maneuver this screw up.

If you come from a high fraud country (ie. most subsaharan Africa countries like Kenya) you should also include a DNA test proving parentage. You should also be just ready to get the DNA test done if USCIS questions the parentage. Pick out a lab, call in, ask for their turnaround, and be ready to get that done ASAP should you get an RFE for further proof, it may or may not ask for a DNA test specifically.

Of note is that FTJ benefits are available up until you naturalize. The petition completely ceases to exist for FTJ purposes following a naturalization of the principal. If your kids entered legally then it's no biggie, in case of which you can just file I-130/I-485 to have them adjust in US. If they EWI'd and you naturalize they'd need to be out of the country before they're 18 years and 180 days old to avoid re-entry bars and need for an I-601 or I-601A waiver.

Why does the health of a relationship depend on whether or not you sleep in the same bed? I think it's silly. If you are content sleeping apart, go for it. If you prefer to be together, have at er. I'd go so far as to say that if your sleep is jeopardized, your relationship is far more likely to be challenged than if you contentedly earn a good night's sleep solo!

My grandparents slept in separate rooms for exactly the reasons listed above - snoring competitions and unrestful sleep. My grandfather was a firefighter and worked shift work, too, so it was just easier for him to be tucked away in his own quiet quarters.

At the end of the day, gotta do what's best for you and your relationship, end of story!

It is your choice to fill it out or not.
My experience is that unless the foreigner LPR is receiving a LOT of interest dividends from the US bank, then the W8-BEN paperwork is worth the trouble to fill out.
If the bank interest is less than say 1000, then withholding 30% isn't worth filing the W8-BEN.
Most joint filers mix the 30% bank withholding in the IRS filing return anyway.

email other embassies, make a case for yourself

asking "can i get a transfer" is usually a no
asking "can i get a transfer, my fiancee is russian and our assigned embassy is warsaw, which is in a country they cannot legally enter as their schengen has been denied. can you accept our case?" is more likely to get a yes

countries that have high rates of russian speakers or already process other russian cases are more likely to accept transfers, some people are able to get kazakh or uzbek transfers, most people are able to get jerusalem transfers

if your fiancee has residency elsewhere you can try that, but my fiance has armenian residency and they denied our transfer. some russians in serbia were able to get transfers, though.

the embassy that accepts your case transfer will request your files from warsaw. there is nothing to do on your end regarding that. warsaw will not send it anywhere if you ask, only if another embassy does.
