  1. TIME Magazine weighs in, pretty accurately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Inside Biden's Debate Disaster and the Scramble to Quell Democratic Panic As President Joe Biden was going over his final notes with his inner circle and getting ready to debate Donald Trump on June 27 in Atlanta, his wife slipped into a nearby meeting of the Democratic Party's biggest donors. The Biden Victory Fund and the Democratic National Committee's financial bigwigs had all assembled in the Ritz Carlton as part of a two-day political briefing that featured emotional pep talks and face-time with VIPs. "Joe's ready to go," Dr. Biden told the group. "He's prepared." Fact check: false. [...] https://time.com/6993760/joe-biden-debate-disaster-democratic-panic/
  2. Sean Davis has a way of going right to the heart of a matter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can Democrats Just Dump Biden And Move On? It's Not That Simple Will Democrats replace Joe Biden as their presidential nominee? It's not that simple, logistically or politically, as long he's still alive. States have pretty strict rules on last-second ballot changes, but Democrats have always found ways to get courts to rewrite laws for them at the last second. Just look at what they did for Frank Lautenberg and Robert Torricelli in New Jersey. It would be a heavy lift but not an impossible one. The real problem for Democrats is political: Removing Biden as nominee requires them to deny and reject the election results of their voters in all 50 states after they spent four years accusing everyone else of being "election deniers." They also will have a very hard time removing Biden as nominee but leaving him in as president. If he's not mentally fit to be on the campaign trail or debate stage, how on Earth can he be fit enough to remain as president? The downsides of that strategy are immense, with little upside. 3. All true, but everyone should be aware of the protocol and format in my post just above. The notary can get into trouble (and documents can be rejected by agencies or authorities, maybe or maybe not including USCIS) if a notary whips out the notary seal and simply stamps a plain letter. Your bank may have one or more notaries who can notarize customers' signatures at no charge. UPS stores and other notaries may charge a nominal fee that's authorized by the state where you live.
  4. Thrilling Saturday report, see man: For the first Saturday in memory, we neither itineraried or sought out a GS/ES, historic man. Mini-B. and we lazed in bed till late morning, laze Two Guys man. Lunch was PB&J sandwiches, 2 for Mini-B. one for us man. Around 2 p.m., we returned to Walmart for the rest of Mama T-B.'s list, everything found there man. Delivered stuff to Mama T-B., appreciative senior she man. Got thoroughly lectured at great length about all the usual topics, lecture senior she man we man. Din-din was Many (2+1) evenly split Walmart beef/bean burritos, ingest Two Guys man. Had Mini-B. accepted our original idea, the week's meals would have been exactly as planned, oh well man. Movie night was Many Everybody Hates Chris episodes, watch Two Guys man. Many (2+2) bowls of Costco popcorn were consumed, ingest Two Guys man. This tallies to Many (2x2x2x2 -1) bowls for the week, completely respectable man. Miu zzz'd on Big Bruddah's bed for probably Many (2+2+2+1) hours today, zzz miu man. New miu-box still operating as intended, big relief man. Perhaps party with the rubias tonight, feeling almost back to normal we man. Two Guys visit to Mama T-B. on Sunday, visit Two Guys senior she man man. We should detour to Uncle T-B. to review preop eyedrop usage, confirm we man with senior he man man. And that was/is our thrilling Saturday, report we man.
  5. Notaries notarize signatures, not documents. The following is not legal advice, but the outcome of observation: 1. The witness can put his/her statement in the form of an affidavit, with the notary-certification language included. The notary can administer a jurat oath whereby the witness shows positive identification (driver's license or other government-issued ID), swears that he/she is the person signing in the presence of the notary, and swears that he/she is signing the affidavit freely/willingly for the purposes stated therein; or 2. The witness can attach a separate page to his/her letter, swearing or acknowledging that the attached letter is his/her truthful statement. The witness would then sign the separate page in the presence of the notary. After either of the above, the notary would sign and stamp the appropriate page.
  6. I'm almost willing to bet cash money that there will be internal terrorist attacks either right before November 5 or during Bidementia's lame-duck months before Trump's inauguration. Really hate to say that...
  7. This, and, perhaps even more so, Dr. Jill and her ego. You've nailed it. It almost has to be voluntary, or else the Democrats are hosed.
  8. Trump could have stuck the dagger all the way in if, in his closing statement, he'd mournfully said, "Something else we need in this country is stronger protection against elder abuse." Independent of the above, I think that both of them really muffed their closing statements.
  9. Ah -- thanks. Seems to me that regular people without high security clearances wouldn't have access to the full spectrum of security steps (or to request them), and that information learned might expire before the visa process proceeded. In addition, these checks might be open to abuse -- e.g., a "petitioner" wouldn't be interested in petitioning at all, but rather in finding dirt on someone overseas for blackmail or harassment. Sorry for suggesting negative possibilities, but they came to mind.
  10. "Who's A Good Boy? Huh? Who's A Good Boy?" Says Jill Biden Congratulating Biden With A Treat ATLANTA, GA — Following Biden's debate performance, First Lady Jill Biden offered her husband a treat for his efforts at a rally following the event. "Who's a good boy?" Jill asked a glazed-over Joe. "Does my Joey want a snacky-snack? Good boy! You did so great up there, not dying and totally staying upright for so many minutes. Atta boy!" 11. Trump Indicted For Murdering Elderly Man On CNN ATLANTA — Tonight's presidential debate ended abruptly when Donald Trump was served with papers notifying him that he had been indicted for the murder of an elderly man on CNN. "Hey, I didn't do anything!" Trump told authorities. "He was like that when I got here!" [...] https://babylonbee.com/news/trump-indicted-for-murdering-elderly-man-on-cnn
  12. I buy this; do you? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Worst Video From Debate Night and the Real Reason Biden Isn't Going Anywhere [...] Biden's performance was so bad that even his biggest supporters wouldn't (and couldn't) spin it as a "win." And, believe it or not, Jill Biden made it worse when the debate was over. Once the debate had officially concluded and Trump left the stage, Joe Biden remained at his podium, waiting until his wife Dr. Jill came to help him. The footage speaks for itself. 13. Read this piece and offer thoughts, please. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If Joe Shouldn't Be the Candidate, He Should Leave Office Now [...] In other words, Joe Biden has to be replaced as president. I don't mean his name has to be taken off the ballot for this November. I mean, he must be ushered out the door, either voluntarily or by the actions of his cabinet. 14. Julie Kelley, the heroine of J6 victims, speaks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Supreme Court Overturns DOJ's Use of Key J6 Felony Court In a devastating but well-deserved blow to the Department of Justice's criminal prosecution of January 6 protesters, the U.S. Supreme Court today overturned how the DOJ has used 18 USC 1512(c)(2), the most prevalent felony in J6 cases. The statute, commonly referred to as "obstruction of an official proceeding," has been applied in roughly 350 J6 cases; it also represents two of four counts in Special Counsel Jack Smith's J6-related criminal indictment of Donald Trump in Washington. 15. This one, more about the underlying issue than the debate itself, hits home in many ways. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why the Democrats lied about Joe Biden's frailty So this is how republics die. Not with a bang but with the hoarse ramblings of their ageing leaders. Few events have shone a light on 'American decline' as much as Joe Biden's sad, impassive performance in last night's CNN presidential debate. Here was the leader of the free world speaking in faint, broken tones, and struggling to stay focussed, and at points seeming to blank out entirely. Before the eyes of the world, it became clear: this man is too old, too frail and too infirm to be at the helm of America. And yet, Old Joe's physical infirmity is not the thing that should horrify us. [...] https://www.spiked-online.com/2024/06/28/why-the-democrats-lied-about-joe-bidens-frailty/
  16. Si re when you see the si-side, si Y ma'am. ----- Thrilling Friday non-GS/ES report, see man: We awoke earlier than usual, intent on ESs man. Almost as soon as we were nearly coherent, one of Uncle T-B.'s doc's offices called, si man. Reschedule Manyober Many'th to Manyober Many'th, get early jump on this we guess man. We managed to rouse Mini-B., minor miracle man. We were about to start our shower when cataract-surgery place called, si man. We got all details, none of which Uncle T-B. will probably be able to follow man. We will have to be there at Many (2+2+2) a.m. -- si man, Many (2+2+2) a.m. -- man! This is cruel, unusual, inhumane, tortuous punishment, clearly man. Why is the medical field so very ultra-screwed-up, huh man? Finally got ES-ing, GS already past its time man. Stopped at Walmart for Mama T-B., fetch we man. Lunch was 1 + half a "beef & bean Big Burrito" each from W'mart's sandwich case, ingest Two Guys man. Mini-B. heartily approved of this menu item, as did we man. Each cost $1 + Many (2x2x2x2x2 + 2+2+1) cents, better than Costco's hot dog man. We have found a new menu staple, glee man! An uninterrupted (imagine that man) siesta was taken, zzz we man. Din-din was Costco angusburgers, the end of the Aldi chocolate cake, and root beer, ingest Two Guys man. Mini-B. didn't want a movie night, oh well man. We mowed front yard, in full shade but soupy-humid, consume 2 sweatbands we man. We will have to find a way to compile a comprehensible pre-/postsurgical instruction sheet for Uncle T-B., won't comply with it regardless senior he man. No party with the rubias again tonight, recover from Covid-Many we man. No GSs/ESs scheduled for Saturday, got all the proximal ones man. And that was/is our thrilling Friday, report we man.
  17. OP has not returned since the day after posting. Old thread is now closed.
  18. Which makes ours an even bigger threat to Our Democracy!
  19. NB's girlfriend Pelosi knows where all of Kommie Harris' bodies are buried, and Gov. Hair Gel is her son-in-law. 'Nuff said?
  20. Very good historical point that merits being brought up. There may be less material available on another example: in 1912, former Pres. Theodore Roosevelt entered the presidential race very late, on the "Bull Moose" ticket, against Pres. William Howard Taft. Roosevelt's entrance split the Republican vote and put the evil Woodrow Wilson in the White House -- one of the biggest disasters in U.S. history. There are bad presidents and evil ones, and I call Wilson out as even more evil than Obama.
  21. Thank you for returning with your happy update, and for taking the time to post the details! This is exactly the sort of VJ post that helps everybody. Congratulations -- keep us apprised and your timeline updated!
  22. Thrilling Friday GS/ES report, see man: We attended the ESs, but the GS timed out, medical phone calls coming in for Uncle T-B. delayed things man. The first of the Many (2+2) ESs yielded the take, see man: -- seemingly full bottle Crest Total Advanced mouthwarsh; verrry sharp cheese-knife = $Many ($2+1), steal man Total = $Many ($2+1)
  23. Accountability begins, finally. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Former Uvalde Police Chief in Custody, Facing Charges for Response to Robb Elementary School Shooting Former Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Pedro "Pete" Arredondo and another former officer are facing charges of child endangerment for their response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in 2022. Arredondo was reportedly in custody at the Uvalde County jail. These are the first criminal charges against law enforcement officers in connection with the shooting. 24. Wella, wella! ~~~~~~~~~ Judge Cannon's Latest Ruling May Have Shot Down One Trump Claim but It's Likely Giving Jack Smith Ulcers We knew Judge Aileen Cannon likely wouldn't rule right away on the multiple motions heard before her over the past week in the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump. The issues are complicated, and there are a lot of moving parts in the case. So when I first saw the headline: "Cannon rejects Trump claims FBI botched Mar-a-Lago search," I was a bit surprised at the swiftness of the ruling. And I figured Trump and his legal team were likely disappointed with the ruling. Then I took a closer look (always recommended). 25. Yes -- important, and a relief to see! Here's a more pessimistic post, part of some of mine from the VJ server changeover, recovered and posted here: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Supreme Court Is Not Going To Save You The Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling in Murthy v. Missouri dropped Wednesday, shattering the hopes of conservatives that maybe, just maybe, the Judicial Branch would stand up for the First Amendment rights of ordinary Americans against the egregious abuses of the executive bureaucracy. But no. The Court instead ruled that the plaintiffs lacked standing because the Biden White House allegedly backed off of its censorship campaign after the 2022 midterms (it didn't). The ruling essentially allows the federal government to continue trampling on the First Amendment rights of ordinary Americans by deputizing social media companies to do what federal agencies cannot do directly: police what Americans are allowed to say online.
