  1. "Face time" (time spent together in person) is the chief way for the consular officer to validate a bona fide relationship. You can pass the USCIS petition phase by meeting once within 2 years before filing, but the consular phase is a separate matter. As recommended, try to meet again, either before filing the petition or between filing and the visa interview.
  2. Welcome to the forum! Sorry for the bad news. No, they wouldn't want your original U.S. passport. Might his Mexican passport be expired or damaged? Just speculating. The consulate can clarify, tough though it is to reach it. *** Thread is moved to the Mexico/Latin/South American regional forum for country-specific advice. ***

  11. Haitian Cannibal Gangs Pour Over US Border After Seeing How Fat Americans Are EL PASO, TX — After hearing about the size of the average American, Haitian cannibal gangs rushed the southern border near El Paso this week in a race to be first in line for the smorgasbord. "Hey man, look at dat," Haitian cannibal and political leader Barbecue said. "Those are some chunky, chubby, rolly polly people coming at me. Hang on, let me grab my bib and steak knives. 12. Pentagon Anticipates a Surge of Refugees From Haiti [...] Haiti is a failed nation, and the events of Feb. 29 and those that have followed them have only compounded the country's misery. The New York Post notes that as gangs overrun the country, hospitals have closed or run out of medicine. Schools, banks, government offices, and stores have closed, and food and water are running scarce. U.S. missionaries are trapped there, and no help seems to be coming. 13. ABC: Transcript Proves Hur Correct About Biden's Memory (Updated) Didn't we already know this? Almost exactly a month ago, special counsel Robert Hur released his report on the investigation into Joe Biden's illegal retention of classified material in his home and office. Hur declined to charge Biden with a crime, explaining that a jury would be unlikely to convict an elderly man with memory loss so profound that he couldn't even recall the year his eldest son died. Biden and the White House accused Hur of using Beau Biden to set him up. The media accused Republicans of "salivating" and "pouncing," and excoriated Hur for politiciizing the report. But not too long after that, leaks from those who saw the transcripts made it clear that Biden brought up Beau, not Hur. And Biden used him in the way Biden always uses Beau -- as a shield, a point ABC News confirms this morning after reading the transcripts: [...] https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2024/03/12/abc-transcript-proves-hur-correct-about-bidens-memory-n3784524
  14. Finally, some seeming justice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This couple lost their home after police seized their cash. A jury awarded them $1 million Jurors awarded an Alabama couple $1 million after deputies took thousands of dollars from them in a warrantless raid that left them broke and living in a shed. A deputy from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office in January 2018 showed up at Gregory and Teresa Almond's home in Woodland, Alabama, to serve Greg with civil papers, Reason Magazine reported. The deputy left, but reported smelling marijuana. Hours later, a drug task force broke down their door, threw a flash grenade that detonated at Greg's feet and started ransacking the couple's home. A couple of the offenders got off very lightly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Four people caught running 'large-scale' marriage scam to get green cards for 600 migrants: DOJ [...] According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts, four Philippine nationals in Los Angeles were arrested for marriage fraud and immigration document fraud after they created "hundreds of sham marriages" between illegal migrants. Authorities said that 50-year-old Marcialito Biol Benitez operated the agency in a brick-and-mortar office in Los Angeles between October 2016 and March 2022. 16. It is Wednesday -- time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ============================================================= AND THAT'S WHEN THE FIGHT STARTED... When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive. So I took her to a gas station. That's when the fight started... I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first. "I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please." He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?" "Nah, she can order for herself." And that's when the fight started... My wife stood nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She was unhappy with what she saw. She said to me, "I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need for you to give me a compliment." I said, "Your eyesight's darn near perfect." And that's when the fight started... I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light beer for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95. I told her that the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream would. And that's when the fight started... My wife asked me if a certain dress made her butt look big. I told her not as much as the dress that she'd worn yesterday. And that's when the fight started... I asked my wife, "Where do you want to go for our anniversary?" It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation. "Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said. So I suggested, "How about the kitchen?" And that's when the fight started...
  17. Agreed, but his cabinet would never 25A him, and the vote threshold in the Legislative houses wouldn't be met. Looks like we're stuck until the November vote totals, which need to account for further fraud.

  20. Congratulations! ----- The situation is resolved, so this thread is now closed.
  21. The same as in a law enforcement contact/detention/arrest situation, "anything that you say can and will be used against you." This is perhaps even truer in an airport-security situation. If TSA wants to pat you down and you say, "Be careful -- I have a very tender butt," the chances exponentially increase that they'll manhandle your butt... and perhaps not just the outside. To everyone else: Answer direct questions with a minimal amount of honest reply, volunteer nothing, and avoid attracting attention to yourself. To the OP: Glad that you made it. Become an "A" student of all phases of the immigration process to come.

  23. On the lighter side... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boeing Blames Gravity For Recent Mishaps ARLINGTON, VA — As aircraft malfunctions and incidents continued to make headlines, aerospace corporation Boeing blamed gravity for its recent string of mishaps. With passengers growing more concerned about instances of airplanes losing their doors, wings, and landing gear in mid-flight, the aircraft manufacturing giant was quick to shift blame from their heavily criticized engineering and quality standards to the force that pulls objects of mass toward the center of the earth.
