  1. Thrilling Tuesday/Mexico report, see man: We arose at half-past Many (2+2+1) a.m., man. We had to skip shaving to get out on time, oh well man. Flight landed a few minutes early and car rental went quickly, boon man. Arrived at favorite Mexican town, arrive we man. Parking on the U.S. side was mobbed when we arrived at Many (2x2x2 +2+1) a.m., wow man. A heavily armed Mexican soldier briefly checked our carry-bag, safety man. Weather was great, whee man: upper Manys, very low humidity, unusual man. We needed just one sweatband, and only later man. Place was mobbed with gringos, end of Winter Texan season man. We immediately turned to walk down a parallel street, much less crowded man. At a drugstore, got a tupac of Oral B-type teethbrushes for $2, steal man. Lunched at favorite restaurant, destination for we man. We got our usual: Many (2+2+1) strips grilled tilapia, fries, salad, rice, & chips/salsa, ingest we man. The price has been $Many ($2x2x2 +1) for years, quite reasonable man. This time, it was $Many ($2x2x2 +2+1), inflation man. Got our hairs cut in new barbershop, same barber as last time man. He speaks excellent English, si man. He's a native of this small town and lives just 2 blocks from where he works, how convenient man. The price was $Many ($2x2x2 +2), reasonable man. Only shopping was on the agenda after this, no rush man. Weather was great, see above man. We walked Many (2+2+2) blocks to the very end of the commercial area, explore we man. We sat on the peel-painted bench in the town park and watched the kids play, watch they we man. We then walked over to the main street and back up, explore we man. We got tupacs of wafer crackers filled with strawberry & chocolate, one for Mini-B. one for Mama T-B. man. We got a sign that says, roughly, "Don't worry about looking ugly; worry about its being permanent," hee hee man. We visited our dentist's office to set our appointment for May Many'st, set we man. We got our medicines at 2 different pharmacies, purchase we man. In the U.S., one costs $Many (over $2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2x2x2), ridiculous man. Same thing (with Spanish label) costs $Many ($2x2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2x2 + 2+2+1), better man. We got Many (2+2+1), financially savvy we man. Our leisurely loitering brought us to nearly Many (2+1) p.m., nothing more to do man. We headed up the return footbridge, head we man. We were startled to see dozens of pup-tents and items hanging off both railings, startled we man. It was illegals camping out, seek U.S. entry they man. They were of all races and nationalities, obvious man. The wide footbridge was reduced to just one narrow path, really reduced man. Gringos pulling carts with their Mexican purchases were struggling to get through, hard man. We strained our body trying to carry our heavy soft bag, man. At the port, we asked our CBP agent if all the illegals were going to get in, ask she man we man. She said, "If they have credible reason, they'll be let in, ultimately man," si man. This brought memories of trying to get Mrs.-T-B.-to-be here and raised our blood pressure, man. We then drove to the local branch of our favorite large thrift-shop, discount day for we man. We got Mini-B. Many (2+2+2+1) shirts, Many (2+1) pants, and Many (2+1) underwears, score we man. Our discount was $Many-&-a-half ($2x2x2x2 + half a buck), financially savvy we man. We ultimately paid $Many ($2x2x2x2x2 + 2+2+1), financially savvy we man. We confirmed by text that Mini-B. was ministering to miu, past time for miu-lunch and treats man. We then went for din-din, not too hungry but figured we'd avail ourself of good Mexican chow man. We found the restaurant that had overcharged us in Manycember, try again we man. We consumed 2 enchiladas, a taco, and rice/beans, ingest we man. It was quite good, approve we man. The cost was $Many ($2x2x2 +2+2), careful to watch menu price we man. We were not overcharged this time, good thing for them man. We still had a couple of hours to kill, too bad no earlier flights but that's the schedule man. We gassed the rental T-B.-mobile, gas prices Many (2x2x2 +2) cents higher than at home man. We returned to the airport, quite early we man. No one was at Hertz/Dollar rental counter, very strange man. Many (2+2+1) people were waiting to rent, they man. We used the Express Drop, fortunate we man. With no luggage to check and return boarding pass in hand, we sauntered upstairs, saunter we man. The TSA agents, usually illegitimate male children, actually acted normal, true surprise man. Plane was only one-Many'rd full, surprising boon man. Took off early and landed Many (2x2x2x2 +2+2+1) -- si man, Many (2x2x2x2 +2+2+1) -- minutes early, boon man. We were on the parking shuttle before original "landing time" occurred, major boon man. Frantic miu greeted us at the casa, Where Were You Daddy man. We brushed and din-dinned miu, good miu-parenting by we man. Showered, highly necessary man. Would have posted Thrilling Mexico report after that, but had momentous e-mails man. Several central African and central Asian countries want to buy POTSs, national inve$tment$ man. Our body hurt all over, HSM at bedtime we man. We conclude that it was a pretty good day, conclude we man.
  2. This is true. Proactive correction is appreciated and almost always accepted, especially at the consular level. Major congratulations!
  3. On Tuesday, I did a day-trip to border Mexico (see "Illegals" thread for much more). I stopped at my favorite restaurant for lunch*. *5 slices grilled tilapia, French fries**, salad, rice, chips/salsa **normally real (sliced from fresh potatoes), but this time obviously bagged The price for years has been $8.99. This time, it was $11. I asked why. The waiter said, "José Beeden." I said, "Biden? Aquí ?!" [here?!] He said, "Sí," and made a downward motion indicating money or visitors from the U.S. This restaurant does get supplies (bottled water, etc.) from the U.S. Looks like Bidementia is tanking more than just the U.S. economy.
  4. Dachshunds under threat as Germany proposes ban on breeding Germany's beloved sausage dog, the dachshund, could be under threat in the country, its national kennel club said Wednesday, citing a new draft law that looks to prohibit the breeding of dogs with "skeletal anomalies." The draft bill, published in February and currently being considered by the authorities, was introduced as part of the Animal Protection Act, which seeks to strengthen existing laws on so-called "torture breeding," the German government said. https://www.yahoo.com/news/dachshunds-under-threat-germany-proposes-181858101.html
  5. Woman Gets Shock of Her Life While Caring for Injured 'Baby Hedgehog' [...] a woman in Cheshire, England, has proven to have the biggest soft spot for animals out of anyone when she brought in what she thought was a baby hedgehog to the Lower Moss Wood Reserve and Wildlife Hospital. Except it wasn't a baby hedgehog. Not even close. [...] https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/woman-gets-shock-her-life-171500755.html
  6. No link, because this is an eyewitness report. On Tuesday, I did a day-trip to my favorite border town in Mexico, one frequented by Winter Texans. The place was very busy with tourists, local shoppers, et al. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. One can drive across, or park on the U.S. side and walk about 400 paces into town. I walked. On the return as I approached the footbridge, I saw dozens of tents. These were kind of like pup-tents, multicolored but in the same style, so someone coordinated this. Inside and around the tents were illegals. Dozens and dozens of illegals, of all ages. I saw Hispanics of all sorts, African/Caribbean people, Chinese, and blonde/blue people. The normally wide walkway was narrowed to a path that enabled just one person to pass. The tents took a lot of space; illegals had hung their blankets, clothes, etc. on both sides of the railing. Americans pulling carts with their Mexican purchases got hung up in the junk strewn on the ground. I had a heavy soft bag and strained myself trying to avoid the obstructions. At the head of this line, right at the border, was a glum CBP agent. The gringo ahead of me asked him, "What countries are all these [bleeping] illegals from?" The agent said, "All over the world." The gringo said, "F Majorkas, and F Joe Biden!" I told the agent, "I agree with him [the gringo], and November can't come soon enough." The agent nodded. Inside the port, other CBP agents were checking passports. I said, "Don't tell me that all those [censored] illegals are going to get in?!" She said, "They're waiting for appointments, and if they have credible reasons, they'll get in." I said something unprintable and added, "God bless you and your colleagues." She said, "Thank you; we appreciate that whenever we hear it." This is just a small port. About 3 years ago, a bunch of Cubans (who had money) were lined up here. I learned later that they'd been sent to Matamoros (Brownsville) and admitted there. Bidementia is evil, insane, or both.
  7. This is wonderful news! Be sure to report everything in detail.
  8. Hoo boy, but we're in need of lightening the mood. Accordingly, here's our Semiweekly Semiofficial VAWA-Thread Joke: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ALWAYS THINK AHEAD! The customer of the photo studio threw down the proofs in disgust. "I certainly don't like these photos of me at all," he declared. "I look like an ape!" The photographer gave him a withering glance. "That may be, sir," he admitted. "But you should have thought of that before you had them taken."

  10. Byron York's enlightening column: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trump, on the Trump intensity gap I have a story on the website about a recent visit to Mar-a-Lago for a conversation with former President Donald Trump. (You can read the whole thing here.) At any given moment, there are lots of subjects in the news one could ask Trump about, but I decided to focus on a longer-term story — how he managed to come back from the disastrous end of his presidency in early 2021 to become the 2024 Republican Party presidential nominee. It's really a story about the intensity gap between Trump's supporters and everybody else. [...] https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/daily-memo/2936284/trump-on-the-trump-intensity-gap/

  13. Scintillating Monday repartee, yawn man. ------- Thrilling Monday report, see man: Uncle T-B. sent his grocery list, always a mile long man. We got most of the stuff at Aldi, save around $Many man. On our way to second store, it began to rain, cloudburst man. We decided to deliver the main batch, grateful senior he man man. Lunch was Subway WUOC, financially savvy we man. A siesta was then taken, zzz we man. Upon our awakening, rain was over, get rest of Uncle T-B.'s stuff we man. Of course, it was after-skool and after-work traffic, man. Got stuff and delivered it, grateful senior he man man. Did admin & getaway stuff before Tuesday's trip, Mexico man. Miu suspects something and has become ultra-needy, highly interactive miu man. We shall be gone only for the day, fly there morn fly back eve we man. This does not matter to miu, Who Will Serve Me When Daddy's Gone man. Mini-B. has been told Many times that he is to serve miu after skool, bet he'll forget man. Din-din was toucans of store-label Beefaroni, ingest we man. We must go to bed as close to midnight as possible, anathema man. We must arise by half-past Many (2+2+1) a.m., blasphemy and and man. Accordingly, no party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

  15. Life isn't fair -- hasn't anyone made that clear? Hopefully ample and effective toilet paper.
  16. To this day, no one has explained how Ukraine's strategic importance warrants such U.S. attention to it.
  17. This brings back memories of the 55-mph speed limit. If that's resumed today, every trucker will run afoul of service hours or have to take 1.5 days to complete their routes, thus causing supply-chain problems, wreaking havoc with truckers' pay, and damaging the economy. Does anyone here think that the leftists have thought about any of this? Probably more pertinent today are calls to "charge by miles driven."
  18. Sensible. The chief thread in the world today is Jihad.
  19. Please read the whole thing and comment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ America Is Going To Be Targeted For A Massive Terrorist Attack … Will You be Ready? It happened in Israel, and it happened in Moscow, and it's going to happen here in America – again, and exponentially worse. The jihadis' merciless war against the West – the Muslim fanatics are not so finicky as we are about our distinctions between the Jewish state, Russia, and us, the Great Satan – did not end when the regime media started covering other things. We may have fled Afghanistan and Libya and largely pulled out of Iraq, but that war is still going on. It's going to go on until we decisively win it. But unfortunately, our ruling class refuses to decisively win it. In fact, our ruling class actively undermines attempts to win it. And it refuses to prepare for what's coming. 21. Experts Say Seizing Trump's Assets Won't Be Easy for Letitia James The Monday deadline for former President Trump to pay his $464 million bond or risk having his assets seized in the corrupt city of New York ticks. 22. Bobulinski's Testimony: Unraveling Allegations of Biden Family Influence Peddling The entertainment committee never sleeps. Hunter Biden's former business partner Tony Bobulinski came to Congress a few days ago to testify before the House Oversight Committee about Hunter, his uncle Jim Biden, and the "Big Guy," Mr. 10 percent, Joseph R. Biden himself. It was an extraordinary performance. Calm. Deliberate. Detailed. Deadly. Mr. Bobulinski's written statement shows what care he took in marshaling facts and evidence. But it was his in-person testimony that made popping the corn worthwhile. Tony Bobulinski and Congressman Jay Raskin. Tony Bobulinski and Congressman Dan Goldman. He called both liars to their faces. Plain talk, expressed elegantly, by a former liberal Democrat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why Trump is Polling Ahead of Biden Unlike most people in the media, Frank Luntz spends a lot of time talking to regular folks. 24. Jonathan Turley is concerned, with good reason. Comments? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Free speech hangs in the balance in 3 Supreme Court cases This month, the Supreme Court reviewed a trifecta of free speech cases that has government and civil libertarians alike on edge. While each of the cases raises an insular issue, they collectively run across the waterfront of free speech controversies facing this country. For some of us, what was most chilling from oral arguments were the sentiments voiced by justices on the left of the court, particularly Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. The court may now be reflecting the shift among liberal scholars and politicians away from freedom of speech and in favor of greater government speech regulation.
