You would need to contact the Consulate General of India in the city closest to you in Germany.

Here’s the link for the consulate in Frankfurt. There should be one in other big cities such as Berlin and Munich:

    https://cgifrankfurt.gov.in/pages/37693cfc748049e45d87b8c7d8b9aacd#police

It appears it is very straight forward In Germany and from the website you would be able to get the police clearance certificate on the same day. Good luck!

    Hi everyone,

just a little update. We got our interview appointment today for the 8th of February (IR1). But this might be because we fall under the exceptions in the presidential proclamation and had an expedited case. Not sure if your cases are similar. Upside it, the consulate is scheduling and conducting interviews during the lockdown!

If you do fall under the exception of the presidential proclamation AND your case is already at the consulate, I would advise writing them an email. They respond very quickly!

    Hi,

I am in a similar situation. Got DQ'd in November 2020 and I've been waiting for my interview date in Frankfurt since then. I managed to get some answers out of NVC/Frankfurt Consulate since then and here's what I was told:

"Please be advised that in light of recently re-imposed COVID-19 restrictions, we cannot schedule any interview appointments until further notice and have suspended processing of all new visa applications."

This is a direct quote from the Frankfurt Consulate General, received on January 21st. Since the lockdown was extended until February 14th the day before, I am hoping this is what they are referring to and scheduling will resume once the lockdown actually ends.

    Hi everyone,
My husband's interview was today and he was approved. He said it was straightforward, they asked for his civil papers originals (birth certificate, marriage certificate, 2 police certificates - one from UAE and one from Jordan)
They asked how we met, who is the joint sponsor.
He was in and out in less than 2 hours.

Thank you, all the best to you too! The wait is so excruciating! Where did it say "Ready"? On the CEAC website it says "Your case is currently at Frankfurt". So I hope it will go quickly from now on. Do you know whether the interview appointment will come in a letter in the mail or as an email?

    Hi 😊

We applied for an IR1 visa in April 2020 (we have been married for more than 3 years and we have been living together in Germany). We got DQ on the 4th of December 2020 and got an "expedited" email on the 7th of January (we did not request an expedite). So now we are impatiently waiting for our interview appointment in Frankfurt, which could come every day now.

    Quick updated on our situation.

My original interview was scheduled for March 16th and was canceled 2 days prior to the appointment due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. I reschedule the interview for the next available date, which was April 6th.

At the same time I contacted the consulate and requested an emergency appointment due to our specific situation, which was granted for March 19th. Unfortunately, that appointment was also canceled the day prior to the interview.

Early last week the April 6th appointment was also canceled and no further appointments are currently available online.

Last Thursday night I received an email from the consulate that they were granting an emergency interview for today, April 1st.

We were 1 of 4 interviews for today (all of us CR/IR-1s I believe). We received our visas in our passports on the spot (took about 2.5 hours of waiting due to final clearance checks). The interviewing officer mentioned that they were keeping track of our case and apologized that they had to cancel the first emergency appointment. So they are aware of people’s individual situations!

With that being said, if you are in a situation where you need to travel asap, you can try to reach out to the consulate in an email and explain your case. Frankfurt is operating at extremely reduced capacity (no lines out front, no one inside the consulate). If you can wait a few more weeks, I’d suggest to do so but if you’re in a real bind you can give it a try and reach out to them.

    Hope this helps!

I am sorry you are experiencing all this. Please be aware it may take upto 8 weeks before NVC responds to your email . We would usually get a response back within 6-7 weeks.
Another issue that is quite possible here is the e-mail server has blacklisted NVC email and is dropping all incoming e-mails so you are not even getting spam.

Since you are DQ-ed, and awaiting interview scheduling, make sure you check your CEAC status regularly, when it says in transit or ready you may call either NVC or the Embassy explain the issue and ask to get an interview date e-mail. it would not hurt to have alternative e-mail address for this purpose.
    Hope this helps
    Good luck

I thought I would make a thread for Germans or applicants whose application is destined for Frankfurt embassy Germany or who have their CASE COMPLETE at NVC and are waiting for an Interview to be scheduled at the US Consulate in Frankfurt!

It might make it easy for us to keep in touch and update each other!
Both German language and English language is allowed on this thread.
Start with stating where you case file is now presently.

PTA petitioner reacted to Lil bear in Is this NVC rejection or just a note?
It means that NVC has identified that your financial support documents may not meet the $$ requirements but that the interviewing officer will make the decision. If all other documents are in order NVC  will advise completion and forward to the consulate. There are many reasons why the AOS gets flagged at the NVC ... usually the best advice is to get a joint sponsor in place and all the documentation for that in the hands of the beneficiary, so they are ready to present these at the interview if needed.

Yes, my friend get started on those paperwork..and the 2020 tax return and the tax return transcripts from IRS...and their W-2's blah..blah.. (you know I am tired of paperwork at this point with NVC)..LOL..

It will take your mind/spouse mind off the I-130. (i hope so).you will be surprised how much paperwork is involved and the precision of scanning those paperwork involved with NVC.

For the payment I am unable to open the page on  the department of state payment section. Is there something I am doing wrong? They sent me an email and it is not working when I click on the link.

i had no luck during my USCIS with the messaging system. I was given a whole lot more info in the call. No generic answers at all.

THANKS! I will start right away, that’s a good idea. Really worrying about why my I-130 hasn’t been looked at (or appears not to have been anyway) but prepping documents is a good idea so I can send them AS SOON as NVC allows me and payment clears, etc. (Maybe by April? Ugh 😕) Thanks for your suggestion!!!

I think you should contact USCIS  through inboxing them through your portal to check on what/where is your application? I had no luck with calling them because they wouldn't pick up the phone..or it was a long wait or they gave me a generic answer...

On the other note (to get your mind off things)- I can suggest you start getting paperwork ready for the next stage, which is NVC. Most people underestimate the next process, I know I did because I sat and worried about when will I get the USCIS acceptance (talking only through my experience).

Some things I had trouble finding (took me longer than usual to gather paperwork for myself and my joint sponsor)...Examples: tax returns, tax return transcripts from IRS, making sure you have enough income to sponsor the beneficiary, (if not finding another joint sponsor and on top of that gathering their paperwork),,,6 months pay stubs, photographs...you name it..US DOMICILE PROOF...phewww..

Remember, NVC is a big step too...there is something calling DQ after you submit all the above and whatever documents they ask of you...if you start reading up/researching on the required documents now through the forums and groups..you maybe in the BEST position than most people to send of your documents once you get the NVC acceptance letter.

I got my acceptance in the beginning of November..I still haven't been documentarily qualified by NVC. Even though part of the problem was NVC's, the other part was solely me to blame because I could have done other things to be prepared in terms of documents. Just my experience..I wish someone had told me about this .I hope it helps..I wish you all the best. Prayers...

Try to call them and see what they say. I called and they said they were very close to making a final decision. Turns out it had already been approved. My sister applied in March and she is still waiting. So sometimes I believe certain officers get through their caseloads faster than others. Since you mailed yours the processing may run at a different pace as well. Just trying to call them and get a status update. Mine did change to case under active review the same day they approved it. The notice came a day later and I just got my hard copy yesterday. They sent it to Department of State on Christmas.

Hi to all, I hope you’re all having a nice holiday season. Jumping on this thread to ask for some advice...

I-130 sent out by snail mail on 8/1/20
    NOA 8/19/20

I keep seeing people saying that their cases have been “touched” and even some August filers who have been accepted already (congrats, guys!)

should I be worried? I am remaining optimistic for the most part as I know it could take until springtime to have my I-130 accepted, but as it has not even been “touched” since 8/19/20, does anybody have any advice? I know this is normal processing time so I’m not THAT worried, just a little disheartening to hear all my fellow August filers being processed and it looks as though mine isn’t yet 😕 (although I am very happy for all of you and I hope everyone’s case goes as smoothly as possible!)

    thanks for reading or replying!
