Good morning everyone Just throwing my update out there. We had our biometrics taken on August 6th. Both the I-765, and the I-485 were updated to " Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken on the 8th. When i woke up this morning the status for my I-485 was changed to Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview! I'm curious to see what happens next or how long it will take to get an interview, or if i get the combo card before hand.

OMG FINALLY
Had a tier 2 agent call us back. Begged to be rescheduled. Brought up court case where special dispensation was made. Says there's nothing he can do. Then he says wait a minute...
You just got scheduled for 8/24.
FINALLY.
I still hope USCIS gets sued (haha yeah right) to hell for putting people out of work for months. This is the worst government agency i've ever dealt with and that includes the IRS and Code Enforcement.
Now I wonder how long from when we have appointment to card in hand. We have a wedding in Mexico ...

I remember I was gonna go do a walking on the 17th because I was worried about how the covid situation was gonna develop. But I had a cut on my thumb and figured I'd let it heal another day, surely they wouldn't close down the next day, in the middle of the week, right?
Well, obviously I was wrong and was so mad at myself for months. I kept getting more and more frustrated and stressed out until they set a date of reopening. I figured I'd get in within the first 2 weeks, so no stress, it'll all get figured out soon. Well, guess I was wrong again.
Next time hopefully I'll learn not to get my hopes up too much. There's nothing worse than the feeling after the teeny bit of faith you have left is being crushed again.

interesting things happening... I posted earlier today that I did biometrics in the morning for AOS+EAD, and then got "new card ordered" update for EAD within 45 minutes of biometrics completion. Then same update for my wife followed in 30 minutes.
Then in the evening, I got massive update for all my AOS and EAD cases (myself, wife, daughter) for "fingerprints applied to your case". While this mass update was definitely automatic, potentially after FBI submitted fingerprint check reports (my friend got this update in the middle of the night EST), the earlier updates feel like they were human-initiated. To me it means that it makes sense to give them a push if you have new biometrics, previously approved EAD, and your status doesn't update from those automatic "fingerprints applied"

Thanks this seems to be the definition
Code 1 is for fingerprinting of all 10 fingers. This is electronically sent to FBI the same day, they run it to match thru their database to match it with criminals/persons of interest and send the results the same day (or the next) to USCIS. Code 1 is very important as it is part of your security/background check and determines admissibility for GC. Code 1 expires after 15 months e.g. FBI needs to check their database again.
Code 2 (right index finger only+photo+sign) is for the generation of cards for immigration benefits e.g. EAD, GC etc. If you filed for EAD, you definitely need code 2 or the card can not be generated. Code 2 is done everytime we apply for a benefit.
Code 3 (fingerprinting all 10 fingers+photo+sign) is a combination of both, when USCIS wants to get a security check done on you as well as generate card.

i think it depends on which service centers are processing. California is old lazy bum while Nebraska, Texas and Vermont are scheduling faster. i think the issue is WAC petitions and those in Jan/Feb are stuck

Just AOS + EAD, but this is code 3. If you get code 2 then you're guaranteed to go in there again for code 3, and it may come in whatever order. If you get code 3 invite first, second one may not happen

Good News:
I called USCIS this morning and ask to speak to a tire 2 officer, after 2 hours tire 2 officer call me back and help me scheduled a biometric appointment on 8/17. I received the appointment notice through my email 20 minutes later.
My RD is 02/18 original appointment is 03/20(canceled), local ASC open on 7/13 , I-765 approved in July, I have been waiting on the reschedule notice for very long time. I told him I have a job offer I really need the card.
I am so shock this actually works, I feel lucky enough to have a really nice Tire 2 officer, anyone in the same situation can have try !!! If you want to speak to a Tire 2 call very early, afternoon they will say they are not available anymore. He also confirmed that they need the biometric to print the card

Some teir 1 are actually pretty decent. I know we bash them alot, but they also are probably doing the best job they can. we called one yesterday who was literally rude and reading off a scripted response. we called again about an hour later and we got a lady from the south, super nice. she offered to put in a service request as to when we can get rescheduled for biometrics. she also offered up information that we can call a tier 2 and have them see what they can find out. I KNOOOOOW all this information is the same old run around, but there are some who want to help and you can tell.

My I-765 got approved last Thursday and I called USCIS today asked about biometric appointment, my biometric was scheduled on March 20th but canceled due to COVID 19. Never received the reschedule notice. The USCIS representative told me they already bypass the biometric too, he said they recently has an internal notice to bypass the biometric if they can. Hopefully it is true and we can get the EAD card soon
