Too add to the good news - South Africa is starting to schedule CR1/IR1 now. Looks like they are doing expedites first, but its one more country opening up    

Thank you so much for posting this. I had been checking it everyday but thought they might not upload it. It makes me feel better to see them working on interviews in June but I am curious to know how many were expedited or not but hey at least they were doing interviews thats a great step in the right direction 😊

The only thing a mandamus writ does as far as i know is force a decision, which would be a denial right now because of the ban. There was an AILA class action lawsuit filed yesterday against the proclamation.

I am feeling overwhelmed by the odds against us in Lagos. Is there anyone here who has recently been issued a marriage or K-1 visa and would be willing to tell me about it? What can we do to increase our odds? Coronavirus isn’t helping.. but I am looking for a foothold amongst so much uncertainty.

I really do not know why People keep asking same question "When are the Consulates re-opening" etc.  
Truth is,  even these men and women who happen to be  Immigration lawyers and expects,  they too do not know when the Consulates are gonna reopen!
They don't have no idea, they're only doing all what they can to keep us all updated!  People need to get that clear.
 
  I know it's sad and really frustrating though.  I have my  own case currently  stuck at the Consulate Level since April 22nd 2020 awaiting interview at Lagos, Nigeria  Consulate...
 I can't help but just chill and wait even though it breaks my heart...   
I advice we all keep all hopes alive and have more patience,  because as it stands now; it's only gonna take God's special grace for this whole immigration brouhaha to be a thing of the past!  
PATIENCE the key word...! 

We will all prevail and reunite with our loved ones soon by God's grace..   I send my love to everyone out there, waiting and also  wish everyone waiting on the Embassies and Consulate to open up again Good luck. And don't forget,  STAY SAFE...!!!

I apologize to everyone for posting this. I listened to this video so many times. Smh...Maybe because of the excitement and the title. I am so sorry. I would never play a joke like this. This is my life. I just want to be with my husband. 😢
 

I know right, also had a chat with someone who knows what's going on in the government circle, in his words "The ban will be lifted in 6 months or less, it will be reversed " but like you said, i don't know why i find it hard to believe them. I wish we can create a WhatsApp group or something, we need eachother.. lol..  it's just tiring thinking about how everything will play out... immediate families were supposed to be exempted from this ban.. so unfair... anyway.. i am being positive. Best of luck to us all. 

Has anyone spoken to NVC since the announcement about how the ban impacts cases? I was thinking nvc would update their website with some FAQS. I had a chat with one of the advisers in the nigeria presidency today. He said govt is seriously working with US to resolve the issue and we should be hopeful but i always find it difficult to believe people in govt. 

Thank you all for your responses! It's a long shot but definitely worth a try. I will write an email to the embassy to see if the interview date can be expedited.
 
 

I, myself ,  have been through the system (K1 denied ) and the CR1 (denied ) and finally IR1 approved so i am preparing my own letter and info about legal and illegal immigration and some of the things which are big issues (in only my opinion) and will send it when complete to my Senator and House Rep and vote in the November elections for the best person that will work to really change things

I feel the same. This has had a huge psychological impact on both my husband and myself.  I need knee surgery badly but was trying to hold off so as to have my husband here to take care of me. Neither of us has been sleeping, both suffering from headaches, and deprsssion. I can't  eat, I am losing weight by diabetes is getting out of control, heart palpitations and the list goes on. Going to see a psychiatrist as this is truly taking a toll. When you get married, you just want to begin your life as a happily married couple and this is anything but that. We both pray that we will one day get to have our happy beginning and we wish that for everyone here. GOD BLESS!🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hi everyone, trying to get some clarifications on the implications of the recent immigration ban on some countries.
Last month, the US government announced immigration ban on some countries, including my home country where my wife is right now. The new policy as announced, will take effect from the 21st of this month. All my required documents have been accepted at NVC and moved to the US consulate , waiting for interview appointment.
My questions are; Is this ban for new filers or will if affect everyone that has not gone fore interview before the effective date of 21/02/20?
Will the new ban affect cases that are already processing or those already completed by the NVC.?
Will it affect cases that have been sent to the country's US consulate and are awaiting interview date?

I wonder what will happen with this travel ban again Nigeria. My petition for relative I-130 was approved December 23rd but USCIS haven't sent my approval notice to NVC yet, I am just wondering if that's normal or its due to the travel ban that will become effective this month. Is anyone else in the similar situation? I just need a little bit of hope at this point.

There is a travel ban support group thread you can read to get a better understanding but from what  I read a visa can still be obtained it will just take longer. Initially they will receive a denial at the interview due to the ban but as long as the applicant is able to clear additional background checks there is a possibility of obtaining a visa. They also said the waiver process is more automated now so more visas have been issued recently. I am sure if I’m not correct someone will jump in and clarify. Don’t worry or stress too much remain positive. Keep yourself informed. There is a wealth of knowledge of this forum.
