ok, I think that is what I am going to do. thank you.
However, I was just on the website and I cannot locate the actual calendar, do you mind sharing the steps to this calendar please. Sorry to be a nag, I just want to be sure that I am not making a mistake. Thank you again for responding to me once more. It means a lot.
You gotta log in first. Click on the option at the top that says schedule/ book an interview and the calendar will pop up.

Hello Chrissyb455, thank you so much for your response. I do appreciate it.
we already created an account at that website. Should I re-book the interview again ?
FYI: our interview was cancelled in September and was told to look out for another interview date from the embassy, but I was wondering if we can actually book one for ourselves and then I saw your post.
If there’s dates available on the calendar I say go for it! That’s exactly what we did.
just email the embassy after to make sure they’re aware.

Hello ,
My fiancé went for her k1 visa appointment yesterday. She was approved however due to the medical expiring and the one month extension they to request the extension. She was informed she will have to leave her country by 17th of Oct. That they would work on getting it done and the visa returned to her . In addition I had to support a new affidavit of support, which was done within an hour after her interview and emailed to them . My concern is they won’t have it done in time and I don’t want to panic or hound them . my fiancé says don’t worry they know the date she needs to leave and it will be fine . I don’t want to push the issue with her . But we didn’t book the flight and I worry they will drag there feet returning her passport/visa to her .
Any advice ?I would suggest you also change your profile name on this site, it’s not wise to use your full and correct name for a username

My fiancé and I got lucky last week and was able to book 1 of the very few open available dates for k1 visa interviews in Jamaica. We emailed the embassy to make sure it was real and they said they opened a few dates and to book one expeditiously and so we did! September 28,2020.
visa status on temporary refusal as they are awaiting 1 missing document from us!
So don’t give up guys, your time is coming too ❤️

If the US sponsor has Covid-19, do we qualify for an emergency interview?
or is this grounds to be considered for an emergency interview?

sorry but i see family of USC can enter but K1 is not family
and yes, they are processing the applications but will you get a visa to come under the EO????
Well the email stated that once the routine service suspension ends, they’ll start rescheduling k1s that were cancelled in March.
The routine suspension has nothing to do the presidents ban so im clinging to the positive. Jamaica’s Embassy also just resumed US citizen services so we’re headed on the right path 👌🏼

Sec. 3. Scope of Suspension and Limitation on Entry. (a) The suspension and limitation on entry pursuant to section 2 of this proclamation shall apply only to any alien who:
(i) is outside the United States on the effective date of this proclamation;
(ii) does not have a nonimmigrant visa that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation; and
(b) The suspension and limitation on entry pursuant to section 2 of this proclamation shall not apply to:
(i) any lawful permanent resident of the United States;
(ii) any alien who is the spouse or child, as defined in section 101(b)(1) of the INA (8 U.S.C. 1101(b)(1)), of a United States citizen;
(iii) any alien seeking to enter the United States to provide temporary labor or services essential to the United States food supply chain; and
(iv) any alien whose entry would be in the national interest as determined by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or their respective designees.
So, i take it applications will continue to be processed but K1 will have to wait to come into the USA until the above is terminated
A fiancee is not a family member and section 3 II says the EO applys to anyone that does not have a nonimmigrant visa on the effective date . k1 is nonimmigrant
1. You obviously ignored a whole section of the proclamation and chose to acknowledge this part and;
2. As long as the Embassy is going to facilitate our interviews, your interpretation of the proclamation is inconsequential.

Hey guys. I know that all of the K1 family has been stressed beyond a doubt during this difficult time with covid and the presidential proclamation now extended. So good news for k1 visas is we are NOT apart of the ban/suspension and our interviews will be resume once the Embassy reopens. My wonderful wife to be emailed them and got this response (other persons got a similar response too so it’s not just us 😁😁😁). This should bring much needed relief to everyone.

They have the in person appointments suspended to June 4th for now. They will resume it as our country starts to reopen. I hardly think it would last another 5 years. But they can't ban people who's family is trying to come here, they may delay the process, but they won't ban them.
What country?

@fluffykim never mind I just saw that it’s k1
thank you for your input 🙂
We’ll just have to wait and see 🤞🏼

it should be, but my experience was not that it was not that easy in Kingston (same embassy Poster is going to). They can ask any data point from any piece of paper that is submitted. They asked me where in Jamaica (almost like directions) where spots of our pictures were taken, they asked my now husband dates of my college degrees, etc. It was quite nerve wracking to be honest but we passed and i am just trying to give good advice.
its just not a bad idea to be prepared, and every embassy is different. Good luck...just waiting for our green card nowWas your interview for the k1 visa or cr1?
They must have been suspicious to go so in-depth.
-
It seems to me like we’ll have to get an immigration lawyer involved to clear up this confusion and to determine what will happen once the Embassy reopens.

The man who has the gold makes the rules.
@Greenbaum Are you suggesting that the embassy will determine if we’re exempted or not?
Do you have any suggestion on how to proceed?
-
I am broken-hearted right now...
I emailed my local US Embassy asking for clarification regarding the K1 visa and the ban president trump enforced..
they replied with the following:
K1 visas are not exempted from the Presidential Proclamation and therefore can not be processed or issued until such time as the proclamation and any further extensions are expired.
We do not currently know when the Consular Section will be able to resume providing routine services. Please refer to our website for updated information.
However, we will contact you to reschedule your K1 appointment once we are able to do so and once allowed under the Presidential Proclamation.
Sincerely,
Immigrant Visa Unit

Thank you. Does this replace a divorce decree?? We've already got that.
No it doesn’t. You need them both for the interview.

What is a "certificate of non-impediment"?? This the first time I've heard this term...
It’s basically a certificate presented to the petitioner by the government after they do a general check to make sure he/she isn’t currently in a marriage.. he’ll have to visit the Registrar General’s office in the town he resides and apply for it there. It’ll take around 5-10 days to be ready.

Knowing that the Embassy is closed until further notice, is there anything should be doing to prepare my fiancé for his K1 interview? Our NVC status is "ready" since April 6, but he has not received his P3 packet, nor have I been sent anything - it's just like dead air!
I completed the DS160 - is there anything else I need to or can do in the meantime? This "stuck in limbo" is for the birds!
He is going to need a certificate of non-impediment from the RDG office. Costs about $8000 jmd. He also needs to schedule his medical examination at the Andrews memorial hospital in Kingston.

All visa appointments has been cancelled until further notice. I received an email from them Friday night

Honestly I’m not worried about that part. Mostly because I’ll probably be interviewed by people who’re trained to not be impartial (heck they flew the pride glag at our embassy when it was legalized in the US) and secondly because from most reviews I’ve read by gay couples, their interview was treated with more discretion (private office interview for sensitive questions) but regardless I know our case is pretty strong and we have lots of evidence to prove it.
all I’m a lil worried about is my interview is at the end of this month (March 2020) and the embassy has suspended their service until further notice- so it’s a bit rattling right now.
-
@Thegirl I would love to hear why you think it will be harder for us to get a k1 in Jamaica.. is it because we’re gay? Or something else?
-
Thank you @GreenbaumI went to the office and filled it out correctly. The bride and groom section only applies to someone who’s been married before. So all I had to put was my personal info.
Also I’m in Jamaica so I’m not sure why you made mention to Haiti.
I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
I recently entered the us on my k1 visa and will be getting married in a few days. We want to get started on the AOS application right away.
my question is do I need to complete another medical exam to send with our application, and do I need to fill out the I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record?
