  1. Hi. I want to add some thoughts

1 ) k1 can take from 1,5 -to2,5 years waiting now because of vivid

    2) when you are here you can apply aos and get EAD to work quickly

Our case took 2 years from filling till visa in hand andv7 months for green card U didn't get EAD just GC right away because as officer said our case is easy.

We were in California center to I

If I were you I would not switch because most people after covid started applied to cr1, second reason it will take time to get approved that you spent already with k1 route. It's up to you. You should study cases in your country it can be vary from Europe backlog and vice versa. It's a little hard to wait here for GC but there's always something to do here) wish you find way better for you. The only thing keep in mind this process is never quick or easier especially now.

Differences explained on the following site for EB1 , EB2 and EB3

    https://www.immi-usa.com/eb-1-vs-eb-2/#EB1_vs_EB2_vs_EB3

An EB-1 visa is the first preference category for applicants who are leaders in the fields of science, art, education, business, or athletics. There are three subcategories in the EB-1:

    • EB-3A: This is for “skilled workers” – individuals who have a job that requires a minimum of two years of training or work experience and not temporary or seasonal.
    • EB-3B: This is for “professionals” – individuals who have a job that requires a minimum of at least a U.S. baccalaureate degree or a foreign equivalent and are a member of the professions.
    • EB-3C: This is for “other workers” – individuals who perform unskilled labor requiring less than two years of training or experience and not temporary or seasonal.

Thank you so much!  I will learn it

    Congratulations!

How did you find the job?

Did you go through Indeed or another job search engine or did you apply direct to companies?

Would be interested to know for my future job search ^^

I went to indeed first, then the place next to my house they have their own website where you need to upload your CV and then they called me and invited to the interview which was successful. Though I work not right there in another store but still first what I did I wrote CV included all experience even not related to applied vacancy. Second I went to all places next to my house because I can't drive. And then I found this place. Indeed is a very good place to search too. I went to some places from that site too. The thing is just keep trying and intend to work physically first because good places when first in the country not easy to find if only you have not got a rare profession. Good luck!

  4. Did you mention that you have a friend in the USA  on 160 DS?

It's important how he behaves during interview.

The most important to show ties but it's also not a quarantee to be approved it's all up to CO, percentage of approvals and denials I heard they have a particular number of approvals a day not sure about it

I was denied a tourist visa due to absence of ties to home country

Some people are rejected even if they have houses, family and cars. In this case it's only up to CO

Try again but he should to have something changed in this time to show he will come back home and won't stay in the USA

I work quite closely with one of our organization's HR dept.  Within that department, there are company recruiters.  We are an organization of around 95K people, so there are various people recruiting for dept types of jobs.

Before I returned to the US, I was working overseas for a little more than 25 years.  The jobs I held in various countries overseas dominated my resume.  In fact, to any recruiter, I would look like I was not even authorized to work in the US, even though I was a citizen.  However, at the top of my resume, after where you have your name, address, and contact details, I put one bullet point, highlighted that stated I was a US citizen.  The recruiter who hired me where I work now, told me months later that they were passing over my resume, until they saw that I was a US citizen.

My suggestion is you should do something similar, but put something like "US Permanent Resident, authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship."  Something like that.  The HR managers etc who I work with have told me that they constantly get people applying for positions who either hide or lie that they dont need company sponsorship to work in the US and its a tremendous waste of time for them.  In fact, if any of our recruiters, etc feel a person needs immigration sponsorship, etc, they just pass over the resume.  Since your resume will likely only contain places of work overseas, this may help increase the number of interviews you do get, plus eliminate any misunderstandings along the way.

It's really helpful, thanks a lot!

Hello, the fastest way to get a job is to type Temporary agencies near me.  Upload your resume to their site. They make money by finding you a job.(it's a free service for you)

Most assignments might be 3 to 6 months but they will normally hire you as permanent when the assignment is ending.

When the assignment ends, they will find you another job.

You might also try the school district near you and apply as Teachers assistant.

I suggest you have a computer most better paying jobs are "work from home now." Just Google "work from home jobs"

😊apply for customer service, administration, call center jobs

With your teaching experience you can teach people to speak English language online and set your own schedule. You can teach people that speak your native language to speak English if you like. No experience for most.

    3. DaDa
    4. QKids
    5. iTutorGroup

You can also start off at Walmart, or Target store.

Best wishes. You will do just fine 🙂

Thank you for such a thorough answer with a set of suggestions!

Also look into your rights, what at-will employment is (a lot of places are) and what is illegal for an employer to ask in an interview!

    Good idea! Thanks

Even if you do not have a driver's license, get a state ID to fill your i-9.  Unrestricted SSN + State ID is going to save you trouble.

You can also google "your state name" + career center - most states offer help to find a job/recruit employees.   Your profile says NJ, so here it is: https://www.nj.gov/nj/employ/seekers/

Also, many places are very eager to get employees right now, it is possible to get more than minimum wage, even for some retail jobs.  You are worth it!

    Thanks a lot!

Are you interested in teaching? You could always get a teaching certification!

I heard it will take time to adjust my university degree to American and after 9 years of experience of teaching I feel like I just want to do something different, online also not an option due to vision troubles

The best way to get a job in this country is through someone you know who works there.  Except for my first job (which was the hardest to get), every job was because someone I knew there worked there.

    So priorities for your attention:

    1. apply for jobs at places where you know someone. That person should be willing to place your resume literally in front of the eyes of the hiring manager.

    2. apply for jobs at places with a sign in the window that says help wanted and apply inside.

    3. apply for jobs at places that list a phone number to call.

    4. apply for jobs that where you upload your resume to a website owned by the hiring company.  A waste of time in my opinion but if you have nothing better to do, you might as well

    5. Like 4 but you upload your resume to a website that is not owned by a hiring company (such as Indeed)

I estimate that for options 4 and 5 fewer than 1 in 100 job applications produce an interview     Probably more like fewer than 1 in 10,000.

Web sites like Indeed and Monster are good for employers and not good for people who want jobs.  Most likely you will just end up with a lifetime of spam email.  If you do option 4 or 5 do it with a throw away email address.

    Thank you ! It's very useful?👍🔥

“Indeed” website, LinkedIn if you have a profile … .. ask around..local businesses advertising .. really depends in what you are looking for

I was an English teacher at home, so here I can work as a shop assistant or a receptionist at a hotel, anything, just need some tips on how you do it here

    Thanks for response

  11. Here I am! Dear friends, could anybody share experience on how and where to start looking for a work. I am about to get my SSN and I just received GC. I don't have driving licence and I am not sure if I will drive. Any advices on job website or tips are highly appreciated!🙌🙏

  12. This person is probably has issues and this was just the last drop of patience anyway all can have bad and good days! My opinion people are lazy to dig into info, read official website sites, they just come and ask for help. There's info which everyone needs to read before starting any visa process, there are also situations when you need someone's advice based on experience that is different question. And finally when we started K1 process we read all sources of info, watched videos on YouTube, read here all guides, asked attorney, because first of all this only you who needs it firstly, you are interested in success and people here are really helping! So go and learn, then come and ask if anything is not clear
