A quick update. Our visas have been issued yesterday and we received tracking confirmation from Canada post. We had interview on 3rd May. 
We had medical exam with Dr Ian Z. On 26th Apr and our results were on time. Their turn around time is a week.

My interview is on the 26th.  I'm more than a little bummed to hear of these new restrictions today, I am in ontario and will be driving to my appointment, going early is not a option for me, as I have kids and work to still attend.    I had my medical done Monday and have had nothing but hassles all week trying to get my daughter's immunization (didn't get the hep B before the medical, my own stupid fault for not double checking the lists)  my family doctor couldn't understand and comprehend that we needed to give it to her 7 years early because of immigration 🤦.  Regardless, it's done and the doctor sent the medical results to the consulate!
Interestingly enough on the ontario covid-19 website https://covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions they link to the april 7th emergency order that I am sure will be updated soon with today's announcement, but maybe not as it's just extended.  But the wording in that PDF clearly states that travel to "Obtaining government services, social services and supports, mental health support
services or addictions support services.". Also says "Attending an appointment at a business or place that is permitted to be open by
appointment only."  Is a valid reason to travel.   And also reading the info here.....https://www.ontario.ca/page/emergency-information it seems the order really only cares about your reentry to ontario, not your exit. I will be carrying copies of these documents with me when I travel. 
Hopefully that info can put some of your minds at ease, but I am still on edge and super curious to see if anyone has any troubles attending the interviews this week.

I looked into this months ago for the Sydney consulate (but of course things change fast during the pandemic) and at the time consulates were not accepting transfers. If they have resumed transfers then yes you are allowed as a citizen. It can take a few months to process, but depending on where you are in line that may be worth it. Can't hurt to reach out!

My husband has his interview on Monday. He is in Montreal right now. But when he travels back home to Ontario, he'll ask an officer for you guys if travelling to Quebec for a government visa interview is allowed!

Option 1 appears to be what you want to select unless you are doing a k visa which option 2 looks like 

Hmm, I guess this does make sense, especially since the number of COVID cases have been higher than ever. Really praying that there will be no cancellations from their end though....

Got an apology letter from the consulate this morning for issuing the wrong visa class (Cr-1 instead of IR-1). They were able to update my digital vis package so the CBP agents should be able to issue the correct class! Crossing on Friday, fingers crossed.

I had my medical in Montreal and they did require I believe 5 U.S.-sized passport photos. They also took my photo there as well... Idk why they make you bring them when they take it anyway, but it is what it is!

My exam was on March 29 and my interview on April 7th. Dr. Lee Randall (Toronto) managed to send the Medical on April 5th. If you have all the vaccines completed and have proof of certain microbiotics reactive in your blood (as proof of prior vaccination) it is not impossible to be sent in 1 week.
