Hey guys, a quick up date. So I had the impression that after you cross the border you just wait for your SSN and green card and within 2 weeks you should get them. Well after 4 weeks I did not get anything and of course I was not able to do anything in USA without these 2 cards. Finally I read on here that people have been going to the SS office and apply for their SSN. So I called and they told me to wait it will take time since it is a new card I am getting. The truth is if the border officers did not apply for you , you will not get it and you will be waiting for nothing. They do apply for your green card but looks like the SSN is it separat from the green card and they might not apply for you . So my suggestion is that you ask the border office when you cross if they applied for you for the SSN. The officer told me I will get smething in th mail he did not specifically said which one the green card or the SSN but I knew something was coming and was expecting that both will come. So if you have waited 2 weeks and got nothing chances are you need to locate your local SS office and make an appointment and apply for your SSN. That is exactly what I did after waiting for 5 weeks but you can get on it faster after 2 weeks or just get your answer form the border officer and apply as soon as you get into USA. So got my SSN 4 days after I applied and got the green card 6 weeks after I crossed the border.

Hi all - quick update on green card timeline for CR1.

I crossed border on April 30th 2021. I just received my green card today - 119 days. I had received my SSN within 10 days of crossing the border.

    Hello everyone,
Here is my update of crossing the border with my IR1-VISA and importing my HYUNDAI car.
There is a lot of confusion about importing a Canadian car. So here it goes, this is what you need.
You need to install the TPMS on your car. A certified mechanic has to do it and give you a receipt,
or you can install it yourself since it is very easy and if you are handy man and know what you are doing
you can easily do it yourself then take the car to a certified mechanic to inspect it and give you a receipt for it.
Bring with you that receipt and the receipt of your TPMS I bought mine from AMAZON.
You need the letter from the manufacturer, most letters will say your car is compliant with the US regulations but
it does not have the TPMS and that's why you have to install it. Make sure your car is also compliant with the EPA
regulations as well, it will say in the manufacturer letter  and also on the inside of your hood.
So that is what you need, then you have to download the 2 forms from the internet. The declaration form and the
EPA form. Fill them out and you should be good. When you cross with your VISA tell them you want to import the
car. They will ask if you have the paper work and you will give them all that I have told you. My process at the border
went really fast because I had all the papers filled out. I had to go inside and fill out one more form and that was it.
They did not charge me duty. They did take my car key and inspected the car.
They gave me the paper work I have to take to the DMV and stamped my passport.
I know this process can be very stressful and confusing if you have any questions send me a PM or ask me here.
Now about the border. It was very quiet, just 3-4 cars in front of me It went very fast. As they sent me inside to process
papers, just one other couple was there, and then more people came after. It took about 30 minutes for them to process
my car papers. If I was not importing my car I would not have to go inside and it would have been just at the booth
process.  I said I am being sponsored, and he saw the VISA he asked who sponsored me and what does he do.
Then off to the usually questions what are you bringing in and so on. You need to wear a mask while at the booth talking to them.
The whole process was easy, if you have the right paper work for the car you are good , nothing to worry about.

You do not need to submit a new I-864 for the changes, you can let them know at the interview. For the joint sponsor who is married, you do need to have the I-864A as long as he is filing taxes joint with his wife. Here is a video that will help you.

    My vaccine
My vaccine waiver for allowance to not be vaccinated based on religious beliefs. I am a Christian, so I explained my belief in the Word of God and how vaccines violate that. I did get help in wording my letter from someone on here, so I want to thank army14 very much. I did not mention that I was a part of a congregation, as the congregation does not believe as me. So you can  stand on your own belief and do not need to be attending a church or congregation.
I think same goes for the ones who would stand on their conscience belief and not religious. The waiver was for my son as well, who has not had any vaccines in his entire life. I think what really makes a difference if you are going to get approved or not is to be able to prove that you have not had vaccines in the past and this is your lifestyle and belief. You need to prove to them that you did not just decide to use a waiver to get away from the vaccines now. So I had 3 waivers I have used in the past for my work place dating 2015, 2017 and 2 for my son for school dating 2011 and 2015. These waivers were very important to prove my case to them. Also, you will need a letter from your doctor stating that you do not take vaccines. The doctor where you go for your medical here in Canada will require you to bring a letter from your doctor instead of proof of vaccination. I also had a letter from my husband and a friend saying they know me for this amount of time, and they have seen my actions and decisions in life were always based on the Word of God. But bottom line if you do not have some concrete proof like waivers from the past you have used it is more difficult to prove your belief and all you have is letters from people they know you and doctor letter, which are still good. I know not all work places require vaccination, I just happen to work at a place that did require, and my son did require it for school.

Hello everyone,
Just an update on my vaccine waiver. It was approved in a matter of 1 month, so I am completing my visa by mail.
If you are planning to use such waiver you need to use the form I-601 and you need past waivers you have used as
proof. Also letters from family and friends confirming your convictions. Nice to see they are still approved!!!!
