ADKaur got a reaction from Vijayg in F2A category - Montreal interview pending
I had my interview at Montreal Consulate yesterday, The visa is approved.
The whole process was smooth but I was super stressed during the whole process.
I went 45 minutes early and the security guard let me in.
I only had the documents, wallet and my cellphone with me. They kept my cellphone in the locker.
I went upstairs, and waited for my turn,
At 1st counter, they asked for Photograph, passport , Original Birth certificate, Police certificates and tax documents of the petitioner (I gave only 2021 W2, 1099 and Tax transcript)
Then the lady asked my to wait
Then after 20 minutes some another lady called me to a different counter,
She asked me to take a small oath that whatever I say will be true
Questions asked:
- who is your petitioner?
-What he/she does?
- Address of petitioner
- My job
- My travel history
- When did I meet the petitioner the last time?
- If I had any past visa details
And then she said my visa is approved.

@NGJ
My DS-260 was not expired, I did not have to resubmit that
I did resubmit the latest I-864 and I-864A, also the Tax documents
I took the printout copies of tax documents with me to the interview.

You can see this link as reference https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/MTL - Montreal.pdf.
Please also be advised this documents is expired but it’s not a bad idea to take it as a reference.
I’m gathering my docs based on this but adding few more stuff, like COVID-19 vaccination record.

I hope this is good news. Montreal is now current with visas for spouses of US citizens, as of last month, so perhaps this creates more interview slots to now focus on us F visa groups.

Also let's hope that they continue to process 550-600 visas every month so that they run out of IR/CR and K1 inventory and start to focus on F and E category. Here is the statistics for last 12 months of visa issuance.

Hello everyone in this thread:
I don't know if this help but maybe my information give you some perspective.
Our case is F3 (Married children +21 of US citizen). Our case became Documentarily Qualified on February 2019 and we attended to our interview on Nov. 2019. That means it took us 9 months to attend to the interview...in a pre-COVID time. This is the only Consulate processing immigrant visas in Canada and that includes spouse and children, Fiance visas (K1), which I presume, they are many, so it takes times... and a lot of patience
We got a refusal letter and we were asked to re-submit updated financial information (Affidavits, Tax forms, etc.). We submitted this information on February 2020 and heard nothing back. Then in Mar 10 we wrote to the consulate and got back on Mar 13 saying our case was lining up for review. Then the COVID happened, the consulate closed, then proclamation 10014 came, and well, you all know the story. Now despite 10014 was rescinded, it seems the Consulate in not processing all types of visas. We wrote to the consulate last week and got an auto-reply from the consulate that said:
The United States Consulate General in Montreal has resumed certain immigrant visa services, including spouses and children of U.S. citizens, K-1 fiancé(e) visa applicants, and other categories such as medical professionals. All other immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services remain restricted to emergency appointments. While the Consulate General aims to process cases as soon as practicable, wait times will continue to be lengthy due to the ongoing pangdemic.
The U.S. Consulate General in Montreal may be able to provide emergency immigrant visa services for categories other than those identified above. Expedited processing is only approved in the most urgent mission critical cases. You may e-mail us with your request for an expedited appointment if you believe your case qualifies.
Thank you for your understanding, and please continue to monitor the website of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Canada for updated information: https://ca.usembassy.gov/
Based on what I've read, our case do not qualify for an expedite processing, but I'm consulting with a lawyer to see if there is anything we can do. I presume that when our case get reviewed again by a consular officer, they will ask for updated financial documentation (again), updated medicals, and police records, so I don't think the issue of the visa is going to be immediate.
Just one piece of advice based on my experience: If you get scheduled for an interview, and even if they do not require extra information, bring updated and valid financial documentation (Affidavits, etc.) and police records with you, just in case.
Hope it helps and good luck.
Dan

ADKaur reacted to MovingToFlorida in Montreal immigration interview wait time link (merged topics)
I am an F3 and we already had our interview booked back in March but it was cancelled cause of covid. I know that some F visas are currently banned under the temporary immigration ban that Trump set up till the end of the year so I have no idea when our interview will be rescheduled. I haven't been given any info from the consulate.

ADKaur reacted to rmeh in Waiting time for Montreal Canada Interview
Hello:
I'm wondering if anyone here has any idea of waiting times for scheduling an immigration visa f11, adult children of US citizen. I got an email from NVC dated november 15th 2019 stating that my application was complete and the next steps was to schedule an appointment. Still haven't received any update and calling them yields no answer.
