Not sure what your problem is mate but "perpetuating something you know isn't true" is a funny way of categorizing the sharing of information received directly from the relevant local US Embassy.

Payxibka tends to be very bitter in his/ her responses. Does not take anything into consideration besides his/ her own opinion. I wouldn't entertain this individual much.

What’s the factor that is preventing them to reopen, in your opinion? This waiting game is honestly getting quite ridiculous, especially because we have no information even though we’ve been waiting for months.

Same boat with you. Petitioned in December was supposed to travel on April, which got canceled. Now there is no news litteraly when the embassies will reopen. This has been the most stressful time in my life. It is draining.

No official announcements yet but the Ph govt is allowing businesses to open by June 1st.

I think they will start to accept  USC services but not Visa interviews. (TBA)

I see. It is the same situation at the U.S. embassy in Pristina, Kosovo (Europe). June 1st restrictions are relaxing, however, the U.S. Embassy is only considering emergency appointments of any sort.

    NOA2: 4/27/2020

    NVC Case Assigned: 5/20/2020

Lol. My fiance and I are not actively checking our status because everything was on lockdown but I think Manila will open by June 1st so im back here.

(Thank god to@Greenbaum's PDF file. I was able to get my NVC case number and the date it was assigned based of it.

Now. I need to shed this quarantine fat off and also work on the next step. Bwahahahahah

So the embassy is opening in Manilla on June 1st?

Anyone can ask for their case to be expedited but must follow certain criteria. If accepted or denied neither have an impact on any other process toward a visa.

    1. For USCIS refer to https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-information/how-make-expedite-request
    2. For NVC they expedite K-1 visas already.
    3. For Embassies, an expedited request requires you to contact them either through email or a phone call. Most embassy don't grant expedited visas but only in the case of an emergency. Check with your embassy for additional details.

Chapter 5 - Requests to Expedite Applications or Petitions

Benefit requestors may request USCIS to expedite the adjudication of their applications or petitions. USCIS considers all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis and generally requires documentation to support such requests. The decision to grant or deny an expedite request is within the sole discretion of USCIS.

    From <https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-1-part-a-chapter-5>

Since my case is at the NVC level, which party should I contact to expedite my request?

  6. This is an update from the US embassy in Pristina. It states they have suspended all, but emergency appointments for all visa applications. See snapshots below.

My dad has stage four lung cancer. I am the head of the household. Would this curcumstance qualify as an immediate relatives grave illnes, under bullet point (a), or not since my father technically is not my fiancees immediate relative? The point is that It would help to have my fiancee here with us in order to help out with my dad's doctors appointments, errands, and translation needs.

If both of you were to go to the first page of this thread and the first post where you will find my tips, tricks, and hacks PDF for this stage you are in. It has answered your question there as others have asked it hence, I decided to create a PDF to address your questions, even before you ask here. If you don't understand something after reading the PDF, then post your question and I or someone else will give you clarification to address your situation.

I read it. It says to complete the DS-160 after the case number is recieved. However, things are  not ordinary at the moment. So I am wondering with everything going on can I still complete this form? If I complete it now, and my petition is stuck at the NVC will it expire?

Thanks, I’ll get the docs from them. I hope it doesn’t come back to bite me and cause her a denial. But The beneficiary (my fiance) should mark “yes’ on the DS-160 that I was arrested?

I am not sure about the DS-160, as I have not completed this step yet. I assume the DS-160 asks about the beneficiarie's background only. Not yours. I could be wrong, however.

I called the police station and court house, neither of them have records for the arrest. I never appeared in court for the arrest, I was home within two hours of the arrest.

Get a letter from both the court and police department that no record exists. Just to be prepared at the interview level.

Failing to disclose your arrest could be considered material misrepresentation by the officer. Fingers crossed they did not receive a hit on your background check, which is most likely the case since the USCIS approved your petition without an RFE.

Just again get those documents it's better to be safe than sorry.

No. Not sure that I had to since I wasn’t convicted of anything and the traffic fine was <$500

This could be a problem. The petition asks specifically if you have ever been arrested. Emphasis on 'ever.' It is in plain English.

I would prepare for it to come up during the interview. Provide all of the court and police documents to your fiance(e), along with a good explananation. Best case scenario the officer won't bring it up. Worst case scenario this will be questioned, and the visa will be denied as a result failing to disclose your arrest. I hole the odds are in your favor my friend. It is a silly thing to get denied for.

@Rob Beri do you have any updates? I just called today and got my case number but she said they are not shipping to Pristina :(

No, Pristina is still under lockdown with a few restrictions being lifted. Hopefully, by the end of this month, or early June things will ease up and embassies will reopen. That is when we should expect for our petitions to be mailed.

We called today and today’s the 6th week. So now we have to email them. 😢

Hang in there. I would suggest that you keep calling at least once a week. I received news that my petition was received last week. I am sure you will hear similar news soon.

    Hey everyone. Quick timeline share:

NOA1 - Dec 16, NOA2 - Mar 31. Case passed to NVC on May 4th. No NVC number yet. Starting to collect documents for interview.

My question will be: what documents should be required with Affidavit of support?

From what I have found online it is:

    1. Form I-134 Affidavit itself

    2. Bank statement

    3. Employee stationery with date of employment and position

Should I also provide Tax return for the last year? Is there anything else I missed?

When did you find out it went to NVC? Did you call this week?

Have you tried calling the NVC? They received our petition Monday April 27th and we are still waiting on the case number. Our NOA2 was just a few days after yours so I am sure we will be getting the case numbers soon. The guy I talked to also told me it could take closer to the 6 weeks because of reduced staff. Hang in there we will all get through this! 😃

Yes, still haven't recieved my petition.

When did they promise you an answer?

NVC said it'll take up to 6 weeks. Called USCIS to confirm if they shipped my petition, which they were unable to confirm, however, said to contact them if it's been longer than 60 days.

there's really nothing to be concerned right now. Our embassy in Pristina is closed anyway so getting the case number won't mean much. Last time I called the lady said that my petition in in NVC but they haven't assigned a case # yet. She said that they are not shipping things to Pristina right now but she clarified that each embassy is changing their status daily.

they started to open some businesses in Kosovo so hopefully they will open the US embassy to for interviews until then there's not much we can do anyway.

    Best of luck!

I wish at least they would have recieved my petition. I guess I'll be a little more patient.
